  • Acceleration Compensator
  • Crew Compartment (8 Troopers)
Maneuverability Rating: 10
Speed Rating: 0.5
Hyperdrive Class: None
Strengths:
  • Individual Field Disruptor: Using this, it can bypass a ship's shields and deliver its troops straight to the ship.
  • Mining Laser and Hull Cutting Ring: With this equipment it is fairly easy for the boarding torpedo to tear open a ship and get its troops inside.
Weaknesses:
  • No Starfighter Weapons: That's it, its a rocket without a warhead and its a ship without a gun.
  • No Shields: It isn't equipped with shields, there just isn't enough room for one even if you wanted it. These would also interfere with the Individual Field Disruptor.
Description:
The Breacher-class Boarding torpedo is the size of an assault warhead and is launched from the same tubes and launchers as those warheads. As such, only Ships with Assault or Heavy Warhead launchers can be equipped with these torpedoes. The craft is simple in its design, little more than a tube with the bare minimum needed to keep the soldiers inside alive, and that is a Temperature Regulator and a few plates of Durasteel armor. The Torpedo doesn't have life support, or lights, or really anything. The eight soldiers are packed fairly tightly into the metal tube and shot at the enemy ship. Without shields or starfighter weapons it isn't useful for anything else. But despite this, it does allow troops to board enemy vessels without having some complicated flight path. Wicked fast the Boarding Torpedo takes the troops from point a to point b.

Once the torpedo arrives at the enemy ship its Individual Field Disruptor allows it to bypass the vast majority of enemy shielding going straight to the starships hull where the forward facing hull cutting ring, Mag clamps, drills, and Plasma-Jet Mining Laser rapidly cut through the ships hull and haul the torpedo inside the ship. Once inside, the side panels detonate, sending shrapnel into the enemy vessel to clear immediate opposition as the doors open allowing the troops inside to move through the ship. The fragmentation plates are basically the same as a fragmentation grenade with a 15 meter casualty radius, shaped to fire away from the torpedo to all sides.

The first soldier in the line has access to rudimentary controls, allowing him to angle the torpedo and guide it somewhat, but he the missile isn't made to be turned on a time, its made to be incredibly fast and get to the enemy without being targeted. Its interior has an Advanced Inertial compensator to keep the troops inside from dying on impact, and an acceleration compensator to keep them alive through the launch process.

*Note: Damage (and thus whether these hit or not) is decided by the recipient or target's controller/owner.
