- Canon Link: N/A
- Restricted Missions: N/A
- Primary Source: N/A
- Manufacturer: Mystic Tekk
- Model: TX116
- Affiliation: Select customers
- Modularity: Can connect with ship's AI
- Production: Minor
- Material: Various mechanical components
- Scans strengths and weaknesses of target ship(s)
- Connects with ship's weaponry to eliminate targets
- Displays details of ship's weaponry as well as that of target ship(s)
The system utilizes the ship's scanners to evaluate up to 7 target ships simultaneously. It analyzes the weapons, armor, shields, engines, and every other aspect of its target. It uses this to identify strong and weak points, allowing the ship's weapons to respond appropriately. For example, say the system discovered a hostile ship's shield were weak around the area of the cockpit. It would then target that area of the ship with concentrated ion weaponry to exploit the weakness.
It also physically displays all analysed information on the computer screen, allowing the pilot to personally have a deeper understanding of what they're up against.
Strengths:
- Allows for the exploitation of hostile defenses through the intelligent system
- Can reveal weaknesses of an enemy vehicle not discernible with the blind eye
- Pinpoint accuracy
- Relies on the ship's scanners for efficiency. If the ship had low-quality scanners, the system will not perform well
- Can only track up to 7 targets at a time
- Cannot analyze a stealthed or otherwise hidden ship
As Lord Ajihad continued the construction of his new high-grade starship, he pursued only the best technology for the job. He was unable to find a targeting computer that quite suited his needs, calling for him to develop something of his own. He commissioned the engineers at Mystic Tekk to yet again provide him with a piece of state-of-the-art equipment.
The primary focus of the computer is to locate, evaluate, and exploit weaknesses in a hostile ship. This calls for the ship's scanners to totally analyze the target. If done correctly, it will typically reveal strengths, weaknesses, and other such details pertaining to the target ship. Then, as long as the ship's weapons are not being manually controlled, the ship will use onboard information to select the best weapon to exploit hostile weaknesses. For example, it would use an ion turret to attack a weak point in the shield, while it would use a railgun to punch through a vulnerable area of the hull.
While this system is obviously a potentially powerful thing, it also has its fair share of weaknesses. The first and foremost of these is that it relies on the ship's scanners to function. If a ship has weak scanners then the system itself will not function properly. It can also not analyze any ship that it stealthed or that has adequate countermeasures to prevent it being scanned as such. Finally, it cannot track more than 7 targets at a time, putting it at great disadvantage in the fray of a space battle.
