DESCRIPTION

During the event hosted by the South Systems' Bazaar, Czerka Arms successfully won an auction in which several thousand kilograms of Phrikite Ore were up for bid. With such a resource at the company's disposal, the question that formed within Tyri Lsu's mind was what to do with it. After brainstorming with a variety of designers, the CEO of the company decided to dedicate a very small percentage of the total cache to the creation of a protective measure that would be appropriate for individuals of his position: for politicians and businessmen cannot simply roam about wearing full suits of armor. In light of the shaky political landscape of the Galaxy at present, Tyri felt it necessary to formulate some means of defense for himself and the upper echelon of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. What he and his collaborators devised was something inconspicuous: business attire composed of Phrik, Armorweave, and Shell Spider Silk; the latter material selected for its famed usage within the Confederacy's own Templar Armor and its defensive properties.

In order to accomplish this particular project, several kilograms of Phrik were reduced to fine fibers. These fibers were then expertly woven into the aforementioned Shell Spider Silk in order to form the final material. From here, a total of twenty sets were crafted. Each consists of a pair of slacks, a button-up, long-sleeve dress shirt, and a tie. In terms of defensive capabilities, the Executive-class Formal Wear, as it mainly composed of Phrik fibers, offers a limited resistant against the blades of lightsabers. As a whole, the attire is able to withstand glancing blows or a few bonafide strikes before rending apart. Furthermore, it has a limited capacity to withstand the blows of blasters and vibroblades. In order to account for the issue of a lightsaber's heat, it is noted that a light, sleeveless "T-Shirt" and a matching pair of "shorts" composed of armorweave was incorporated. This is intended to be worn underneath the shirt and slacks in order to protect the body from the heat of a saber upon impact. It is to be noted that this measure does not allow the formal wear to dissipate blaster bolts and serves only in a heat management role; and also leaves the arms, lower legs, and head vulnerable. While far from being invincible, the sets are a capable means of personal protection for wear by important individuals within the upper echelon of the Confederacy.

[member="Tyri Lsu"] - Before we can proceed, I need a link to the original dev thread which secured the phrik. I need a paper trail past the auction.

That handles the compromising of the physical structure, but there's also the heat issue at play. On the admittedly iffy theory that something this thin could handle a solid lightsabre strike, the flesh under the fabric would get cooked.

Added a light bodysuit of armorweave underneath the formal wear. It'll replace the typical T-shirt and whatnot and will serve to address the heat issue. As noted, it does not improve the defensive capabilities of the formal wear aside from addressing the aforementioned lightsaber heat issue.

[member="Tyri Lsu"] - Hm. Remember, not all armorweave is created equal; consider Zam Wesell's suit doing nothing against Obi-Wan's sabre chop. I can sorta accept dress clothes made from uberthin phrik fibers and such, since beskar-infused cloth is canon, but I've pondered this and I'm pretty sure the heat from a solid hit is the price you're going to have to pay for making it this thin and visually unobtrusive. I'll allow the armorweave for shorts and a sleeveless t-shirt to protect the abdomen and torso.
