Name: Gaian
Designation: Sentient
Homeworld: Gaia
Language: Basic, Gaian (Including the Guon and Draon dialects)
Average height of adults: between 1.5 meters and 1.7 meters on average
Skin color: Varies between races. Usually tan to pale skin.
Hair color: Varies Between races. Usually darker hair.
Breathes: Type one atmosphere, oxygen

Strengths:
  • All Gaians are Force sensitive, but only certain members can utilize it due to their genetics concerning their special organs known as the six Chakras, and for no other reason than those genetics, those members may only use their telekinetic abilities on certain vaguely defined 'elements'. The elements that their race can as they call 'bend' are Water, Earth, Fire, and Air; however this is all a ruse as their genetics in the Chakra organs (which inherit bending traits from one parent or the other in the case of them being two separate types of bender, and bending being equally likely if only one parent is a bender) they are only restricted to Liquid, Solid, Energy, and Gas.
The ruse is caused by a psychological development consistent throughout the race making them believe only certain things can be bent due to perception. This creates a unique list of weaknesses along with strengths in the prospect of mentality. One could potentially break through this mental barrier and bend anything within their true spectrum of control, such as an Airbender bending water vapor, a Waterbender bending lava, and Earthbender bending ice. Firebending seems to be the only universally efficient bending technique, as energy is evident throughout every corner of the universe, it just so happens that fire is most visible and easiest to precieve commonly on Gaia and most other worlds; thus more firebenders bend fire than say light or basic chemical reactions.
  • If a Gaian could break away from their psychological weaknesses, they would be dangerously powerful to the extent of near godliness, such as a firebender during Sozin’s comet burning in the atmosphere as it passes by, or power regarding the day or night. The same applies to a Waterbender during a full moon, or having a moon at all. In the subconscious it is buried in them to follow these principals of what is observed when it comes to bending. Only those who of legendary status can break this barrier, and even then it is difficult for them to bend elements beyond the normal spectrum of observation.
  • A Firebenders strength comes from inner drive, the sun (and thus the day), and a strong heat and/or brightly light source (as in Sozin’s comet grant power to firebenders through brightness than true heat).
  • A Waterbenders strength comes from emotional state, the moon (and thus the night), and a source of water (H2O).
  • An Earthbenders strength comes from what they can stand on (except for Metal and wood, elements not naturally/commonly stood upon).
  • An Airbenders strength comes from what can be breathed (except water vapor, which is associated with steam and thus not naturally/commonly breathed in).
Weaknesses:
  • The greatest weakness every Gaian experiences is a mental block, that keeps them from bending in accordance to the Liquid, Solid, Energy, Gas theorem, and anything they believe and/or comprehend is required to bend (i.e. Waterbenders and the presence of the Moon, Firebenders and the presence of the Sun, ect…).
  • A Firebender is weakened by the absence of the/a sun.
  • A Waterbender is weakened by the absence of the moon.
  • An Earthbender is weakened by the appeared absence of solid/most commonly encountered physical substance.
  • An Airbender is weakened by enclosed spaces, perceiving that space is required to perform bending.
  • Known as “Chi Blockers”, there are non-benders who can train in the martial arts to target specific organs and muscles associated and directly linked to the Charkra Organs that enable bending. Any person can perform this action, and temporarily block a benders power.
Distinctions: They are usually hard to discern from an ordinary human on the outside, but they are indeed truly alien. Within them there is a complex nervous system that allows heightened reflexes when exploited to its fullest, along with a very strong immune system accounting for their exceptionally long lives. The brain of a Gaian is not completely located in the cranium, as bits of it are found throughout the body in varying sizes that they call Chakras. Chakras though, have a secondary role of increasing Force potential when they are cleared of certain aspects that they deal with. Two are located in the head, one in the throat, one in the heart, one in the abdominal area, one in the Sacrum, and one at the base of the spine. These are:
  • The Earth Chakra: Located in the base of the spine, this brain organ deals with Survival, and it weakens the Gaians Force potential when ruled by Fear.
  • The Water Chakra: Located in the Sacrum, this brain organ deals with Pleasure, and it weakens the Gaians Force potential when ruled by Guilt
  • The Fire Chakra: Located in the abdominal area (connect to the spine), this brain organ deals with the Gaians Willpower, and it weakens the Gaians Force potential when ruled by Shame.
  • The Air Chakra: Located wrapped around the heart in a net and connected to the spine by neural roots, this brain organ deals with Love, and it weakens the Gaians Force potential when ruled by Grief
  • The Sound Chakra: Located wrapped around the throat and connected to the spine, this brain organ deals with Truth, and it weakens the Gaians Force potential when ruled by Lies.
  • The Light Chakra: Located in the forehead area (the Third Eye), this brain organ deals with Insight, and it weakens the Gaians Force potential when ruled by Illusions
  • The Thought Chakra: The Main brain hub connected to the other Chakra organs but a net of Neural roots, it deals with a Gaians thought, specifically on purpose and importance in the universe. It too plays a hand on the Gaians force potential, dealing with what they call 'Pure cosmic energy' and it weakens the Gaians force potential when ruled by Earthly connections.

Average Lifespan: Between 100-200+ (250 is the oldest age ever recorded)
Races:
  • Fire Benders: Firebenders tend to have black or brown hair, amber, gold, brown, or gray eyes, and pale skin, though there are exceptions. Additionally, in terms of facial features, their eyes are often smaller and longer in shape along with higher nose bridges than members of other races. There is a prevalence of distinct cheekbones among the population as well. However there are also certain individuals with exceptions. These people can develop Pyrokinesis, but in truth they are limit to simple energy.
  • Water Benders: Ethnically homogeneous, members of both tribes typically have light or deep brown hair, sometimes black, blue or gray eyes, and a light brown skin tone. These people can develop Hydrokinesis, they are limited liquid matter, but only water psychologically.
  • Air Benders: Most Air Nomads have gray or brown eyes and a light complexion, along with black or brown hair when not shaven to show their cultural Tattoos, marking the path the Force travels through their bodies. These paths are universal among all Gaians. These people develop Aerokinesis, limited to the gas state of matter, but only the air they breathe due to psychology.
  • Earth Benders: Citizens of the Earth Kingdom tend to have black or brown hair; green, brown, or gray eyes; and often have dark skin tones, though many nobles have lighter complexions. These people can develop Geokinesis, limited to the solid state of matter, but only the most commonly felt/walked upon materials due to psychology.
  • Non Benders: These individuals could fit into any of the above races in accordance to location in the world, the only difference is that their Chakras are 'broken', an exceptionally common defect that populates more than half the world. They possess no telekinetic abilities.
  • An Avatar: Every generation for each world inhabited by Gaian's, there is born an individual who can utilize the force to bend all materials in the same ways as all four bending races. How their Chakras do this is unknown, as it is known to science now that Chakras are specifically built (according to genetics of the parents) to inherit only one of the four combinations, where if two were to be inherited the child dies, as tested in labs. Avatars have even been attempted to be recreated, but the result is the same: stillborn. A theory has arisen (that the Avatar's of recent approve of) is that an Avatar is a Force Anomaly themselves, and uses the force to artificially induce the combination by altering the genetics to accept four sets of Chakras at once (but any children they have can only inherit their birth Chakra combination). This is supported by the fact that the Avatar has the unique ability to reincarnate, and retain multiple force ghosts in order to use them in the Avatar state, the use of all the powers of an Avatar's 'past lives'. However though, the Avatar is not invincible, and by the knowledge of the ‘Spiritual’ form of the Avatar (When not a Gaian [in between death and rebirth {the overall Force anomaly that guides the will of the physical manifestation of the Avatar}]) that if killed in the Avatar state, the Avatar ceases to exist, and is permanently dead.
These races generally exist on all three worlds. Their Dynonyms would be Gaian, Guon, and Draon.

Diet: Their diets are similar to humans, and usually possess the same immunity to poisons as humans. However, they almost always have high metabolism, and as a result eat more often.

Communication: They speak in a way very similar to a human, being able to speak every language a human can. They seem to have very little in variety in languages; a fact speculated that they are united by the force to speak the same way, there are however exceptions.

Culture: It would seem that most of the cultures of ancient times are persistent in this world, and there has been little change culturally within the four nations. In fact, by the advice of the Avatar when encountering a global catastrophe to return to more natural lives, the lands of the four nations are relatively unchanged on Gaia, with huge cities in very isolated areas, leaving the rest for farmers and the like. Some still believe in the Spirit World and the faith is fast returning; along those lines, many of these believers truly believe that the Avatar is the mortal manifestation of Gaia, Guo, and Draon: the divine bridge's between the physical and the spiritual worlds. Over all though their culture varies greatly, and it can be divided in these basic categories:
  • Fire Nation: "The people of the Fire Nation have desire and will, and the energy and drive to achieve what they want."
— Iroh to Zuko on the nature of the Fire Nation

The Fire Nation's economy is one of the most powerful in the world, with a strong industrial sector and extensive technological developments. It is also known for its large, powerful military. Older men tend to sport large beards, mustaches, and sideburns, while younger men are usually clean-shaven, or wear small mustaches and goatees. Women usually wear their hair back, though for special occasions it may be piled on top of the head, or wrapped around a support. Female members of the aristocracy also tend to have long, pointed, well-manicured golden finger nails. Almost all citizens wear top-knots, often held by a decorative top-knot piece indicating their socioeconomic rank. Nobles and politicians tend to ornament their hair with a two pronged, flame-styled piece; a Prince or Princess would wear three pronged flames, and the Fire Lord wears a gold, five-pronged piece. A normal citizen might wear a one pronged piece.

Members of the army wear red and black uniforms of plated armor. The armor also may have gold trim or emblems on them. Traditional colors worn throughout the nation range from deep reds to darker browns, grays, and blacks, with occasional white, or pink. Many citizens wear shoulder spikes, the amount designating social standing, ordinary civilians wear one, nobles wear two, and the Fire Lord wears three, though there are exceptions to these rules.

Despite having a Firelord, it would seem that the political leader has become a figurehead. Now a days it is the Prime minister who has the power. However, a Firelord's will is still absolute when voiced by him or her. Firebenders also have many job opportunities, from providing fully renewable and reliable power through their bending, to beginning to understand plasma, energy, and even fusion for all there uses. A Firebender scientist is not uncommon to come across.

  • Earth Kingdom: "The people of the Earth Kingdom are diverse and strong. They are persistent and enduring."
— Iroh to Zuko on the nature of the Earth Kingdom

The people of the Earth Kingdom are proud and strong and adhere to a philosophy of peaceful coexistence and cooperation with the other nations of the world. Earthbenders use their abilities for defense and industry and fiercely defended their cities. It also has a large economy based on agriculture and limited industry. The Earth Kingdom is characterized by significant ethnic and cultural diversity, a consequence of the country's vast territorial expanse. As a result, it suffers from high levels of local autonomy and ethnic conflict, both of which began accelerating as the central government grew weak. Despite this division, the people's recognition of the Earth Kingdom as a single political entity is largely strengthened through the communal belief in a shared history and identity.

Traditional colors worn throughout the kingdom range from vibrant greens and yellows to more muted beige's and browns. The people usually style their hair comfortably for work or elaborately for striking impressions. Members of the army wear green and beige uniforms that may have yellow touches to them, and they hide their hair in a conical helmet. However, fashions in the Earth Kingdom vary greatly from one region to another. In the West and South, men typically wear their hair in a top-knot, ornamented with various holders and pins, and they often have beards and/or mustaches. Women living in western and southern parts of the Earth Kingdom wear their hair down or piled on top of their head. In Ba Sing Se, however, women usually wear their long hair wrapped around a support, embellished with tassels or flowers; men usually don a plain queue. Omashu citizens typically wear tunics over a long robe or pants, with their hair hidden by a small turban or hat. Farmers and other laborers wear conical straw hats secured to their heads by a string to protect them from the sun.

Again it would seem that the kings of old, hold their position in title only. Officially, the Earth Kingdom is in truth a confederacy, with a senate (constituting of Earth Kings) and a President (who technically has the same power as the Earth King). Today, many Earth benders find work in metal bending with the factory industries, helping to develop spacecraft for The Great Expansion.

  • Air Nomads: "The Air Nomads detached themselves from worldly concerns and found peace and freedom."
— Iroh to Zuko on the nature of the Air Nomads

The Air Nomads were wanderers by definition, but had four air temples, one at each corner of the globe, hidden away atop mountain ranges in the northern Earth Kingdom and on three remote islands. The theocratic Air Nomads were home to a monastic order of men and women who practiced airbending. Unlike the other nations, the people of the Air Nomads were, without any seen exception, all benders due to the high level of Chi and spirituality of their people. They were the most spiritual of all the cultures and lived in harmony with nature. They also were fun-loving and had a strong sense of humor. They have since recovered from the genocide that very nearly utterly annihilated their civilization generations ago from the beginning of the Hundred Year War just prior to the United Republic of Nation's founding. These descendants of Avatar Aang and Katara are no longer considered an endangered culture, appearing plentifully in their cultural arrows of mastery being publicly flaunted.

There is no true government of the Air Nomads despite being represented in the U.R.N., as they are more of a religion than anything else. However, it would seem in the culture that there is a council of Elders who make decisions that benefit their civilization. Airbenders today when they find the need too, can find a job as an expert zoologist/ecologist when in concern of life support systems upon spacecraft.

  • Water Tribes: "The people of the Water Tribe are capable of adapting to many things. They have a deep sense of community and love that holds them together through anything."
— Iroh to Zuko on the nature of the Water Tribe

The people of the Water Tribes are peaceful. They strive to live in harmony with nature and with the other nations of the world. There are two primary divisions of the Water Tribe, the Northern and the Southern. Waterbenders use their abilities for defense, never for aggression. Despite their peaceful nature, they would not back down from a fight. Waterbenders of the North and South haven't really gone beyond the ordinary tribal method of government. However this should not be used as a derogatory target to them as primitive, as they are the main source of medicinal knowledge and posses the most intimate knowledge of the Gaian body. They often work along side Airbenders to assist in the making of life support systems for spacecraft.

  • The U.R.N. (United Republic of Nations): "Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko transformed the Fire Nation colonies into the United Republic of Nations, a society where benders and non-benders from all over the world could live and thrive together in peace and harmony."
— Tenzin

The United Republic of Nations, more commonly known as the United Republic, is a sovereign state created by Avatar Aang and Fire Lord Zuko after the end of the Hundred Year War. It was formed from the former Fire Nation colonies within the western Earth Kingdom and was created to serve as a society where benders and non-benders from all four nations could live and thrive together in peace and harmony. The United Republic is known for having a unique culture, which was shaped by immigration and a technological revolution.

The capital of the United Republic is Republic City, a large, modern metropolis located on the shores of Yue Bay. From there, a political organization consisting of one representative from each nation, the United Republic Council governs the republic. This is the current form of government, and it is consider being the Umbrella that connects all nations into a single Sovereignty. They have become highly industrious, and have just recently entered the space age, with the help of every kind of bender. The culture is very diverse, but democratic; it is a cultural boiling pot that retains peaceful relations. However, they have expanded beyond the simple domain of Gaia, and begin to expand outwards, to touch the Stars. Thought the respect the Avatar's plea to a return to a natural order, the government utilizes its abundant resources to build massive ships dedicated to the purpose of interstellar travel. Plasma (fire) bender scientists have dedicated their entire lives to the creation of the hyperdrive, and finally they have the answer. They now have hundreds of explorer ships on the ready between all three systems under their control.

Technology level: Just entering Tier Two.

General behavior: Their behaviors vary greatly, but there are stereotypes among the four basic races.
  • Fire Benders: People of this race have unflinching will to accomplish one's goals, and their abilities are weakened without a drive. The original source of power in “Fire bending” was about energy and life, though this philosophy often fell by the way side and was instead replaced by anger, hatred, and lust for destruction. This mentality has eased considerably, returning to older, more ancient ways.
  • Water Benders: People of this race are resourceful, creative, and stress versatility while searching for advantageous situations.
  • Air Benders: People of this race are generally free flowing, fun loving, and do whatever they can to avoid conflict and resistance.
  • Earth Benders: People of this race are rigorous and can be quite serious. Tough and rigid, masters of Earth bending demand perfection and persistence from their pupils.
  • Non Benders: These individuals could fit into any of the above races (except for Air Nomads) in accordance to location in the world, the only difference being their Chakra's block out the Force entirely, and they could have a jealousy or hatred to those who can bend, as evident from the ancient, and still present Anti-bending movement.

History:
A Perceived Beginning

The history of the Gaians, is one of the longest in all of the Galaxy, with its own civilization lasting well over 50,000 years (as evident from the number of statues dedicated to the past lives of the Avatar, with something reminiscent of 300 statues per floor and an unspecified number of floors, with each Avatar living anywhere between 100 and 250 years [Kyoshi], is a nearly unfathomable number of years since the existence of Gaian civilization.) since the 'creation' of the Avatar. This time would then extend even further down memory lane when one is reminded that there was a time before the Avatar for an unspecified amount of time before the first elemental benders and Avatar.

Before the Gaians could bend the four elements, there is what the Gaians call Energy Bending; or the manipulation of the Chi (Force) within ourselves and others. This could be conceptualized as a pure form of telepathic ability as opposed to telekinetic. They could only manipulate what was within the souls (minds) of others and themselves. They could mend someone’s emotions or break them. It came to a point however when these emotional 'bendings' became so powerful that they began to influence the world around them. At first, it was pure telekinesis and energy manipulation; it was like any other force user. However, these where very dividing people who had their own views, and eventually through the process of evolution in their genes influencing their power over the force, began to manipulate only certain aspects of their environment. At first it was only through cultural belief that such things should be done in such ways, but eventually became embedded into them over the course of many thousands of years. Thus true bending as they know it was formed, Chi Bending was forgotten, and now the people upon Gaia had more reason than ever to war against each other.

War and Peace
In these times there is an unknown war in which all nations participated in, and because of their recklessness the world was nearly destroyed. Though in the culture of their civilization it is said that the Avatar is the mortal manifestation of the world, there is little evidence to enlighten this belief. However, it is observed that the Avatar (every Avatar) full heartedly believes this. Perhaps they are, but regardless the first Avatar was born during the end game of this war, and upon 'Mastering' the 'forms' of the bending arts (which in truth were barbaric and indeed quite crude) the Avatar was perceived as unstoppable. The first Avatar single handedly ended the War, and divided the Pangaea by Earth Bending. So then the world grew anew, separated with no contact to each other for many hundreds of years. The fire Nation had no boats then, and neither did any other nations. The Water Tribe (the original northern one) did possess a powerful navy however, but they lack exploration. For these hundreds of years there was peace, and the Avatar was all but completely forgotten, hidden as an ordinary bender out of many thousands in their respective nations.

The Avatar

As the styles became more complex and complete, so did the Avatar. It is said that perhaps in this time the Avatar could still distinctly remember his or her past lives, as they had so few of them to fall back upon. It would take many thousands of years before the Nations could more or less smoothly communicate, and allowing the Avatar to more easily learn all the elements, as it was meant to be. The Avatar was once again remembered when War began to plague the Water Tribe, splitting itself apart, brother pitted against brother; father against son. The War lasted for quite some time until the Avatar was old enough in the first place to be recognized as this strange individual, and then even longer while the world waited for the Avatar to reach the North Pole. What she found was ruthless and devastating. It hurt the Avatar profoundly, and in a grand display of absolute power the past lives that the Avatar began to forget, remembered one another, and connected as one in mortal form. The collective firepower of the Avatar absolutely overwhelmed the land, and it was agreed that the two groups would need to be separated. The Avatar had commanded the ancestors of the Southern Tribe to leave, and so a trek was ensued that traversed the world as they left the icy waste land above. The Avatar lead the expedition and it took several years to reach this new place with the technology of the day.

Many stops where made, as food and supplies where humbly given to them by each nation. Along the way though while they gathered supplies for the next stretch of the Journey the Avatar perfected her skill through the Master's she encountered, as even for his age he was not a full Avatar as the Gaian know today. They were very close to this new land when the Avatar was almost completely destroyed, forever. The South Pole did not exist then, and so when it was observed upon their reaching the destination that there was no land to settle, the Tribesmen thought the Avatar had betrayed them. They plotted to kill her for tricking them by leading them astray, while there enemies sat home in comfort. However, the Avatar indeed had not betrayed them. It was not to her knowledge that there was no land here, but it did not matter to her, or her past lives. She knew from her last connection with herself would bring the power necessary to create land that had never been. All the years she had been traveling she had been mastering the elements, but for each lesson learned the more she was connected to herself, and connected to the spirit world (possibly imagined) The Avatar demonstrated the true power of nature, and how it was wielded by a god, rather than a mere mortal. The world’s most powerful bending had been observed, as she raised the earth of the bottom of Gaia, and created the South Pole. However, as she was doing this, the plotting Tribesmen had literally back stabbed her, and she very nearly died from the attempt on her life. The chain had almost been broken, but when the water benders saw what the Avatar had done for them, they realized their mistake. It took several months for her to awaken, but when she did the benders had been severely punished, with the removal of their bending.

The Hundred Years War
The greatest war in recorded history that nearly lead to the complete and utter destruction of the natural balance in Gaia, with the Air Nomad Genocide marking the beginning of the war. The War began with the absence of the Avatar, and it gave the Fire nation their first objective in order to achieve victory: Destroy the next nation in the Avatar reincarnation cycle. The war preludes nearly 38 years before its beginning, when Fire Lord Sozin began to feel that because his nation was so fortunate in so many ways, that he should "share" this prosperity with the rest of the world. He spoke about his plan to his best friend, Avatar Roku, and tried to convince him to join him on his quest to expand "the most successful empire in history". Roku vehemently refused to help him and reminded his long-time friend that the four nations were meant to be just what they were: four. It was assumed that there is when these fanatical ideas ended, but it was not so. When Avatar Roku discovered that Fire Nation colonies had been established in the Earth Kingdom, the furious Avatar intervened, and made sure this time that the ambitious Fire Lord would not continue through threat of force. For 12 years it once again appeared as if all was well and that no more thoughts of a Global Empire arose.

However, twenty-five years later, Roku's home island was consumed in a volcanic eruption so massive that Sozin could see and feel it from a hundred miles away, and he flew in on his dragon to assist his old friend. The two used their bending to try to contain the lava flow, but they were hindered by poisonous gases, which eventually overwhelmed Roku, leaving him lying on the ground and begging for his old friend's help. Sozin suddenly realized, however, that Roku's death would allow him to fulfill his plans, and he left his old friend to die. The new Avatar was then born into the Air Nomads as Aang. Another twelve years after Roku had died, Sozin used the return of a comet, a celestial event that grants firebender near-unlimited power, to deliver a devastating first blow to the other nations and start the war.

The Fire Nation, taking advantage of the absence of the Avatar and their military and technological superiority for most of the war, was able to wreak destruction and widespread loss of life in the other nations. But like all wars, they must come to an end. The Hundred Year War ended roughly a year following the reappearance of the Avatar, Aang, due to a combination of efforts of the remaining two nations, the Avatar's group's destruction of the air fleet meant to use Sozin's Comet to deliver the killing blow to the Earth Kingdom, Aang's victory over Phoenix King Ozai, and the newly crowned Fire Lord Zuko's intention to restore peace and harmony among the four nations.

The Fire Nation, following the Avatar's return shifted their strategy to become more aggressive, taking bigger risks to deliver killing blows to their opposition and therefore make any possible intervention by Aang too late. This strategy produced colossal setbacks for the Fire Nation when the Avatar became involved. For example, the Fire Nation launched a massive invasion of the North Pole when they realized that Aang was taking refuge there, and suffered a crushing defeat at the last second when the Ocean Spirit and Avatar intervened. Similarly, an effort to breach the walls of Ba Sing Se utilizing a giant drill was also thwarted. However, simultaneously immense victories were also won such as the surrender of Omashu and the infiltration and conquest of Ba Sing Se.

In the end, the sudden upstart of rebellions in Fire Nation-controlled territory in the Earth Kingdom (including Omashu), the simultaneous defeat of Ozai, the reversal of the conquest of Ba Sing Se by the White Lotus, and weariness of one hundred years of continuous war likely made the people of the Fire Nation very much open to Fire Lord Zuko's rule and his intention to restore peace. It was thus then, that a new nation arose to help ensure a long lasting peace in order to avoid another Great War. This nation was the United Republic of Nations, and it became even more successful than any nation utilizing many technological advancements and propelling them at incredible speeds of progress. So then, the Space Age was inevitable.

New Ages
For many years the unity of the U.R.N. was almost never in question. It began strong, it faced internal adversary and continued to exist when the embers of heating the boiling pot of the new nation cooled enough for it to proceed with progress. With the advent of all these new technologies, the entire world experienced a golden age. Every corner of the globe prospered, and grew to obese proportions. At first all was well, and good in the world. No though headed the warnings of the Avatar, whom they began to believe as something obsolete. They had forgotten that the purpose of the Avatar in balancing the peoples of Gaia was not for their benefit, but to keep the world from dying, and being destroyed by unnatural hands. But it was through this that the world began to crumble, and collapse, where the Golden Age, took a dire turn for the worst. The Avatar had warned them that over use of technology would upset the balance of Gaia, as it would destroy nature itself, to be eaten by machines. They labeled him a fool, called him an idiot, and cast him aside. They ignored his warnings, and that is when he disappeared. He knew what was to happen, of how they would beg to save them from themselves with his return and then find that he would do no such thing. They would panic, they would become desperate, they would begin to accept anything as reality. They had thrown so much pollutants into the air through the burning of gasoline and coal and every other manner of energy waste that the skies had literally turned grey, where water would truly boil the skin on contact through its acidity, how no longer grass would grow in its native land, and the cultures of the polar ice caps would begin to vanish with the melting ice. They had taken a poison and then amplified it by ten, and the result was devastating.

For all their renowned technology nothing could stop what they had started, as nature now controlled it, a force that cannot be dealt with. As the world around them began to destroy itself, the people once again tried to make a return to nature, by revitalizing the Bending cultures, to use them in an effort to reverse the plague they had unleashed. It helped to slow down the planetary sickness, but without the Avatar they were hopeless. This was what the second Hundred Years looked like. But it was not fought with battleships or men, kings or leaders, this was not the second deranged line of Rulers in the Fire Nation who longed to attack again. This was a new war, and it was fought between civilization itself against the planet, and against time. When it came around that they had found the next Avatar, they where desperate to train her. She was given all the power in the world, entrusted with all the knowledge they had gained from their return to natural ways, and gave her sole reign over everything they knew, loved, and hoped to save from their parents misguidance.

It would take many more years, and far more difficulty to ensure the world was safe, as this Avatar had been made spoiled, and had also been thrust with too much stress and responsibility too soon. Although they had trusted that her past lives would help her, known the less she had not been raised right. The took advantage of all the power in the world for some time, and abused it through a false ignorance of the problem she was entrusted with. She was the first Avatar to show a disinterest in Gaian affairs, believing that they were all fools deserving of their fate. It certainly ran the lesson home upon the people of Gaia that they depended upon the Avatar's wisdom, whose soul is as old as civilization itself. When they began to utterly beg to the Avatar, the girl finally cracked, she looked upon the weeping faces of thousands who were suffering from the effects of this global catastrophe. Their morning of their own lives was enough to finally break through this Avatar's thick head of the true meaning of being an Avatar. It was upon this day that the Avatar truly returned, upon her knees she wept as her past lives had come to her for the first time, finally confirming what she had so longed to believe in, despite her personality. She was now truly the Avatar, and with the forces of all nature, and command of the entire planet of Gaia, the fully realized Avatar cleansed the skies and rivers, and reshaped the world to the way it had been. But it came at a price.

Everything they had ever built that used energy, and created waste had pumped so much into the skies and seas, there was simply no where for it to go. So the Avatar made the ultimate sacrifice, and brought it to the moon where she died. Now the moon bares a crater where the Avatar's final moments took place. It reminds the world of the sacrifice the Avatar made to protect them from ultimate annihilation. Order was once again restored to the world, but now progress would need to continue, but upon a different path. Now the technological advancements of the Gaia's were ensured to be reversible, so that any damage done can just as easily be repaired. A new Golden age had erupted, but it once again was peppered with opposition. Specifically it was the population, soon the populations of the world would reach levels unseen since before the Dark Age of Gaia. It was then that they decided that the Avatar had sent them a message in her final sacrifice, that it was too the moon that there future was held.

Thus it was then the ambition of the world to reach the moon. So then it was done, the benders across the world converged to share ideas to achieve their goal, and it was soon realized that no nation alone could accomplish the task, thus when the ship had finally touched down upon the foreign body it was a rejoice across the world, in every nation of every home. Many years would go by in their achievements, and they continued to return to the moon when the times were most convenient, and the entire solar system would eventually be enveloped. But there was small problem unique to anything the Gaian's had ever had to face in all of their 50,000 year long history. The birth, of a second Avatar.

Two Avatars?
Since the dawn of the Avatar, there has only ever been one. Only one force of nature, whom had the power over all elements of the universe. There was only ever one God of the entire populous of Gaia, because of course there was only one Gaia. Thus there had only ever been one manifestation of Gaia (at least in belief), but with the advent of space travel things have changed. Upon reaching their second world in the Galaxy, all seemed ordinary. With a new habitable world in which to settle, there was peace for a long time, but rivalries arose. By the time the third or fourth generation rolled around it was Vendetta everywhere, gangs, wars, mayhem everywhere. The Government pleaded with the Avatar to intervene, and it took much convincing. It surprised them that the Avatar simply had not jumped at the chance to save lives on this increasingly crime ridden world with a hundred separate factions, but what mystics think and believe might be true, in that the Avatar's only concern is Gaia. The Avatar in this sense only acts as a bandage over the gashing wound that was the Gaians, or perhaps the planets sole white blood cell to attack the disease upon the surface. It was however through the human compassion infused within the Avatar that finally led him to touch a first foot upon the soil of an alien world, circling an alien star, in an alien night sky. Like all benders who leave Gaia, the Avatar experienced a momentary disconnection with his bending, as his Chakra's were not yet familiar with the alien composition, but like the rest soon regained the ability.

At first the Avatar had tried to negotiate over 200 years of hate, but that was evidently not going to work, and soon disintegrated into violence. The Avatar was at a loss as what to do, and as much as he tried to resist his use of force it inevitably came to be the only way. For a whole year the Avatar put down these Vendetta's through force, and conquered the planet with an Iron fist of Peace. The people below though began to see the Avatar as a tyrant rather than a savior of the ensuing violence that would have shed blood if not for the Avatar. The short sighted people revolted as one against the Avatar. He tried to control them, to calm them. He reminded them that he had negotiated with them first, that their anger's source derived from their own mistakes and failings, and the mistakes and failings of their fore bearers. The Avatar fought bravely, and killed no one, but eventually the sheer mass of the revolt overwhelmed, overpowered, and eventually took the Avatar's life. With this these horribly united people believed their troubles were over, but it was not so. The new Avatar was born on Gaia, as usual to the next in the cycle. However, little to the knowledge of the Order of the White Lotus (O.W.L.) another child bearing the powers and abilities of the Avatar was born to benders upon this new world. The parents intelligently hid the child from society, and attempted to suppress her powers from showing. It had worked for some time, but it was not like an Avatar to sit back and watch their world burn to the ground, thus when she was 17 (the age of which most Avatar's are realized to be who they are) she rebelled. She openly declared, and demonstrated her ability (shaking the whole of Civilization) and sought Master's to train her.

The initial outrage was more in confusion than in hate, and thus it bought her time to establish herself permanently on the planet. She avoided the law frequently, and bought the affection and loyalty of politicians in order to help her restore her planets balance. She was protected by some of the best until she was adequately trained. And then the Avatar of Guo, Avatar Kami unleashed hell upon the world as she separated the people in the likeness of Gaia. The amazing power of this proclaimed Avatar brought strife to the one of Gaia, and in a fury traveled to the land to confront her. There was little talking upon their meeting, and nearly immediately ensued in an epic battle. The display from both of their awesome firepower frightened them more than conventional firepower. Although difficult, the battle ended in a relative stalemate, convincing the Gaian Avatar that the Guon Avatar was just as legitimate as he was, and it also instilled confidence in the populous that their Avatar was in their best interest (rather than the Gaian one). When she died many were stricken with grief, that perhaps she would be the only abnormality of the Avatar to ever happen. But after another 17 years a new Guon Avatar was declared legitimate, continuing in a reincarnation cycle similar to the original, but within accordance to the slightly different climate of Guo.

But it did not stop at two. For one reason or another, for every planet that was gained a new Avatar would rise to separate and keep balance within Gaian civilization. It would come to pass that eventually it would be an Avatar's duty to peacefully instill a world with an Avatar "spirit". It was a holy ritual that truly worked, as now without an Avatar's blessing a planet that generates its own Avatar is bound to be indifferent to civilization, or even malevolent.

Current Age
Now the Gaian race is a small Nation of three worlds: Gaia, Guo, and Draon. Gaia is the Spiritual Capitol of the entire race, where one can be free of most electronics, and can find enlightenment in healing the still broken world. It is still divided into the four nations, but they take great consideration into the words of the Avatar. Guo is the Economic Capital, pumping out loads of technology and hardware thanks to it's mineral richness. Draon is the Political Capitol, dealing with all matters of the state in the United Republic of Nations. The Gaians have an advanced fleet of ships, most of them explorers and the other half dealing with policing the region. Most ships are built by benders, and is then usually slightly unique from another ship built by the same company. They have only recently discovered that there is a greater galaxy, and due to the shock it has once again been questioned wether or not an Avatar's duty is soley to the planet the originate. Avatar Haru of Gaia has been leading the exploration for several months, although for how long he can keep this up and ensure that Gaia is safe from threats, because he is old, and dying.

Notable Player-Characters: Avatar Haru (Not officially yet, no Character sheet.)
Intent: Not sure if this would fall under the "Undermine the integrity of Star Wars” category and I hope it doesn't, but I would like to create this race to bridge and connect the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender (and Legend of Korra) to Star Wars. Also, elements are cool, and all the cool kids bend stuff, so... enjoy!

PS: I used a lot of information from the ATLA wikia: http://avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Avatar_Wiki:About

Jhar, simply put; this is a blatant copy of the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise material. For numerous reasons (Setting, conflict of genre, legal, etc), we cannot accept this race. Most of the material here is copied straight from the Avatar wiki. The Species creation forum is a place where original races are put up for consideration. I need to stress that last part; original.

Now, if you were to take this whole idea, rename all of it, and put new and creative spins on it, there by changing the race from a mere copy-and-paste to a true unique species for the Star Wars galaxy, then we might revisit the idea here. But for now, there is simple no way we can accept this race.

One final note; have you looked into the Shapes of Kro Var? You might find a number of things in there that would appeal to your interest.

I'm not trying to be a downer here, but this is very obviously Avatar: The Last Airbender, and would do better as a submission at a Avatar: The Last Airbender role-playing forum than at a Star Wars Role-playing Forum...

Hhmm, fine. I'll simply do this stuff under as Non-Canon threads. Would it be fine if there was a faction dedicated to non-canon? Maybe not specifically for this? Perhaps as an umbrella for all the Non-canon materials others would want? But I understand and I was afraid that perhaps this would be the case. Thank you for looking it over so quickly however, thank you :)

Oh, and I did not know that the Kro Var people existed! Perhaps I will make a psuedo Avatar culture that is simply the Kro Var? (There by not needing this application)

Anything done in the Non-canon forums isn't moderated or limited, barring infringement of a rule as part of the greater board. If you want to take this over to the Non-Canon area, you're more than welcome to.

There isn't one really, you just mark your thread as Non-Canon. I just asked if possibly there could be a faction dedicated to all Non-Canon needs.

All factions are for the official timeline, so no, no faction dedicated to non-canon needs. Sorry, there just isn't the want for it, and we're still new, and we're still very much a Star Wars board.
