Description:
Designed for planetary assaults, the Maurauder-class Raiding Skiff requires a carrier vessel to transport the vehicle in-between planets, star systems and sectors. Matching the architectural design of Gulamendis, the Skiff sports jagged features that have been sharpened to cut. This skiff can be multiple purpose, used as a means to fly low through enemy ranks, utilizing its sharp features as though it were a chariot with bladed wheels, cutting through formations.
Most importantly it is used as a transport, flying low and slow, allowing warriors to hurl themselves from the ship into the heart of conflicts. Due to its roof-less design it is unable to fly too high without occupants wearing breathing masks or pressurized suits. The forward cannon is the only weapon on the skiff acting to blow apart anything that would blockade the skiff.
Without appropriate seating, the skiff has low passenger capacity for a troop transport, but the nature and design of the skiff allows the Gulandi to flood the skiff with passengers, standing on the slanted sides of the skiff and hanging onto railings, ready to drop when the transport slows down to a safe pace.
While the skiff has no walls or roof protecting its passengers and pilot, this allows the passengers to shoot from the transport down onto those below with their own weapons. This is a double-edged blade, allowing enemy anti-aircraft weapons to obliterate those standing on the deck, pilot included. A direct hit could see the pilot dead, and the skiff crashing down into the ground.
