Festival of The Skyborn. (Public IC Thread)

Night-in-Lyon2.jpg
Once more the galaxy had been invited to a night of peace and lights, stars in the sky and crafted by the hands of mortals on the ground. It was the second annual Festival of the Skyborn to which those who stood on Kesh were treated to once more. A holiday that had been created to remember the history and culture of the Keshiri and to bring people together for a single night.
His hands crossed behind him as what was once thought up as a ball had been expanded. Tahv was busier than it had ever been before, its streets were filled with people, their were bright lights lining the streets and the Circle Eternal was open with its view of the stars unobstructed by lights, creating a spectacular view of the stars. Solan had ordered fireworks prepared and this celebration’s highpoint would be this night as it had been going on and being prepared for several days now.
The entire thing was a place for people to relax, there would be no fighting today if he had anything to say about it. The event broadcasted throughout the galaxy, a night of peace, beauty, serene and clean air that held excitement and wonder. There remained first the Circle Eternal, a garden of absolute beauty with as little light as possible. It contained numerous flowers and flora of uncountable variety with the glow of small insects filling the air of the once public garden. The fountain letting a cool jet of water into the air and collecting as the statues stood with a watchful and peaceful gaze.
(Gonna have to imagine this one... no Pictures fit my dream of this place.)
The main streets, filled by shops and stands, selling all kinds of merchandise from flowers, to food, to clothing and masks. The lights adorning the buildings glowed softly and crossed over the streets like stars themselves. The scents of the air, a gentle breeze letting the scents of food and the crisp night air flow softly over those occupying the streets. Pulling at the strings of people’s hearts and loosening their muscles. The Starports, busy constantly in the past day were shut down for the night in Tahv at least, airfields and transport cleared several miles away in order to not obstruct the view of anyone whom would look up and see the stars above which which the Festival got its name.

A Ball in the palace for those of which saw themselves as to be here for a more stately way of celebration. Its doors were opened for those of which saw themselves, though it was not the only place that would hear the sounds of soft music for which set the peaceful mood. Great forums, normally cluttered by traffic and raging mobs were cleared out to allow for a much greater expanse for dancing. The sound of the many songs carried on that same crisp night air, out of the palace itself and through the very people that swarmed over the city for this event.

The plains outside the city open and watched, with all kinds of different things to find as well as the river that ran near the city filled with ancient styled boats for which people to be alone and together. Crafted wooden with very little more about them to be held. Simple two an ships that would be useable by any as long as they could find one. The flow of the water bringing them calmly down it to be alone and together under the sky. The water itself was as cool as the night air, calm and only the ripple of the boats disturbing it.

(Solan's IC section)

Solan all the while walked away from the city with his own plans for the night. He had abandoned his guards and his attendants, taking with him a simple device that he had bought a while back to look into the night sky with. It was a consumer telescope, meant to see the stars far off as if they were a million times closer and he smiled as his hands tightened on the strap of the bag.
He had no reason to remain around others for once, infact her felt tonight was a night he could truly spend a moment of free time exploring the old enjoyments he long forgot. As such there was also the case of a certain wooden instrument slung over his other shoulder as he walked into the plains outside the city.
It had been nice, walking through the streets with his eyes watching those around him. A few had recognized him but largely he had hidden himself from the people in the streets, letting them enjoy their night without him causing a ruckus. He remembered the past balls as he had walked through the streets though.
First there had been those moments he spent long ago, talking to his old friend he never saw anymore. He wondered if Lady Kay was doing well, curious if she spent her days fighting the hutts in his absence or if she had found more stable and less risky work. Then there was Taeli Rae. Another friend who he had not talked with for a long time. He wondered how she was doing with her products, and how he had had so little time to talk about business or her personal life.
Then there were those from the Empire that he was going to beat upside the head. Aedan and Romeo, two of his closest Allies in the past and old friends he could call on for a fight or a chat depending on their moods. He liked that about them, it was simple, and to be honest it made life easier when it came to dealing with those two as he could simply knock heads with them one day, than have a drink the next.
There had also been old fires he thought about for the moment. His first love, dead because of a disease he had not known how to cure and lost without knowing he had left behind a kid. Then there was Genevieve, who had gone crazy and become a shadow of her former self. A friend he would have stood beside without question had she not taken the road that she had so long ago. He also thought about Seanna for a moment, wondering how she was after all this time and curious what things are like for her with the Mandalorians she calls family now.
All the past people made him curious about how life would have changed without them. He laughed internally as his hand slung off the two cases, letting the touch the earth under him as he sat down on the grass out in the fields around Tahv. His hand withdrawing the violin from its case and as he closed his eyes and mind to the world he breathed in. He was going to enjoy the night, he knew that there was something different about it but for all he could tell it was going to be a beautiful night.

Free time...something very new to Nara. Nara had previously been a chief medic for the ragtag Resistance group, which rarely offered time to enjoy the simple things in life. Nara used to spend most of her days hiding away on dangerous remote worlds tending to the small team of fighters. It was a profession that Nara was proud of. Patching up dashing men and women and listening to their wild stories excited her beyond belief. However like Empires, small groups rise and fall too - Difference was the group she was a member did not rise far and fell pretty quickly. Nara is the kind of girl who likes to try and find the good in things. Although she cared deeply for the Resistance, she saw this as time to make a fresh new start.

According to a few other ex Resistance members who were friends with Nara, that time could wait. Nara was eager to get out into the galaxy and immediately find a new job, but her friends had heard of well praised festival that was currently happening on Kesh. Nara was hesitant at first about going but her friends were persistent and finally won her over. A little fun would not hurt her she was told.

The night was long for Nara. She and a group of three other ex resistance members spent time strolling around the amazing festival. They participated in numerous street games, eat a lot of nice food and just generally had a good time. It did not take her friends long to start pounding the alcohol though. Nara was not a big drinker nor was she feeling in the mood for alcohol, but she was not going to stop her friends having a good time.

It had been about 2 hours since they had arrived at the festival and her friends were now drunk and rowdy. She hated to admit but it was now becoming a bit much for her. "Guys it's a bit crowded, i'm going to fresh air. Don't worry. I will catch up" Nara said to her stumbling friends. After a few minutes of protest they decided to let her go. She needed to get out of here. Nara was not used to such big crowds so she figured a walk near the fields would be nice.
Nara left the bustling festival and approached a quiet field. She took a small moment to take in a deep breath of the fresher air here which was not polluted by hundreds of people. It was then when Nara heard an odd sound.
"Is that music?" She quietly mumbled to herself.

Nara's inquisitive mind led her to investigate. She found a young man sitting alone in a field playing the violin. After watching him for a few minutes she decided to make her presence known.

"You play that instrument beautifully" She exclaimed to the man.

He drew his hand back and forth. Using slow and deliberate movements to let the sound carry on the air and fill his mind. He had no worries that night, so it was going to be one spent for remembering the past and looking towards the future. Of course, that was until he heard a voice that he had not expected and for a moment, he almost doubted hearing it until his mind alerted him that he had actually heard it. His head turned to look slightly behind him and in the newcomer's direction, watching her for a few seconds before moving to observe her more closely.

She was someone he had not seen before, which was not unusual but what was was that he had met her away from the city. For a moment, he wondered if it was the force doing something strange but in the end, he chopped it up to coincidences seeing as it was clear this woman was not looking for anything and he himself had not been reaching out to draw anyone towards him. IT was a bit strange though none the less to see someone else so she was a curious sight.

He let the woman's features etch themselves into his mind. He figured that if he could remember her it would be easier to look out for her if there was some other intent for showing up. "I thank you for the words but must say I am surprised to see someone else out here. Not that it is impossible but I would have thought the festival would be far more interesting than anything out here."

Nara watched the man carefully. Although it was she who approached him first, her cautious mind still told her to be wary of every new person she met. Her mind had not actually clocked that it was a little strange that this man was out in a field by himself playing music. But the sheer oddness of it was what intrigued her and forced her to investigate. This night was supposed to be a good night, one to remember and the last thing she needed was to run into any trouble.

After the two had somewhat of a curious stare down, Nara looked over her shoulder at the festival in the distance. The thought of going back crossed her mind. When she looked back towards the man she noticed that he was now a little bit closer to her. Nara's body stiffened slightly as if she was expecting something to happen. After all, running into that one bad person would just be her luck.

It seems the two had something in common. They were both currently scanning each other with their eyes as if they were trying to make a mental map of each other. Nara maintained her stiffened posture, until the man actually spoke to her. His tone seemed calm and collected. He thanked Nara for her compliment which caused her body to loosen up and a small smile crept upon her soft lips.

"Oh...You are welcome! Trust me i am just as surprised as you are. The festival was just so busy, i figured i could do with some fresh air."

Nara tucked some of her dyed light brown hair behind her ear.

"Are you out for similar reasons? it seems rather odd that somebody would come all the way to Kesh to play the violin.....in a field"

Nara said whilst pointing to his instrument. She had not idea of who he was so she just assumed he was a tourist here to enjoy the festivities much like she was.

"I actually live on the planet, so i didn't really have to come all the way to Kesh for anything to be honest." He smiled and went to lean back and lay on the grass now with her studied enough to leave the image in his mind. Not that he needed it but it was better to know the person you are talking to rather than not. And to be fair, as far as he knew she could be a threat to him and simply came out here to dispose of him while no one else was around. It was of course a very bad idea considering he still had both his sabers hidden from her view, but none the less.

With his eyes closing he let the force take over in terms of his sight. At this point it was reactionary and he really didn't need to concentrate on it as significantly as he had in the past, so he could relax while still having her in sight. "As for my reason for being out here. Ive seen enough balls and festivals to last me a life time... something also told me that i would enjoy the night air out here alittle bit better for some reason. Not sure why quite yet, but im sure there is a reason for the feeling. How about you?"
