Bikes and more mods than needed EVER (Private)

After leaving Nar Shadaa with Crosswire and Jae with an armored and armed swoop bike I'd begun thinking about getting a a few bikes for quick hit and run type missions. So the last time I'd been on a station I'd been looking at some black market vehicles. They weren't strictly speaking illegal but they could very easily be made to be. I'd had them loaded aboard while I'd been grabbing a quick dinner and now coming back aboard in the hangar by the armory were a set of three bikes.

I'd paid a little more for the bikes due to also grabbing a set of blueprints for upgrades and now speaking into the PA I said "Hey Crosswire meet me down in the hangar we're gonna get started on some upgrades to some new vehicles we received recently."

I perk up at the call over the comms, grinning a bit. I had hoped he'd ask for this. After our last adventure on Nar Shadaa, I had some ideas floating in my head on how it could've gone a heck of a lot better. I pick up a couple tools and rush myself down there. Once I reach the hanger I spy the bikes and whistle. "You pick these up on the station? Beauties. How much coin did you have to huck at a merchant for these? Wait, don't answer that. I don't wanna know." I run a paw along the front panel of one of em. Like new on the exterior.

"I take it these are going to be for quick ops and probably used for escapes. Would be a good idea then to make sure that we remove the speed cap that the engineers tend to put on these things. Lets be honest, they're ment to go sooo much faster but due to laws, they're throttled down. I can fix that no sweat."

"So something that bothered me about our last escapade was how many bullets we had to fling. and potential damage we caused. There's gonna be a time we don't want that, especially when we need information from a target." I sit sideways on one of the bikes tail betraying my excitement. "What if their controls were disabled and they came to a halt as safely as possible?"

[member="Andorreth Vikar"]

Smiling at his line of questioning I said "I traded information on some interesting topics with the merchant and they exchanged that info for three shiny new bikes. As for the legality of that info well... let's just say illegal tends to pay better and buy more. As for speed caps I'd simply remove them and leave it to the pilot to figure out how fast to go. Brakes are going to be a necessity though."

Smiling as he mentioned weapons to disable rather than make scarp of the vehicles I looked towards him and said "Dual phase cannons, that'd allow for firing of an ion blast disabling vehicles, droids,shields and so on but the actual blaster cannon would allow for the ability to give the needed force to completely stop the vehicle and whoever was at the wheel. Also we could set up some net and line launchers for both capturing fugitives and leaving loose threads or cables attached to hard surfaces allowing for the elimination or crippling of pursuit vehicles."

Heading over to the shelves I had in the garage section of the hangar bay I grabbed a few different colors of paint along with needed tools to coat the bikes with selected paints. I also wanted to install a light kit underneath mine for purely aesthetic reasons. Grabbing a few tools I tossed a ratchet to Crosswire and said "Help my start removing the hoods, we'll need your help to boost the power to the engines and allow for the dual-phase cannons to be installed as we'll likely need to tie those functions into the actual controls of the bikes."

[member="Trelock Relon"]

Grabs a couple tools and gets to work removing the hoods, "Problem with phase cannons is the power draw, weight, and the space used. Basically renders removal of the limiter moot. You'd either have to only put them on one bike, making it harder to defend oneself or put in a power switch. I could work on something though software wise that'll give us the best of both worlds. It'll allow us to utilize standard cannons, but track the power source of the vehicle. That way we can target the power source first and cause minimal damage without weighing down our craft." Tosses Andorreth a fusion sensor, the size of my fist and pulls up the code I was working on a while back on my wrist pad.

I pull off a hood and wander over to him to show him the code. "Wouldn't take me long at all to make this easily accessible in the bikes systems. The trade off is the effective range. Just have to wire it into each bike and install the software! Another good idea would be to have some form of tracking on these things incase someone decides to try and take off with them."

I go back over to the bike into the cabling and remove the speed limiter. "Piece of corporate junk." I toss it across the room into the trash bin.

Smiling as Crosswire mentioned a few things about power draw, targeting and such then he mentioned a way to track the bikes in the event that someone were to steal them. Smiling as he mentioned that I said "Or we could prevent them being stolen at all and rig up an electric shock charge to bioscanners. Set up the controls as accessible and rig the bioscanner to deliver an electric shock if it's not us attempting to pilot the bikes."

Looking over at the stolen swoop we'd all made off with from Nar Shadaa I pointed toward it and said "Also with the swoop we made off with it can easily hold three people, but again as you were concerned about the possible collateral damage and casualty rate we could rig the quad turret you were manning to be a dual-phase cannon, once again Ion and blaster modes. with the swoop it'd be easier simply due to the large engines which we could also modify to run silently. They'd have the same power, thrust, and energy output but simply stealthed. It'd make getting into places and setting up ambushes easier to be sure..."

I grin and nod a bit gesturing to him, "I like the way you think my friend! The electroshock therapy option it is! And I like the stealth idea. If we ever need to get into a place undetected that'd be a good start, noise wise. We should have a tracking scrambler on it too just in case. Last thing we need is someone putting a beacon on us and them tracking us down. Speaking of which, have we found anything of the sort on the swoop? Or have you looked?"

As I say this I begin inspecting it deeper, looking into the internal components. "Oh and the phase cannon would definitely work better. Bigger vehicle just has more power and better power generation in general."

[member="Andorreth Vikar"]

Smiling as he mentioned tracking devices I revealed a small tracking chip and putting it in a hydraulic press and engaged the press crushing the chip. "I believe in making things unrecoverable. In any case we also might think about picking up and or stealing a small medium or light freighter that'd be able to carry the swoop and at least one of the new bikes." Taking several high powered rotary ion blasters I began stripping down the current blaster cannons onboard the bikes and stripping away wires to splice the rotary ion blasters to the cords from the stock blaster emplacements. In any case after we got the ion weapons installed on the bikes we'd be heavily modding the swoop. That'd be the really fun part.

I laugh a bit, closing and eye as some shards hit my face. "Well that was a bit overkill don't ya think?" I plug into one of the other swoops and start installing the software, meanwhile attaching the necessary sensor, digging around for wires in the back of the bike to splice it in midway to the bike "Also be aware I may personalize my bike if that's okay with you. I've a bit of an artists streak." I reach into the display panel and pop it out, replacing it with an updated one with extended number of ports, plugging the sensor into it, and the screen into the power harness.

Shrugging my shoulders I said "Overkill is better than not making absolutely certain it's toasted. I'd prefer not to have people that wanted you dead chasing us. Which reminds me...why EXACTLY did they want you dead so bad to send a private army after you?" Having finished pulling out the prior blaster cannons of the bike I had in front of me I lifted one of the high powered rotary Ion blaster and set it in place on the bike. Grabbing a grinding tool I began cutting a hole in the hood that the rotary blaster would fit through. After pulling the hood down over the blaster to make sure it'd fit I pulled the hood back up and grabbed a micro sander.

Grinding away the sharp edges from the hole I'd cut I made sure to make the edges as smooth as I could possibly get them. Cutting the power to the micro sander I grabbed a can of compressed air and blew the metallic dust from the surfaces. Then looking toward Crosswire as he mentioned personalizing his bike and having a bit of an artist's streak I once more shrugged "Your bike, you can do whatever you want with it my man." Looking at the rotary ion blaster I grabbed the wires I'd stripped from the stock blaster emplacement and began twining them together with the rotary ion blaster wires. Grabbing a soldering gun I began splicing the wires together. Making sure they were secure I gently tugged, then grabbed some soldering paste and a brush and painted the wires down. Grabbing the soldering gun again I fused the wires together and began restoring the seals over those wires. Taping them tightly sealed I closed the hood of my bike and began looking over the bike.

I still needed to find a way to attach some kind of launcher to the rear of the bike. For now though I needed some kind of bioreader sensors to place on the controls. After that it'd be the electrical charge for the security linked to the bio-sensors...

I smirk a bit listening to his explanation of the exploding of the computer chip. "You do have a point. Ah, that. The assassins." Hmn. Not sure where to start really.. And as much as I still don't trust anyone, I do need a team to work with. A lone wolf is more prone to being killed rather than being in a pack. "Well, I caught wind of a prototype being developed by E. Enterprises. It was to allow your own brains speed and processing power to interface with electronics. So that tattoo?" I tap my finger to my left temple, "It's not just for show. It's still taking some time to get used to, but It'll be worth it once I can get my focus honed in." Hopefully that'll sate his curiosity for now.

I jump on my bike after fastening the display panel down, giving it a test start to make sure it runs okay, the engine roaring to life. Yep! Seems go- My thoughts are soon cut of by the sound of an electrical pop, safety switch shutting the bike down. "Shoot. Needs some more insulation on the wiring. Don't try this at home kids." I grab a roll of electrical tape and wrap it around the exposed wiring, taking a heat gun and melting the tape slightly to get it to shrink around the wires. Leave it to me to forget something so simple. "So what else do you need help working on? I'm going to add these targeting sensors to each bike for you guys. "

[member="Andorreth Vikar"]

Taking in what he'd said about E. Enterprises and how he'd heard of a prototype and that the tattoo was more than just for looks I had the sense that we weren't done dealing with E. Enterprises. Hopefully we could identify the core of who E. Enterprises send next... Even with his implant taking time to get used to E. Enterprises wouldn't stop...

"I suppose that the swoop we stole could be worked on next. I picked up some more durable armor plating that we can either add to the bike or strip the old stuff off and replace the old stuff. Though I'd say put added plating on the underside of the swoop would be a better idea. After getting that squared I'd say work on the turret and setting it up as a dual-phase turret, able to switch between ion blasters to normal blaster mode."

Contemplating the whole E. Enterprises situation I looked back towards Crosswire and said "Look man, I don't know your whole life story and unless you share it I normally won't pry. But the thing is, E. Enterprises or as anyone on Coruscant would call it Evil Corp ain't exactly known for their tendency to stop. I'm guessing that the tech on your face is theirs and they want it back, don't know how you managed to steal their tech and I don't really care. What I do care about is how we stop them pursuing you and by extension the rest of us. So a few things cross my mind here... Option A we keep killing off the people they send for you. Option B you return the tech which I'm not for by the way. Or option C we put on a show of force and show Evil Corp that we aren't to be targeted ever again. Perhaps by leaving a program in their corporate offices on Coruscant with spyware that allows us to record, spy on, and otherwise bother them in numerous other ways."

Letting him process what I'd told him I grabbed a cart and some ratchets before going on the underside of the swoop. Odds were that the plating up top was military grade armor, and if that was the case all I'd need to do was add more plating to it and boost the engines and power systems to carry the extra weight. Grabbing one of the ratchets I began un-bolting the the plating on the underside of the swoop and waited to hear Crosswire's response to my ideas...

I nod as Andorreth walks through his ideas for the stolen swoop and quickly get to work grabbing a stack of the plating and a cutter to start fusing it onto the undersides armor. He does have a point. Continuing to fight them for the rest of my life isn't the best idea in the world. Would make my life a lot harder, and then I'd just be imposing on them. And hell would have to ice over before I'd give up my prize. After all... I quickly snap back to reality as he mentions showing E. Enterprises we're not to be messed with. "Well there's an idea... Funny you say that about 000. That's where I started and grew up, as well as where "Evil Corps" HQ is."

I continue to work on the bike, working through my way of plate after plate of armor. "So what we... well I could do is plant a worm in their HQ, and let that spread through it's network. Make it a logic bomb that'll go off after about a day or so to spread with no impact to the system. Keep it hidden. And then..." I flick my wrist turning the plasma cutter back on at full. "Boom. Production systems would destroy themselves, computers would fry and automated cargo ships would screech to a halt. They'd have to spend millions to get themselves out of that hole. But just before the system destroys itself, it plays a personalized message straight to the entire company. Think of it as a love note." I chuckle a bit and crawl out from under the swoop.

"Thing is, there's a lot of time and recon involved in a mission like that. You need to know the computer systems they have to know what vulnerabilities there are. Even with a cloaking device, I couldn't get myself into the building without having an escort. A man on the inside. Unfortunately... He's dead now." I pull out my flask and take a drink, laying over the seat of the bike. "I don't want to be a dark omen to you guys. If I'm too much of a handful just let me know."

Jeez it feels like that's been so long ago, but it's only been a year. Seems just so... foggy. Details must not have been that important. I watch Andorreth anxiously for a response.

[member="Andorreth Vikar"]

Smiling hearing what all might be involved in such a plan I said "Dark omens don't bother me Crosswire. My main handle I use when out in ops or on stations is "Vespera" Evening Star. I am a dark omen and so is the rest of the crew to any who threaten us. As for the length of time it'd take anything worth doing is worth the extra time to do right. Way I see it is we can all either take the time to get Evil Corp. off our back or cause them so much pain that they don't want to send anyone else or waste more resources on us."

Considering who I knew on Triple Zero we'd be limited in where we could stay. Not to mention who could be trusted to house us and provide weapons, armor, and gear. I had very few contacts on Coruscant but I'd find a way to make it work. We had to make it a point to help out Crosswire. Not just for him, but for all of our sakes. Also one of the jobs I had planned in the near future would require us all to make public appearances and in the case of Evil Corp. odds were that we'd run into some of their people there.
