Description:
The OBL-0 Scout Drone is compared to the OBL-1 and 2 quite large, and compared to the OBL-3, weak.
The OBL-0 has only one singular purpose, to act as a long range scout. The OBL-0 was extremely simple in both design and function, though its task was anything but. The OBL-0's were designed as advanced scout probes, being massive upgrades from older probe droid like the Imperial Viper.
The OBL-0 can be said to be the most “intelligent” of the OBL line. The droids are programmed to be extremely self sufficient as well as problem solving. They can assess situations, relay data, and 'understand' what is going on around them. Unlike its other OBL cousins the OBL-0 is meant to solve problems and push its own boundaries, acting in an inconspicuous manner to gather data and fulfill its mission.
The reason why the OBL-0 was created was to replace aging probe droid designs. It did this by encompassing something that previous models did not have, a hyperdrive. The OBL-0 can effectively travel from objective to objective, scouting out further territories and gather information as it pleases. This though making the OBL-0 more expensive also makes it more cost effective as it means it can scout more places independently.
It should be noted that although the OBL-0 can be used for military scouting, it can also be programed and equipped to scan planets for minerals, ores, etc.
