Status
Not open for further replies.
Intent: To create a malleable and somewhat durable material capable of withstanding extremes of heat and energy for the use in reactors, power cells and engines.
Development Thread: (Not mandatory on creation, but helps give insight to a submission and shows effort. If not included, depending on the submission, a development thread might be asked for before final judgement)
Manufacturer: ZyTech
Model: Cryonium
Affiliation: ZyTech Industries
Modularity: None
Production: Mass Produced
Material: 3% Carnium, 15% lommite, 25% Carbon, meleenium .02%, 15% neutronium, 32% Zersium, 2% Agrinium, .01% Pyronium, 2% Desh, 2% Terenthium, 3.95% Nutorium
Description: Cryonium is a composite alloy created as an experimental metal for ZyTech Industries. Origionally intended to be used as a armor compound it was quickly discovered that the alloy is far to brittle to sustain any kind of impacts. A hard push of your finger is enough to deform the material and a hard smack of even a wrench is enough to shatter the alloy to tiny slivers. Deemed a failure Cryonium was slated for destruction and sent to the foundry for smelting back to its base elements. After three hours of extreme heat the metal remained intact.

The Cryonium was rescue and was returned for further testing and applications analysis. It was discovered that while it could not with stand direct impacts that its flexibility was high and that it could withstand heats that would melt most other metals. Cryonium began to be mass produced for use in reactor cores, engines and other areas of extreme heat and energy. Do to its Pyronium coating it could be safely gauged by a glance at its thermal break point. The material would go from red, orange, yellow and then white when it was at its maximum temperature and energy storing point at which point the energy could be safely dissipated or recycled into the power grid. This allowed for less waste potential and higher fuel efficiencies.
