Description:
DuraSuits were created to help answer the lack of decent, protective clothing available for refugees displaced by the various rising galactic conflicts. Made from Duraflex, a blend of Durafiber, Aeien Silk and modified heat crystal weave, DuraSuits are comfortable, form fitting clothing meant to be a temporary solution. DuraSuits do not tear easily and is able to stand up to most environmental hazards including sandstorms, blizzards and heavy rain. It is important to note that DuraSuits will wear out over time and repeated exposure to harsh elements, though at a slower rate. The modified warming crystal weave used in the Duraflex fabric helps to regulate body heat, keeping the wearer at a relatively normal body temperature for their species despite the condition of their surroundings. The fabric blend is also treated with a waterproof coating, ensuring that the wearer stays dry. This helps prevent conditions such as hypothermia and trenchfoot, given that the wearer may be in the same DuraSuit for days at a time. DuraSuits are available in a variety of basic sizes to accommodate the needs of different species. Given that the fabric has difficulties taking up certain dyes, DuraSuits are only available in dark blue, black and dark brown. Depending on the species in question, hats/gloves/other articles of clothing may come with the DuraSuit.
DuraSuits were made primarily with survival in temporary conditions in mind. As such, they are fairly light, flexible and comfortable—but provide no additional resistance against weapons of any sort. While a scrape on a rock will not cause tearing, the fabric can easily be punctured by a knife, pierced with a blaster or burned by a lightsaber.
