DESCRIPTION

Devorah's Song is the name bestowed upon the unique, Sith Sword created by the combined efforts of Isley Verd and his half-sibling; after whom the blade is named. As a whole, the weapon is the definition of a standard Sith Sword and was created with the intention of testing Isley's knowledge of Sith Alchemy whilst also beginning Devorah's tutelage in the art. To begin, the base metal utilized in the creation of Devorah's Song was Desh-Terenthium: an alloy famed for its superbly lightweight. This particular substance was chosen due to the fact that the alchemical process generally caused Sith Swords to be heavy and therefore required great strength in order to effectively wield them. However, through utilizing Desh-Terenthium, this particular fact is by-passed and Devorah's Song thereby enjoys a weight reminiscent of Songsteel or other light metals.

Like all Sith Swords, Devorah's Song possesses a great affinity for the Dark Side of the Force and also has a reversed, magnetic polarity. The purpose of the latter feature is to allow the blade to act as a high-temperature superconductor that can deflect blaster bolts and other energy-based weaponry with ease. Furthermore, the alchemical process bestowed upon the blade the ability to resist the blades of lightsabers. Furthermore, the surface of the blade is highly reflective as well, allowing it to deflect laser beams and other light-based weapons much akin to a mirror. On the subject of its relationship with the Force, Devorah's Song acts as a focal point for the Dark Side energies of its wielder and acts as a refiner for his or her control. This results in the elevation of the wielder to a literal nexus of the Dark Side.

Lastly, like all Sith Swords, Devorah's Song has an uncanny relationship with force-based discharges of electricity. The blade acts as a lightning rod, attracting and storing the energy within its form. Then, upon making contact with a physical object, the stored and amplified energies are discharged; often with exceptional results. As a whole, Devorah's Song does not differ at all from any Sith Sword, save for a single feature added for purely aesthetic effect. Through the incorporation of an energy crystal, whose form was reduced to dust and scattered about the red-hot blade, the Force physically manifests its presence. Upon releasing Devorah's song from its scabbard, which is composed entirely of Resinwood, the Force courses through the length of its blade; manifesting in a literal nimbus of energy reminiscent of a flame.

However, as aforementioned, this feature is quite literally for aesthetic effect as Devorah's Song is a standard Sith Sword in every way.

In terms of appearance, Devorah's Song appears as a sword of moderate length with a crossguard-hilt composed of the same, alchemically-treated metal as the blade. It's handle is composed primarily of Resinwood, but has also been treated in the same manner as to grant it resistance to the blades of lightsabers as well. Upon the surface of the blade, engraved into its surface in Mando'a, are the words: "One Edge to Defend." On the opposing side of the blade, another saying is engraved into the metal, reading: "One Edge to Defeat." Lastly, alongside the sword is a scabbard of pure Resinwood that has been engraved with a depiction of a tree, representing Manda'yaim.
