Description

Sweet Mercy is the affectionate title bestowed upon the lightly-modified, MX-1 Sniper Rifle owned by Isley Verd.

By and large, the model is easily one of the most effective, long-range armaments on the Galactic market. Built upon the principles of magnetic fields, much akin to a Rail Gun or Verpine Shatter Rifle, it is capable of dealing exceptional kinetic damage with a small caliber round. Through the advanced manipulation of magnetic fields, projectiles can be fired at immense velocities. What's more, due to these firing mechanics, each round is fired with almost perfect silence. The strengths of the MX-1 Sniper Rifle also include ammunition versatility. Through the incorporation of multi-caliber magazine and bore, the rifle can fire practically any round that is less than an inch in diameter; even rocks!

However, despite the exceptional nature of the weapon, Isley devised a handful of modifications to improve its versatility. Primarily, these modifications revolved around the installation of a rapid transition scope. Canted at a forty-five degree angle, a secondary scope is affixed to the rail of the weapon. Through this, the user simply has to tilt his head in order to view a target through a different magnification. At present, the "canted" sight is a 1x optical zoom scope, thereby affording the user a clear shot at both close and far ranges. However, this piece is not without its drawbacks.

In particular, using the rapid transition scope generally calls for rotating the weapon forty-five degrees or tilting one's head. Both actions, especially in the context of using a sniper rifle, can have a negative impact on lining up a clean shot. Isley, in an effort to somewhat counteract this drawback, decided to incorporate a bipod into the weapon's attachments. This provides a stationary foundation upon which one can line up a clean shot, tilted head or otherwise. On a final note, the last modification made to Sweet Mercy is simply a new coat of paint.
