Description:

Colap has long been a spacer and a mercenary. As such his armor that he had was lost and some parts damaged in battle. When the time came to forge a new set of armor Colap came up with something that was utility as well as combat oriented.

Colap's armor provides above average protection and a full seal, to prevent him from dying when in space. The trade off for his spare air, and an environmental underlay is the weight and bulkiness of the armor. It fits like a giant box around him and requires considerable strength and conditioning to wield.

In addition, the armor requires powercells to run the systems which will require more weight. during battle it would be a burden to change ones power cell out. when exploring he has to don extra powercells, in order to stay alive if he gets lost from his ship.

How it's made:

First the undersuit is made of armorweave. Underneath that a layer of Enviromental underlay was added to protect against extreme conditions in deep space and harsh hostile worlds. The two suits are put on separately.

The plates were cast of a durasteel base, with a micro layer of Quadanium steel melted over them. The first layer of protection the quadanium saves most small arms fire and glancing blows. However it is not impenetrable and will fail after several repeated hits on a particular plate. The cost and weight of the Quadanium prohibited using it en-masse to create the plates alone.

So the lower layer was made of Durasteel, which is a bit thicker, about an inch of so for each section. Transparisteel makes up the visor.

Another feature of the armor that comes in useful is the arm mounts, which allow custom load-outs to be attached before battle or exploration.
