DESCRIPTION

Ha'rangir is the name bestowed upon the unique, personal weapon created by Isley Verd. Constructed in the form of a tomahawk, it is the literal intersection of two ancient techniques: Sith Alchemy and Force-Imbuement. The process by which Ha'rangir was forged began with the shedding of innocent blood. Through this act, coupled with a ritualized treatment of the blood via incantation, the Forge itself was prepared. The unfortunate soul selected to "assist" Isley in the creation of his personal weapon was CC-1337 Razor. He, a former member of the Dread Guard, spat in the face of responsibility and broke his oaths and contract of military service. His defection was alongside that of the so-called Liberty Concord; but as opposed to following the traitorous organization to obscurity within the Omega Protectorate, Razor decided to strike out on his own. His confidence in his abilities would inspire him to venture to Lorrd so that he might investigate the newborn Sith Empire...but that was the definition of folly. Razor was promptly apprehended by the clone of Isley Verd, Ishmael, who then ferried the unfortunate soul to Castle Ne'tra. There, he received a fitting, traitor's demise whilst his blood contributed immensely to the Bith of Ha'rangir.

Once the Forge itself was prepared, Isley began the immensely difficult task of imbuing the weapon with the Force whilst making adjustments to its molecular structure. To this end, he selected a bar of his choice metal, Desh-Terenthium, and straightway began the process. Desh-Terenthium was chosen due to its ultralight weight, which offset the grievous addition of weight that came with the finished product. In order to simultaneously imbue the metal with the Force and make adjustments, Isley had to act as a dam for a river of Dark Side energies. For what felt like a small eternity, he directed the flow of the Force onto the metal until each and every molecule was saturated. He also conducted two rounds of molecular adjustments. The first of which revolved around strengthening, sharpening, and augmenting the Desh-Terenthium to a point of nay indestructibility and imperviousness to lightsabers. The second round revolved around reversing the metal's magnetic polarity whilst prompting a polished surface as a final result. This resulted in the weapon's ability to deflect/reflect blaster bolts and lasers.

Once the adjustments were finalized, Isley set about the next step: preparing the energy crystal. Through incantation-driven meditation, he began to marry the lattices of the crystal with the metal. What's more, he immersed the crystal and the freshly-shaped Desth-Terenthium in the lifeblood of the clone, resulting in a rather corruptive aura and the signature feature of Ha'rangir. As a whole, the final product varies very little difference from the Sith Swords and Force-Imbued Blades which inspired its creation. Like a Sith Sword, Ha'rangir is completely resistant to the blades of lightsabers and boasts the ability to reflect or deflect blaster bolts and lasers. What's more, the weapon is characterized by a literal nexus of corruptive, Dark Side energies that act as a focal point for the concentration and powers of its wielder. (It is to be noted that the total radius of the nexus is approximately five meters and has a particular effect upon the mental health of those within; prompting aggression and damage to mental stability after prolonged exposure.) In addition, Ha'rangir has a peculiar relationship with Force-based electricity. It acts as a lightning rod, attracting and storing these energies for release upon the next strike. This allows the potential inflict of grievous electrical damage upon the next blow. Furthermore, as the weapon is heavily tuned to Isley's Force aura and signature, utilizing the ability Force Weapon comes with a noticeable ease when compared to a non-enhanced tool or weapon.

Likewise, Ha'rangir possesses many characteristics of a Force-Imbued Blade as well. Most notably, the weapon projects a fiery aura of purple hue; a testament to the permanent presence of the Force within the tomahawk. Whilst this aura would typically enhance the cutting power of the resulting weapon to the point where it could cut through modern materials/metals (such as Durasteel with noticeable difficulty), the method of Ha'rangir's creation resulted in an augmentation to this feature. In fact, due to the augmentation, this feature became the signature strength of the weapon overall: Ha'rangir boasts the ability to rend through or shatter beskar-grade or lower materials. This cutting power is enormous in comparison to the normal, Force-Imbued Sword and is the reasoning behind Isley's perpetual keeping of Ha'rangir by his side. What's more, he need not fear this power being utilized against him in the slightest; for in the hands of another wielder, Ha'rangir's force aura does not manifest, leaving the weapon as a Sith Sword in tomahawk form within their grasp. However, despite these impressive features, the weapon is not without its drawbacks.

To begin, the average tomahawk would all but be useless in a bonafide lightsaber duel; and its surface area is so small that the deflection or reflection of blaster bolts is exceptionally difficult. As such, Isley decided to strengthen Ha'rangir against one of these shortcomings whilst making it all the more vulnerable to the other. Its aesthetic, which consists of open space in the tomahawk's head, results in the rare capacity to catch a lightsaber blade or sword blade in the opening. Through this, Isley can potentially wist an assailant's blade out of his/her grasp or close the gap between them. However, this tactic is the definition of risky and is phenomenally difficult to pull off against any moderate to advanced duelist. By incorporating open space, Ha'rangir's capacity to reflect or deflect blaster bolts is all but extinguished, for there is barely enough surface area for the deflection or reflection to occur upon. Furthermore, as aforementioned, the weapon is characterized by a nexus of corruptive, Dark Side energies. Constant exposure will undoubtedly result in changes to mental stability in its user, leading to aggression, manic thoughts, or flat-out insanity. However, despite this flaw, Ha'rangir's "Achilles' Heel" is a reptilian creature known as a Ysalamir. These creatures project bubbles that render the Force suppressed; a fact that would suppress the phenomenal cutting power of the weapon. This is due to the fact that the Force aura attributes the cutting power. Upon contact with a Ysalamir field, Ha'rangir is reduced to little more than a Sith Sword in tomahawk form.

However, Ha'rangir is an overall exceptional weapon. Appearing as a finely polished tomahawk whose blade will never dull (due to its keening upon a "Sith Whetstone" known as Svoltan Rhyolite). Aesthetically etched to bear the symbol of Clan Verd upon the shaft, it is a fitting personal weapon that will always be seen (and felt) at Isley's side.

You've been doing alchemy - training threads, tech submissions - for long enough that a mastercraft weapon is reasonable. (Me, I tend to define 'mastercraft' as 'full set of canon attributes plus something special'.) What I like most about this submission is that every step forward has a step back. You've combined alchemy and force-imbuement, which is fine with an exemplary dev thread this size, but you've used that combination to toss in a big ol' condition on what makes the weapon special.

Fundamentally, there are only two areas of concern. The first is the nexus effect, and the second is the ability to punch through beskar.

First, the nexus. That's a canon attribute of high-end Sith swords, and you've taken care to quantify yours -- small radius, limited and specified effects, downsides. That right there puts it head and shoulders above nearly every high-end alchemical anything in board history.

Second, the special ability. You've grounded it very well in canon, more so than the special abilities of most alchemical weapons I've seen, and it's got its own inherent downsides too (like getting the blade back out again). A special ability, with a dev thread that thorough, is fine. For the sake of a reference point, I've taken to using Rave's sword Entropy as a benchmark for what a skilled alchemist can make with a long submission and a very serious dev thread. Ha'rangir is on par with Entropy, with a slightly lesser special ability plus the nexus effect's upsides.

I find this submission balanced, thorough, and not especially prone to abuse. Approved pending secondary approval.
