OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: The intent is to give myself a character for which there is no background of to deal with the struggles a creature without any other of its kind must go through in the galaxy. The journey to try and find a way to keep his species going, his own survival as an oddity, and general exploration of the galaxy. From an OOC standpoint, it brings over a character I’m comfortable playing from Sci-fi plays over e-mail and IMs, it gives me a character for which I can learn this board from an IC standpoint, while expanding my own star wars knowledge after having been away from it for years without consistently touching base. It will be a fun and interesting experience for me to dive in from an IC point of view to learn the galaxy rather than trying to get it all gathered OOCly and then take to In Character perspectives with it.
One would hope that no one would create a character to undermine the integrity of Star Wars.

Governments were largely corporations that owned sections of the planet with their employees. Most currency was unable to be used outside of the Corporation’s territory and thus emigration to other corporations was nearly nonexistent. Laws for each Corporation varied greatly, some were extremely lenient on corporation interference, whereas others were extremely controlling of how the population could act. A global accepted norm was that males and females had different societal roles; with many females being used as though it were Feudal realm to secure alliances by blood between corporations. The higher class the females, the more restrictive these laws were unless they owned their own corporation, but the lower class females did not quite have the same restrictions as those expected to be used as bargaining pieces. Inside of corporation territory, cultures evolved depending on what was available so much so that there were many cases of cities being near polar opposites of each other in what was deemed moral and immoral.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Garani inhabited Garan Prime for thousands of years after evolving from semi-sentient predators into the dominant species on the world. Their society took to technology at a slower rate than the Rakati and it would end up costing them their freedom when the time came. The Garani had just launched their second colony ship when the Infinite Empire came upon their homeworld. The alien invaders came with technology and seemingly supernatural abilities that the natives were unable to compete with. While the Garani were unable to successfully target the Infinite Empire starships in orbit, the fighting planet side was far more vicious. The native inhabitants were advanced enough to put up a fight against the invaders and an offering of peace seemed inevitable! This changed when the Infinite Empire switched from fighting to take the natives as slaves and just to decimate them in order to take the planet for themselves. When planetary bombardments rained down from the heavens, the Garani were forced underground to try and fight with guerrilla tactics against the overpowering enemy. With their tanks and airplanes out of the equation, the Garani forces were unable to effectively push back against the Infinite Empire and it became a losing war of attrition. With little hope left, the Garani threw down their weapons in hopes of their civilians being spared the wrath of their new overlords. The Infinite Empire took their people and enslaved them, though it did not take long for the dangers of Garani slaves to become evident with the number of talons and teeth each creature possessed and after a large number of cases of assault on their Masters, the Garani were deemed to be a greater cost than a benefit and their people were butchered and retained only for a few hundred more years as a exotic delicacy for some members of the Infinite Empire before their species disappeared from the galactic playing field. During their occupation, there were still underground organizations that fought against the Infinite Empire when their back was turned to Garan V. These underground organizations reached out to other slave species in the Infinite Empire and found a, if distant, friend in the Hutts. The language began to circulate in the underground Garani forces as an optional place that they could flee to. When it didn't seem likely that they would be able to flee entirely, they made plans to launch a ship to try and continue their existence. They were able to launch a trio of colony ships under protection from the last nuclear arsenal where one was able to slip out of the system using stolen technology from the Infinite Empire and it's destination was unmarked on any charts other than for those who were aboard the ship...
