In the Shadows of the Metharian Nebula

OOC thread

After the events of the Metharian Nebula, more commonly known as L-49, where the First Order has shown its willingness to blockade sectors of the galaxy and even break treaties, the need for training the next crop of SJ fleeters is clear. That said, Jessica, while having fought in Ord Radama's orbit, and also in the ill-fated Ossus campaign, seems to be preoccupied with finding solutions regarding the breaching of the blockade, with returning veterans from the Metharian Nebula [member="Jyoti Nooran"] and [member="Gir Quee"] being the instructors of this training session, with [member="Sko'saht"], with whom she fought in the Serenno campaign, on the Kushibah theater, and also the hero of Kessel, being another instructor, and the students, several of whom she readily recognized: [member="Asaraa Vaashe"], [member="Adrian Harfeld"], [member="Jerit Kolomor"], and also a newcomer, [member="Kei Raxis"]. Perhaps more students would also be taking part in this training session, provided there is enough room for them inside the main command training facility on Kashyyyk to house the other participants that may come in at a later point. With the participants now assembled, prior to them being assigned to holographic stations roughly the size of a rather small CIC:

"There is a reason why I accepted to be one of the hosts for this special wargame session, to be broadcast live among the holoshows of Kashyyyk: L-49 proved that, in order to be pulling our weight against the dark, and especially against enemies like the First Order, who are more inclined to fight in space than the Sith traditionally are, we need to have skilled personnel at the command level to engage the enemies in space. Please take up your positions inside the stations prior to activation"

The room was quiet. Holographic stations were nothing like the real thing, they were weird. The real thing involved lasers coming towards you incredibly fast with amazing power behind them. In a simulator, you could never feel the life or death situations that you would feel in a true battle. However, even Kei had to admit that in this situation the simulators were safer than having ships actually shooting at eadh other. Kei had to admit that at least no-one would die in a simulator. That was probably safest, Kei wasn't really onside with team kills and he didn't want to be responsible for a number of them.

He was quite enjoying wargames. They were a way to test one's skills while removing any real danger. He had also signed up for the wargames hosted by [member="Lady Kay"] and [member="Veiere Arenais"], the queen and king of Commenor. Kei enjoyed working with the Commenor Systems Alliance, they had become family to him, comrades. He was looking forward to floating alongside them and learning from them as well as attempting to teach them something different. He wanted to teach the members of the Commenor Systems Alliance that sometimes all you needed to do was trust your teammates and the battle was already won.

The simulators they were using were good. There was truly no denying that they were using the top of the line simulators for the training sesson. Still not top of the line enough as when Kei was inputting his ships into the machine he figured out how to add custom ships. Of course he added The Nightshadow, that thing was his baby. He'd captained her across the galaxy however she had yet to taste battle. Obviously this didn't count but for Kei, it was close enough to see how his baby would handle in space, how his ship would cope when it come under fire from a number of different battleships, all armed and ready to open fire.

Then the order was given.

Kei moved over to his simulator, sighing. He scanned the controls before loading up his preset ships. He knew he would be commanding the battle from the deck of The Nightshadow, it was no fun if he wasn't. All he needed was his actual crew and he probably could of bought into the emersion that the simulators were going to provide. He scanned their battleground casually, smiling. He had a very basic plan, he wasn't sure how well it would work and honestly he didn't know if it would work. He was willing to try it anyway, willing to hope that in the fighting everyone got tied up fighting each other so that no-one was left focusing on Kei.

Oh he hoped.

No pressure then, this training simulation would be broadcast to the entire Order of Silver Jedi! For a moment Asaraa hovered on the edges of the room, poised between stepping forward and retreating back to the safety of the temple. It wasn't like she wanted the entire Order to see her every mistake and failure...only that wasn't really an option now was it? Even as the young woman hung there, curious and wavering she heard footsteps, saw [member="Kei Raxis"] pacing forward to settle himself in at one of the consoles. A soft sigh escaped the Togruta's lips as she found her feet pressing into the ground, propelling her across the CIC. There was no way she was going to let him show her up.

Before she realised it Asaraa had found herself in the hot seat as the simulator powered up in front of her. She'd played around with one of these before, but only ever against the computer, just practising and fooling around, this was the first time she'd really be going up against someone else. To say she was nervous would be an understatement but, as an opportunity, this wasn't one that she wanted to waste. Taking a deep breath before she let it out the Padawan bent her head, pulling up the fleet she'd prepared and familiarising herself with the controls. If she was gonna do this then she was going all in.
