Development Thread: If necessary
Manufacturer: Imperial Death Squadron Shipyards
Model: DC-15A Blaster Rifle

Material:
  • Titanium-lined Interior
  • Duraplast-reinforced Alusteel Frame
  • Rubberized Durasteel Stock
  • Internal Blaster Components
Classification: Blaster
Size: Handheld
Length: 1.3 meters
Weight: 5.4 kilograms
Ammunition Type: Power Cell and Gas Canister
Ammunition Capacity:

  • Power Cell - 50 shots (30 shots on high power)
  • Gas Canister - 500 shots (300 shots on high power)
Effective Range: Equivalent to a Standard Blaster Rifle
Rate of Fire: Semi-Automatic, Automatic
Special Features:
  • Maximum Range of 10 Kilometers (Mounted)
  • Low and High Power Settings
Strengths:
  • Reliable Design: Having served in one of the most chaotic conflicts in history, the Clone Wars. The design of the DC-15AB has been improved with more durable alloys, decreasing its probability of deforming or breaking.
  • Power Settings: The DC-15AB allows the user to switch between a low and high power setting, with low using less ammunition at a faster rate of fire while high having more piercing power and projectile size.
Weaknesses:
  • Rate of Fire: While technically the DC-15AB has an automatic fire function, it is highly discouraged due to the instability of plasma that causes the weapon to lose accuracy at higher rates of fire.
  • Length: Measuring at 1.3 meters, the DC-15AB is unsuited for closer ranges due to its length, with soldiers preferring carbines such as the First Order F-11D.
Description: A weapon first used during the Clone Wars around 20 BBY, the DC-15A became a distinguished rifle that served in many battles and campaigns against the Separatist scourge and their legions of battle droids. Sadly, the rifle was phased out of service after the rise of the Galactic Empire, with more modern weapons such as the E-11 Blaster Carbine and A280 Blaster Rifle being favored by the New Order and the Alliance to Restore the Republic respectively.

The DC-15A was used extensively by criminal elements till its complete disappearance from the galaxy. A new design, dubbed the DC-15AB, resurfaced in 849 ABY after Imperial Death Squadron Shipyards, a corporation specializing in starships and starship parts but also dabbling in the fields of private military forces and ground technology, remade the ancient design with modern technology.

The DC-15AB is almost exactly like its Clone Wars counterpart, it shares the ammunition capacity as well as the overall design. But there are a few key differences that have been implemented, such as the addition of stronger metals and alloys on the interior of the blaster and the rifle frame itself. Other than that the DC-15AB is just a modernized version of the DC-15A.
