Intent: A personal weapon for Braith Achlys
Development Thread: If Necessary
Manufacturer: Braith Achlys
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Braith Achlys
Modularity: None
Production: Unique
Material:
  • Alchemized Phrik
  • Phrik
  • Braith's Blood
Classification: Spear
Size: Hand-and-a-Half
Length: 195 cm
Weight: 3 KG
Special Features:
  • Lightsaber Resistance: Being constructed of a phrik, this spear is able to completely resist the strikes of lightsabers.
  • Lightning Rod: The head and base of the spear, the blade at the top end of the weapon and the spiked pommel at the butt, has been treated with alchemy and, like any normal Sith sword, will attract and absorb force lightning. Upon contact with another physical object, the force lightning trapped within the blade head or base will then be discharged in full.
  • Enchanted: Whenever the blade head or the base (the spike at the butt of the spear) come into contact with someone other than Braith it will slowly draw stamina from them - meaning it will cause them to wear down at a somewhat quicker rate than normal, increasing their sense of fatigue with each contact. This must be skin-to-blade contact. This essentially acts as a much toned-down variation of the infamous drain force ability.
  • Blood Trail: As with nearly all of Braith's prior creations, this spear carries a blood trail on it which allows the witch to locate the weapon through the force.
Strengths:
  • Lightsaber resistant.
  • Absorbs, traps, and releases force lightning in the blade head of the spear.
  • Drains away the stamina of a foe when physical contact with flesh is made.
Weaknesses:
  • The draining effect requires contact with flesh, touching it with armor, clothing, or any intermediate object will protect whoever is touching it from feeling more fatigued.
  • As the head and spiked base of the spear is treated with Sith alchemy it has increased the weight of both ends, putting the point of balance perfectly in the center of the spear. This makes it completely impractical to use the spear as a throwing weapon, as any throws will become largely inaccurate.
Description:
Created by Braith Achlys as the spiritual successor to her 'Maw of Midnight', this spear was made from far lighter - and superior - materials than the Durasteel-Trimantium mixture which formed the other. Knowing now that, in modern combat, a heavier weapon is not always a more deadly weapon, Braith went without intentionally attempting to make the spear as heavy as its older counterpart, keeping it at a nice three kilos. Similar to the Maw, this spear also has been enchanted as to slowly chip away at her enemy's stamina with each strike to the flesh, but unlike the former it does not have its presence in the force buried.

As the weapon requires direct contact with flesh to drain the stamina from its target, heavily armored foes will find themselves protected from tactics revolving around fatigue as long as their armor holds. The spear is also perfectly balanced towards the center of the shaft, which makes using it as a throwing weapon largely impractical as it is far more inaccurate than any standard throwing spear due to the way it would travel through the air. As the weapon was made from phrik it is both lightsaber resistant and a quite a bit lighter than the Maw that it was based on, and has been marked by a blood trail so that the witch may locate the spear through the force.

The blade head at the top of the spear and the spiked pommel base have both been treated with alchemy and thus will attract and absorb force lightning, as well as discharge it onto a solid object on contact.
