Special Features:
- Capable of underwater operation thanks to a bifurcating cyclical-ignition phase and waterproof casing.
- Power adjustment knob with two settings: standard and training (mild burns, enhanced field, fully capable of deflection). Sabre is generally set to training mode, due to the Warden of the Sky proscription against weapons that can breach a starship's hull by accident.
- Locking activator latch allows Mara to keep the blade activated even if the sabre leaves her hand, if she wants. It also allows her to lock the sabre off for safe transport in, say, a cluttered toolbox.
Description: Mara D'Lessio Merrill's silver-bladed lightfoil is her first lightsabre, rebuilt from scratch on the advice of her bladework Master, Aleidis Ijet Zrgaat. The light, short weapon suits Mara's body proportions and combat style, which draws heavily from several variants of Makashi as well as the principles of Sokan. The simple-looking sabre is fairly beat-up and scratched, is stained by various starship fluids, and spends as much time in her toolbox as on her belt. It looks like a fairly common model of specialized hydrospanner -- the kind any mechanic has but most rarely use. Its Corellian bloodsteel components are battered and have a matte finish, reducing likelihood of the rare metal being recognized and coveted by non-Corellians. Its short, thin blade is suitable for precise movements, and good for finding gaps in lightsabre-resistant armour, but suffers against massed fire from ranged weapons just like her style of combat. The silver blade is born from a precisely milled chunk of Krayt dragon pearl, a gift from her mother. Like any lightsabre, it is capable of slicing into blast doors, etc.; it needs no advanced circuitry or special arcane stone to be lethal. It is a simple, unobtrusive, highly durable weapon capable of great finesse and precise restraint, perfect for a Warden of the Sky.
