NAME: Kara Cabor
FACTION: Mandalorians
RANK: Initiate
SPECIES: Human
AGE: Uncertain, around 16-18

SEX: Female
HEIGHT: 5' 11"
WEIGHT: 149 lbs
EYES: Grayish-greenish-blueish
HAIR: Dark brown
SKIN: Fair
FORCE SENSITIVE: No

LANGUAGES: Basic, Huttese, can curse like a sailor in many other languages - and often does

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES (Required: 2 Weaknesses Minimum) :

Weapon-Savvy: While Kara isn't the greatest fighter to ever walk the streets of Tatooine, she is a good (if untested in actual combat) shot. She's also been in a few knife fights in her life, so she knows how to use a knife. (Strength)
Mechanic: Kara has a gift for machines that she's been cultivating since she was a little girl. Roughly three years ago, she found the half-useless skeleton of a Z-95 Headhunter, and she's been slowly assembling it into a flyable ship.
Pilot: Pretty darn good, for someone who's never actually flown a starship. But she knows the inner workings of what she flies, and she's been studying anything she can get her hands on about piloting with religious dedication. (Strength)

Stubborn as a Mule: Kara is young. She is also a teenager. She also inexperienced but doesn't know it yet. So she's going to be belligerent sometimes. And stubborn. And generally annoying without even knowing it. On the bright side, she's harder to manipulate, because she tends to stick to her guns to the ridiculous power. (Neutral Quality)

Galactically Naive: While Kara did grow up on Tatooine, she didn't pay any attention to the news and spent most of her time in machine shops. As a result, she has very little idea of just how much evil the galaxy's capable of. (Weakness)
Cold-Sensitive: Kara grew up on Tatooine. Therefore she has no resistance to the cold whatsoever. Heat, yes. Cold, hell to the no power. (Weakness)
Leadership Skills: The leaderships skills. They do not exist. At all. Seriously, don't put her in charge of anyone she doesn't know really well, or she'll freeze up. (Weakness)

APPEARANCE:

Kara is weirdly tall, especially for a woman. She's solidly built and pretty strong, with dark brown hair that hangs in curls around her face and gray-blue-green eyes. Her skin is tanned but fair, and smiles and laughs a lot. Generally, she wears a loose off-white longsleeved shirt and size-too-big tan pants held up with a simple rope-cord belt. Having managed to get hold of a gun of her own, she wears it in a makeshift holster on her belt. The knife she keeps hidden in the top of the brown high-topped boots she wears.

BIOGRAPHY:
Kara was born an orphan.

Her father was killed before she was born, and her mother died in childbirth. The little girl was raised by her mother's brother, Dorvik, who owned a shop in Mos Eisley. Dorvik cared for her, and she was old enough to help, had her doing what she could. This awoke and nurtured her passion for machines - especially starships. Kara lived with her uncle until he died of a heart attack when she was eight.

The death of her uncle left her homeless and hungry. If she had been older she might have sought out work in seedy cantinas, but as it was, she sold something else that belonged to her - her mechanical aptitude. Fixing broken speeders, helping in junk shops like her uncle's, and offering to repair ships at the spaceport - for a price. Taking odd jobs like these let her smuggle materials out - rough cloth, metal (almost always durasteel), and foodstuffs, occasionally basic tools.

Three years ago, Kara found the remains of a Z-95 Headhunter, crashed and forgotten in the deserts a couple miles outside of Mos Eisley. It had been covered with sand, but the skeleton and about half of the body plates were still there, as well as the seat and the old engines. Over the next three years, Kara plundered storage warehouses, bought outdated bargain-basement equipment, and haggled prices, looking for the pieces to repair the ship. Gradually, she managed to put it together. It looks...patched, but it could fly. Now, she had to gather enough rations to get her to a planet in civilized space. She hadn't chosen one yet, but she had a vague idea of heading for Bothuwai, an idea set in her mind roughly a year ago, when Tatooine joined the CIS. However, one event changed all that.

When Kara was working on her starship - dubbed "Goldmine" - she saw a ship crash, near to her position. Hoping to find some salvage, she headed over. What she found instead, shocked her. There was a Mandalorian woman, fully armored, limping away from the crash site where four droids lay smoking near the ship. Kara, feeling generous, gave the woman one of her extra medpacs to help with her leg. The woman told her her name was Kila. Kara introduced herself in return, and Kila told her, with some surprise, that her name was very similar to the Mando'a word ka'ra, meaning star, and her last name cabor was close to cabur, meaning guardian. So her name meant Star Guardian.

Kara asked Kila what she was doing on Tatooine, and Kila told her she was there for a bounty. Some politician had found out a small-time crime lord named Vokko had unearthed some nasty information on him. Normally, Kila wouldn't care, but she needed the cash. Sensing an opportunity, Kara offered her help in exchange for a cut. Kila agreed, guessing that Kara might come in handy at some point. She was right. Kara managed to save her life in one of the three fights the two undertook together. Unfortunately, the third one, against Vokko, cost Kila her life.

When she died, Kila told Kara there could be a place for her as a Mandalorian if she wanted it. She also gave Kara the knife that her friend, Ordo, had given to her and told her to show it to a scar-faced man called Ordo if she needed help as a Mandalorian. Then she died.

Kara didn't set out for Mandalorian space immediately. Instead, she stayed to hone her ship and create some rudimentary armor for herself. But now that's done - and now Kara is setting out for the Mando'ade.
