---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS:
  • Once a Soldier... - Formerly a sergeant in the Grand Army of the Republic, Locke is a trained soldier. Capable with a wide variety of weapons common to the battlefield, he is just as lethal with a knife as he is with a blaster and anything in between. In addition, his time spent in combat and his survival training give him the tactical grasp and technical know-how to survive and thrive whether both inside and outside of a firefight.
  • Jaded - A witness and participant in the horrific fighting on Coruscant the day it was pried from the grasp of the Republic, he lived through the aftermath of the invasion after being stranded on the planet. Between this and the years of horrors that followed, Locke has an unshakable willpower, allowing him to weather even the worst the galaxy has to offer.
  • Puppeteer - Discovering his Force sensitivity after the battle of Coruscant, Locke was left alone to cope with the newfound ability. Determined to exert control of some kind over his world after the galaxy came crashing down around his ears, he eventually founds that direct manipulation was impossible in all forms. However, exposure to the Sith controlled Coruscant, its horrors, and a small increase in both Sith lore and artifacts gave him an indirect means to affect the world around him. While new to Sith magic, he shows a strange, almost supernatural, knack for raising the dead utilizing the darkside of the Force.

WEAKNESSES:
  • ... Always a Soldier - Trained to fight with blasters, guns, and logic, Locke has no training or desire to use weapons and equipment most Force sensitives consider 'Standard'. As such, he carries no lightsaber or other Jedi/Sith weaponry, relying entirely on the equipment he's familiar with rather than learn a new skill set.
  • Detached - A witness (some would say victim) of the horrors he's witnessed has made him jaded, but also extremely detached. He finds little in the way of kinship or relation in the people around him and knows that there are very, very few who understand what he has seen and experienced. As such, most find him aloof and distant at best, making him hard to work with to some extent. Primarily, however, he views and understands things in a vastly different manner than the rest of the galaxy, making his own priorities and desires at complete odds with nearly every person he comes into contact with. So great is his detachment with all others (some would say reality itself), he often finds more in common with the dead than the living.
  • Savant or Skilled? - Locke has found a strange knack for the Sith ability to reanimate the dead through scrounging old texts, replicating scraps of information, and what could only be either dumb luck or supernatural talent. Unfortunately, his abilities anywhere else are exceptionally weak or nonexistent, often equivalent to parlor tricks at best.

APPEARANCE:
Locke is of average build and size, sporting brown hair and brown eyes. His frame is athletic, but wiry, and he keeps his hair short, though not cropped.

BIOGRAPHY:

Little is known about Locke before his appearance of Coruscant. The only facts that seem true is his previous rank as a Sergeant in the Grand Army of the Republic, though no records of a Sergeant Locke exist, leading most to believe the name is one he gave himself rather than his true birth name. His tactical skill and familiarity with military equipment and weaponry show that there may be some truth to the tale, however.

Locke claims to have been abandoned on Coruscant as the Republic was driven from the world by the One Sith. He was witness to the horrible fighting on the planet and the brutality of the occupation that came after. Years of terror and living as a refugee in fear have made him jaded, indifferent to the fear and terror. Using his training, Locke survived and scraped a meager existence hiding on the planet, avoiding the One Sith and their constant patrols with relative ease in the lowest levels of the city. He avoided resistance movements entirely, believing them to be futile in the face of such occupation and doomed to failure.

His realizion of his Force sensitivity occurred during this time, though how is not entirely known as Locke is neither consistent or forthcoming on the matter. He has claimed to have always had the sensitivity even before Coruscant as well as stating he only recently discovered the abilities. Stories of its discovery range from being wounded in the fighting and being healed by a hermit deep beneath the city to being tortured by Sith to unlock the potential. The most consistent story is he has told has been of being badly wounded during the fighting and, after being abandoned, trying to survive. During this time, he realized that the injury quickly healed itself and that what should have eventually killed him slowly failed to do so. After an incident at a One Sith checkpoint where they scanned all passing through for Force sensitivity, Locke determined he was, indeed, Force sensitive.

Knowing the Jedi were gone from the planet and, at least in part, blaming them for much of the situation both he and the planet had landed in, Locke turned to whatever scraps he could find on his potential newfound abilities. Gathering scraps of information and tidbits of lore, he also turned to watching the few Sith that patrolled the city with their troops. Through years of trial and error and pure luck, he pieced together a small number of Sith abilities. Most ended in failure, his ability to grasp and understand the Force often to cause of blame. One attempt, however, slowly bore more fruit and, eventually, was entirely successful.

After years of trial and error, time and time again, Locke succeeded in resurrecting a corpse, if only for a short time. In light of such a success, he focused only on this ability to the exclusion of all else until he had become at least marginally proficient in the Sith 'spell' he'd discovered.

Currently, he is at large in the galaxy, taking the opportunity to leave Coruscant entirely after the fall of the One Sith and the invasion of the Galactic Alliance.
