DESCRIPTION
Overview
The Military Starship Upgrade Package (MSUP) is scaled to fit the size ship each refit is intended for with different classes of MSUP designed for varying sizes of ships. Battlecruisers and the like noted as being exceptionally large, normally designed in small production runs with numerous advanced systems, and thus MSUP’s were not designed to scale to that size and classification of ships.

The idea was to bring older models of ships in line with current technological advancements to provide greater versatility and utility, without increasing the cost of each ship’s production exponentially. That is why, while it could have been possible to upgrade every system to top of the line, instead each system was given a cursory refurbishing to most, installation of modern software, with key systems replaced with different technologies that have become more common place among post-netherworld starships.

Propulsion
The Military Starship Upgrade Package features a powerful Firestorm Isotope-5 Reactor, more reliable and consistent than other reactors. It is far more fuel efficient, using Isotope-5, which isn’t required to be as many tons, increasing the operational duration of the ship, allowing it to go further and longer between refueling and resupply. The Hyperdrive has been upgraded to a standard Class 1.0 with a Backup Class 8.0, standard for many governments these days, ensuring a taskforce is able to move and assault together without having to significantly decrease hyperdrive speed for slow ships or older ships with weaker hyperdrives.

Shielding
MSUP’s include a set of Aegis Shield Receptor Nodes, affixing the nodes to the hull of the ship and wiring to the ship's shield controls, computer systems, and reactor unit. The nodes take up a lot of space, reducing the cargo space of the ship significantly, making it dependent on its other systems to prolong its operational capabilities. Additionally, the receptor is unable to receive donated shields while the ship's shields are active, as this would cause a double short out, disabling both.

Weapons
A simple replacement for existing ships equipped with heavy warhead or assault concussion missile launchers, exchanging them for the more versatile Helliod Missile systems, granting the vessels the ability to fire assault warheads or standard warheads from its launchers.

Miscellaneous
The simplest two system’s included in the MSUP is Programmable paint, allowing a ship to change its identifying markings if preprogrammed to do so, allowing a Hyperion Vessel to change to United Mandalorian Clans very quickly if its mission or command is changed. Its Navigation Computer has been upgraded to allow for the plotting of more accurate courses allowing for fewer hyperspace jumps through dangerous territory, and for the accurate plotting of micro-jumps.

The most prominent feature, following with ArmaTech’s mindset of efficiency, is a Molecular Furnace and Solid Fuel Converter in the belly of the ship. Because of the space conserved using a smaller, Isotope-5 reactor, the ship is able to include these, along with a small amount of construction equipment in one of the cargo holds. The furnace allows the ship to process and recycle its own waste and convert it into ammunition, war material, and repair components for the ship and its complement. This very small Molecular furnace is buried within the bowels of the ship, replacing the need for a trash compactor or waste disposal service. It is of course limited in its capacity to produce, unable to create whole starfighters or tanks through the conveyor and construction systems that operate alongside it, more fit for producing small units of battle droids between engagements, replacement parts for starfighters and minor damage to the ship. Given enough time it could theoretically produce enough material to repair major damages, but it could be years given the size of the furnace and thus major repairs should be done at a repair station. Along this same vein, the ship makes use of a Solid Fuel Converter, designed to convert virtually any matter into power for fuel cells. When the molecular furnace is not in use, waste and trash is rerouted to this system to allow for replenishment of the ship's fuel cells.

Strengths:
  • Propulsion Upgrades: Mandal Hypernautics Propulsion suites are already fairly common practice with the Mandalorian navy, however this package includes them, an upgraded Hyperdrive suite, and a Precision Navigation computer allowing for more consistent, faster travel and more advanced combat maneuvers.
  • Extended Operation: Using a Molecular Furnace for fabricating repair parts, a fuel efficient reactor, and a solid fuel converter hooked to the ship's waste management systems, the ship is able to be deployed for long periods of time.
Weaknesses:
  • Cargo Reduction: Cargo space on ships that receive the MSUP is limited, normally about 1/3rd of what the stock model is able to carry. A notable change in its ability to carry war material to new locations. Any ship that could carry a Prefabricated Base is no longer able to.
Special Features:
  • MH Propulsion Suite
  • Precison Navicomputer
  • Molecular Furnace Waste Disposal

a few things.

Feedback: Though the shield suite is no more powerful than the stock model, it features a Retribution Feedback Ray Shield, which defends against energy based attacks and causes an energy feedback directed at the attacking ship. This feedback is 50% at close range, 30% at standard range, and 10% at long range.

Defense Measures: Despite the upgraded technology, the strength and resilience of the shield suite remains the same as the stock model.

you are adding three different types of shielding here and that is more powerful than stock.

Molecular Furnace Waste Disposal
this could be abused very easily. As long as it is used solely for waste it is fine, but anything outside that could border on the edge of super weapon status.

This is cool and all but any ship that will use this will have to be submitted on its own in the starship section as the changes to the vessel are too extensive to just upgrade them. The systems and upgrades basically make any ship this is placed on a new ship and will have to be judged based on the new specifications added by this system.

please add a note stating that any ship class adding this upgrade will have to be submitted to the factory for judging.

Noted. Edited out the shield system.

The Molecular Furnace/Solid Fuel Converter is noted as being in the belly of the ship, not exposed. I'm not making a superweapon. The EVS Construction Droid is more akin to what I'm going for than a World Devastator. I didn't make a massive opening with huge tractor beams, instead I noted how small the capabilities were, and listed a couple examples of what it is capable of. Its really limited if you read it.

That's the opposite of the Point of the submission. The point was to not have to put in 15+ mod requests to add a small number of things.

The package as a whole is some after-market engine upgrades and a replacement shield.

This is a refit, or Reset. The Iowa-class Battleships were refit with new reactor (note that the reactor is fluff for allowing space for the Molecular Furnace and Solid Fuel Converter) updated computer systems, and the like. That's what this is. This is adding a little bit of new tech to existing ship chassis.

Aftermarket Propulsion System (They are After Market)
Fluff Molecular Furnace/Solid Fuel Converter. How many threads are their about refueling your star destroyer or making minor repairs to it, or repairing a ship's starfighters.

This submission is going to be denied on concept.

This submission is, for all intents and purposes, a blank template for starships without adhering to our rules for starships. The intent is stated (per your last reply) to avoid posting "15+ Modifications", which goes along with the body of this submission as it contains all core features of the common starship, from sensors to propulsion and shields to weapons, bundled together with the very specific mention that all of this is assembled to the specifications of ships of various sizes and classifications. What you're doing here is making a "blueprint" that would be used in place of the usual starship submission, which is not going to fly in the factory and is the main reason this is being denied.

This is a circumvention of our factory rules regarding modification requests and the starship template requirement to list out all special features. Attempting to condense information in a misleading fashion is considered an intentional attempt to mislead factory staff which can be punishable by ban from the factory, per the rules.
14. Intentionally breaking these rules or attempting to mislead Judges will incur a 30 day zero tolerance ban from the Factory or Codex.

A similar submission was made several months ago that listed out very similar information but called itself a chassis and was created for very much the same purpose, and it was denied on the same premise that all of this needs to be submitted inside of the starship in question, not as a bundle that mentions it is all assembled to the size and specifications of any ship in question.

If you would like to second chance this, you are more than free to post a request in the Second Chance request thread. However, until that point, this is going to be archived as a denied submission.

I would also suggest that, if you're keen on providing this package to other writers in order to sell it as an IC bundle of modules, that you simply list all of the submissions you have in this submission's special features/equipment as a package in your Marketplace thread.

What you are submitting is a service, and services are not something that belong in the factory. What does belong in the factory are each of the individual modules you have linked to in this submission.

Moved to Archives - PM [member="Spencer Varanin"] for removal / if denied for Second Chance please post and tag Spencer Varanin for review.

Thank you!
