Dark_army_by_bitrix_studio.jpg

Name: Legion Yun'Do

Intent: Subset of Hrosha-Gul, written as the personal army of the Wrath of the One Sith, Reverance. Based out of Selvaris. Purely for the point that I don't want people being surprised when they go up against my NPC's.

Affiliation: Reverance, One Sith

Availability: Common -> Rare

Type: Biotechnical War Machine. Includes Infantry, Leadership, Mounts, and Vehicles of War

Strength: Unit strength is roughly 100 - 300, depending on purpose. Total population is currently 100,000, not including Chazrach Slaves.

Description: Legion Yun'Do, roughly translated to the Legion of God's Woe, was first introduced to the universe during the One Sith's invasion of Manaan. During this time, the legion began as a force of Vong siphoned away from the Hrosha-Gul regiments of the One Sith, under the relegation of Reverance. After completing an arguably trouncing victory on Manaan and the subjugation of the Generator and Buoyancy facility, the Wrath continued to siphon reserves from the Hrosha-Gul for his bidding. This was most profoundly seen in the defense of Prakith and the utter decimation of the stronghold on Kashyyyk, securing a victory just prior to the Netherworld event.

During the Netherworld and great disappearance, Reverance made use of the opportunity by subjugating Selvaris into the purposes of Vongforming. From the Hrosha-Gul, the Wrath proclaimed War Mastery over the Shai Domain who make up the entirety of the Legion Yun'Do. This group glorifies pain and the sacrifice of flesh, something that falls very close to home for Reverance. Through his own demonstrations of strength and willingness for pain, the group has accepted him as the true Warmaster of the Legion. Through their glorification of pain and sacrifice, they honor their Gods and the Dark Lord of the Sith, who they accept as a member of the Great Ones.

Through the guidance of the Wrath, the Legion continues to thrive on Selvaris, slowly pushing out Vongforming to incorporate more and more of the world. Vonduun nutrient bogs, bioscapes, and lambent fields continue to rise from the ashes of the destructive process as the community continues to thrive on the freedom given by the One Sith. The Legion is compromised of a fully functional caste system, including masters of both the warrior and shaper caste, along with shamed ones and herds of Chazrach. The domain has taken advantage of the proximity to the sentient world around them, using predominantly humans as experiments for developing new biots and armor for the slowly assimilating population of non vong into the Legion. Such members include [member="Matsu Xiangu"], [member="Sage Bane"], and [member="Vrag"] . With supreme scrutiny and estimation of sacrifice, any are capable of being welcomed into the group. Though the process can be both arduous and painful.

The Vong of the Legion Yun'Do practices a form of eugenics similar to that of the spartans of old (a practice falling deep into the roots of Shai culture). Much like that ancient culture, offsprings are characterized early on for likelihood of being successful shapers or warriors. Of course, if they don't meet minimum requirements, they are sacrificed to the Gods. The Warriors are trained from an early to age to not only accept pain, but to glorify it and seek it out. A member of the Legion Yun'Do desires nothing more than to die in a blaze of glory, taking his or her enemies with him, in a flash of pain and misery. The Shaper caste, while coming from the same ilk, glorifies the pain of others for the purpose of the races betterment through science and experimentation. The warrior caste is done in ranks that follow the provided order: Warrior -> Subaltern -> Subcommander -> Commander -> Supreme Commander -> Warmaster -> Supreme Overlord (currently unfilled in the legion, leading to the Warmaster (Reverance) as being the current de-facto leader and Supreme Overlord). The Shaper Caste has no official structure of command beyond ranks similar to apprentice (Shaper Initiate), knight (Shaper Adept), and master (Master Shaper).

Current Castes allocated in the Legion Yun'Do:
  • Warrior Caste: The largest caste within the Legion, it is divided into multiple groups for different purposes. The military arm of the Legion.
  • Shaper Caste: Highly influential caste within the Legion, the caste is mostly non military and works to develop new beasts and biotechnology for the advancement of the One Sith and the Legion.
  • Intendant Caste: As of right now, this group is largely contained within the political structure of Selvaris. Has several ranks, similar to common government practices, that indicate increasingly significant influence.
  • Priest Caste: Has been largely modified in the Legion to meet the needs of the group. Technology is not entirely seen as a blasphemy but more a necessary crutch, until such a time when the Legion can depart entirely from the notion. Serves as the direct conduit to the Gods. Similar to the Intendent Caste, the Priest Caste has a ranking system based on increasing levels of influence.
  • Worker Caste: Includes slaves, non-vong, shamed ones, and those not worthy of being in another caste. Building, cleaning up the dead and experimented, this is a highly useful caste but not one often respected. However, through the endeavors of the flesh, they are constantly in search of making peace with their God through service. This obligation binds them, in terms of loyalty, to the Legion.
Specialized Ranks within the Warrior Caste:
  • Hunters: Elite and semi-rare unit of the warrior caste, marked by their use of the Cloak of Nuun. The most advanced members of these, often on the level of unique npcs, are called Nuun.
  • Praetorite: Often serve as the vanguard for the legion, they combine the roles of assault, scouting, recon, engineers, and logistics.
  • Shock Trooper: Reserved for members used for HALO Drops, donning the Draxus armor.
Notable PC Members: [member="Yurzhoc Shai"] (Subcommander), [member="Matsu Xiangu"] (potential Master Shaper), [member="Vrag"] (Commander/Supreme Commander), Reverance (Warmaster and Supreme Overlord)

You have a great submission, and I have no fault with it.

I love it quite simply, the work is there alone in the sub. Most of this is rooted firmly in canon, and the deviations have been dev threaded quite enough. This isn't you simply cataloging something, it's you solidifying all of your hard work. I see no faults.

Approved, pending secondary.
