  • Hyperdrive Class: Average (Class 2.2 Hyperdrive, Class 12 backup)
Special Features: N/A
Strengths:
  • Battleship: The Essex has a very powerful arament and armor, and can operate independently from larger capital ships in military operations.
  • Giant Slayer: It can fight some considerably larger craft for long periods of time, even being able to successfully engage light Destroyers.
  • Blockade Holder: Its powerful offensive and defensive capabilities let it hold a planetary blockade by itself or with another Essex unless attacked by a larger craft, and it won't go down without a fight.
  • Hidden Command Bridge: With no obvious command structure, bombers are denied a big target. The ship is angled that the command bridge still gets some good views of the battle.
Weaknesses:
  • Starfighter Assualt: Even though its shielding can block most basic starfighter blasts long enough for point-defense lasers to take them out, it has a bit of trouble with bombers. Enough proton torpedoes can cripple and even destroy the Essex cruiser, especially if focused in one spot.
  • No Carriers Here: The Essex is not a carrier, it can't even hold starfighters. It requires carriers for starfighter support.
Description:
Crew: Skeleton is 70, optimal is 650. An Essex can hold up to 5,000 passengers.
Consumables: 2 years
Cargo Capacity: 8,000 metric tons
Escape Pods: 50 (15 people maximum)

Due to Ne-Cal's small size, changed from Limited to Unique. The only one is the Essex, and it's owned by Kaloo.

Per the rules, the Max Length of a vessel affiliated with an individual is 500m. Similarly, the max length of a vessel that can be produced by a Tier 1 Company is 400m.

The easiest solution to this would be to rank up your company to T2, which would allow you to produce ships up to 800m in length, then affiliated the ship with the company. It would also allow you to produce this vessel under Limited.

Alternatively, you could edit the vessel down to Frigate sized and go that route.

I do want to note that I like the sub, it's got a distinct character based around its strengths and weaknesses. Let me know what you're thinking and I'll be happy to work with you from there.

I'm gonna do a remake of the Essex-class, probaly much smaller. Archive this one and read the new one.

Also, Ne-Cal is still Tier 1 for now.
