Build an EVENT PLANET Competition

Hello Chaos! Many of you have been pining for another Staff Event and today you're going to get your first teaser of the next one on the docket. Without going into too many details, I am here to announce we [[member="Valiens Nantaris"] and I] will be running a competition to help build the main stage and planet for our next upcoming event.

The Competition:
Your task is to create a planet on the very edges of space in hex 11 horizontal, 6 vertical. This hex contains only the custom planet ‘Mnencheiasus’.

The planet will be the key location for an upcoming event. It is a largely unknown world occupied by the Sith though their presence there is mostly a secret.

This planet and the system may have any system features, moons or star layout you wish.

These are the conditions for the planet submission:

• Submission must have "Event Planet Contest" in the title of the thread.
• Must have a type 1 atmosphere suitable for humans and humanoids to function.
• Must be a relatively obscure planet; no large cities or well-known history.
• Must have a strong One Sith, now Rogue Sith, base present including air and ground defences.
• Must have an area of land at least large enough for the above and for factories.
• Must mention a Sith station and shipyards in orbit.
• Cannot have restricted materials or Force nexus.
• Must have some explanation which makes the planet hard to navigate to or locate.

The following are up to you to decide on:

• Terrain, weather and features.
• Native or immigrated species.
• History/Culture
• Image
• Name, including code-name used by the Sith if desired.
• Physical size, whether it’s a moon etc.

Each entry will be judged on the following criteria:

• Name – Catchiness, quality. (/5)
• Image – Quality and variety of images. (/5)
• Design – Quality of design including writing, layout and overall readability (/10)
• Content – Quality of history, culture and background for the planet. (/10)

Each entry will be marked by myself and Valiens for a total potential score of 60 combined. The winning submission will be used in the event and the winner will receive a level 2 event reward.

You have until Friday, September 9th to get your entries into the Codex.
Entries must be fully approved by no later than Wednesday, September 13th, 11:59pm.

All members, including Codex and Factory judges are eligible to enter the competition. Forum Staff is not. All entries must be made to normal Codex standards.

[member="Lorelei Darke"], @Valiens Nataris sorry for being the new guy who doesn't know much, but a few questions. One, what is an event reward? and What happens to the Submissons who don't win?

Staff gives major participants within Events rewards for their efforts based on certain criteria of the event and such. The rewards are often restricted or high-power tech that wouldn't typically pass through Factory.

As for the submissions that do not win - likely they will be marked as non-canon, but with room for reuse or recycling them elsewhere on the map. That's to be determined by Valiens.

Current One Sith. However the sith utilizing the planet will be rogue.

Current One Sith had Vong in it correct? Would things dealing with the Vong be considered Restricted and or a Force Nexus that could render the planet Force Dead on the Surface?

The submissions which do not win can, as [member="Lorelei Darke"] says, be reused elsewhere with some edits, or be marked non-canon.

I am not going to writing a sub, but this is a space dockyard that i subbed a while ago, technically it the design now belongs to [member="Taeli Raaf"]. Though I am sure she would not mind it being part of the story as it was never unique.
