DESCRIPTION

When you order a droid, you order a computer. A computer that can, presumably, move and do just a little bit more than your average laptop. When you purchase your computer, what do you want in it? A shiny paintjob? A really cool case? These are all aesthetics. Useless, and ultimately contribute nothing to the performance of the computer. Such is the state of the galaxy’s droid industry- an emphasis on imagery rather than practicality. Pretty cases with no real merit. If you want new droids for a new age, more reliable and more intelligent than ever before, you go Cestus Cybernetics.

Cestus Cybernetics strives to be more than just a pretty face. Cestus Cybernetics strives for perfection, and the second addition to the Julianos-Series of Droid Brain brings them several steps closer. The J2 Droid Brain combines innovative technology with advanced, coveted materials and an unparalleled internal structure to bring the droids of Cestus Cybernetics to the forefront of artificial intelligence and versatility.

Gabonna Memory Crystals represent the pinnacle of information processing and storage. The unique crystalline structure of the Gabonna make it perfect for implementation into the central processors and memory chips of droids. Specifically for implementation in the brain, Cestus commissioned help of two teams of Verpine and Geonosians, as well a Givin and Bith droid experts.

The parts that make up the J2 can be replicated in any old droid brain. These help make the J2 a top-class droid brain for any price range, but that’s not the sellpoint. The J1 Droid Brain was the first mass-produced droid brain to fully explore the potential of the microsynapse system. Now improved upon with the expertise of Givin mathemeticians, the microsynapse system that made the J1 Droid Brain so great has been further refined and streamlined. For only a moderate increase in price above the J1, the J2 easily outclasses other droid brains in a similar price range.

As with the J1, the paranoia of the Cestus Cybernetics board of directors is more than evident. In order to protect their advancements from industrial espionage or copyright infringement, the Julianos-Series Droid Brain line comes equipped with a special system. Inside the droid brain is a moderate amount of highly corrosive acid.

Unless the self destruct system is circumvented, a process only known to specialized Cestus Cybernetic technicians (and a royal pain even then), the acid is released, almost instantly dissolving the system of microsynapse, the memory chip, and the other components of the droid brain. This acid has also been tested to ensure that it damages the Gaboona Memory Crystal component beyond all repair as well.

The presence of the self-destruct system is not common knowledge and cannot be triggered remotely. An individual must physically attempt to crack the outer case or otherwise illicitly gain access to the droid brain’s internal systems in order for it to activate it. Further, the self-destruct system does not activate if the brain is removed from the droid, enabling low-tier technicians to make replacements if needed. Removed brains automatically deactivate and subsequently require the assistance of a licensed Cestus Cybernetics technician to reactivate.

This last line, why Cestus Cybernetics technicians specifically? Is there an inbuilt code or something the CC techs need to enter, or perhaps a CC Technician number or something? Could a skilled slicer/mechanic bypass this and make illegal modifications, at the cost of warranty?
