  • EMP/Ion - The Parabrite/Dunalmite alloy paired with the Kirishima Cap Drains makes this vessel highly resistant to the effects of either energy, allowing it to shrug off attempts to shut down systems inside the ship and even transferring the energy to shield power.
  • Stealth Polymer - During the process of construction, the materials were doped with HPI's stealth polymer, and while the surface of the ship is still highly reflective, run of the mill scanners notably have difficulty picking up these ships at times.
  • Hull Integrity - The Ossis II framework gives the ship frame an incredible amount of integrity in regard to kinetic resistance such as ramming or even direct kinetic hits.
  • Droid Managed Fabrication Systems - Featuring a droid managed fabrication system in the modular interior spine, the ship is capable of making in field repairs on most anything it can get a hold of an fit inside its cargo bay.
  • Hyper-modular - The ship is meant for a variety of missions, and its interior reflects this with a significant amount of flexibility. Able to be changed even in the field to adjust to changing mission parameters.

  • Variables - While the ship benefits from the VOId systems, in combat situations a direct strike to the engines will potentially damage the adjustable systems and either lock them into that system, or disable the unit.
  • Not Impossible - While the stealth polymer helps to avoid being found by passive scans or run of mill scanning systems, higher end scanner systems are able to find the ship with ease.
  • Built In - While the Ossis II frame provides many benefits, in field repairs are highly difficult due to the complexity of the internal framework of the main beams, requiring dry-dock if the vessel can be salvaged.
  • Hyper-modular - The ship is meant for a variety of missions, and its interior reflects this with a significant amount of flexibility. This modularity also makes the interior a house of cards compared to the ship's frame proper. An explosion inside the vessel has the possibility to severely disrupt the vessel's ongoing mission parameters.
  • Fixing Limits - While the ship is capable of making in field repairs, it is limited to craft smaller than itself without taking great risks to not only the host vessel, but the vessel being repaired as well due to spacewalk requirements.

The Purrgil-class Modular Transport is a 500-meter-long multi-role vessel designed for both the Republic Defense Fleet (RDF) and the Grand Army of the High Republic (GAHR) to serve as a bridge between the Republic's combat and humanitarian missions. Inspired by the grace and endurance of the majestic purrgil star whales that traverse hyperspace without boundaries, the class embodies the High Republic’s spirit of unity, exploration, and resilience.

Its streamlined hull features flowing silver-white panels with soft gold and royal red accent lines that shimmer under starlight, evoking Naboo and Republic design influences. Beneath its elegant surface lies a powerful modular framework, allowing entire mission sections to be swapped or reconfigured within hours. A Purrgil-class might serve as a troop carrier one week, a medical convoy the next, and a deep-space colonial support ship after that.

At the vessel’s heart is the Modular Core Spine, a reinforced structure running the ship’s full length. Docking clamps, plasma conduits, and repulsor field locks anchor interchangeable mission modules varying from troop barracks, hangars, hydroponic farms, repair foundries, or even embassy suites. The aft section houses robust ion drives and twin hyperdrive generators tuned for long-range escort operations. The bridge sits foreship behind a luminous theadian viewport, giving commanding visibility of the ship’s operations and surroundings.

The crew complement averages around 850 personnel including bridge crew, engineers, medics, and logistics staff depending on the deployment requirements. Troop Capacity is capped at 3,200 soldiers or equivalent support staff in troop transport configuration. A Purrgil-class has a vehicle capacity of 80 light armored vehicles or 24 atmospheric gunships or dropships depending on configuration. The Purrgil-class is built to sustain expeditionary fleets and frontier colonies, meaning its medical footprint must handle a wide variety of deployments such as relief missions, natural disaster and war recovery, and long-duration deep-space rotations.

While it is not a dedicated hospital ship by default, it can be converted into one by replacing two modular cargo bays with 4–6 more general wards with an expanded surgical theaters along with additional bacta tanks. In full Hospital Conversion configuration the Purrgil-class can total patient capacity from 700–1,000 depending on module arrangement compared to its standard 180 patients with 450 patients in emergency surge conditions. Some of the Additional Medical Support Spaces include a Sterile Fabrication Pod for repairs on medical droids along with production of sterile surgical tools. A Pharmaceutical Lab & Synthesist which can produce antibiotics, bacta gel derivatives, hydration packs, and basic anti-rad treatments. A Jedi Healer Meditation Annex that is a small, quiet chamber adjoining the primary ward for Force-assisted stabilization and emotional trauma care. And finally a Biohazard Isolation Suite with secure negative pressure containment featuring its own air scrubbing system.

Continuing with the variations of this modularity also exist for other purposes such as forward base construction with the Purrgil-class capable of ferrying heavy construction materials such as duracrete, metal beams, and aggregate up to 160,000 metric tonnes per ship. For prefabricated housing modules or infrastructure kits it is capable of ferrying 120,000 metric tonnes. For Humanitarian relief including but not limited to food, water, medical supplies, palletized cargo it is capable of ferrying up to 180,000 metric tonnes.

The Command Deck offers the staff a panoramic control bridge with gold-inlaid control consoles, holotable arrays, and meditation alcoves for Jedi liaisons. The Crew Quarters are heavily modular dormitories with privacy fields, capable of expanding or retracting depending on mission staffing. The Mission Modules function as interchangeable sections for cargo, medical, or assault configurations depending on the mission requirements handed down to the commanding officer. An internal Repair Bay features docking cradles for starfighters, shuttles, and light freighters, complete with droid-managed fabrication systems. Finally, the Atrium Corridor is a living space lined with translucent panels and verdant plant life as a calming reprieve even in war zones.

In GAHR operations, the Purrgil-class acts as a vital support artery be it ferrying troops, providing a field medical facility, repairing damaged vessels, or establishing forward logistics hubs near unstable hyperspace lanes. Its modularity and range make it invaluable for humanitarian aid, Jedi outreach, and frontier stabilization missions.

Each Purrgil-class vessel carries the High Republic’s emblem of radiant gold across its prow, symbolizing the promise of light carried to even the darkest corners of the galaxy.
