Back in the Saddle

Was he sure he wanted to be here? Hell, no. But Coren Starchaser knew that there was a time and a place for everything. He was a part of the Outer Rim Coalition, working as a judge, and had left his command vessel for that bit there, but here? No, here he was in his YT-2000, the Tachyon Rising. It was his preferred ship, and to be honest, his first ship that actually mattered. And now he was back in space, a space he wasn’t sure he needed to be in.

Since traveling the Unknown Regions and the Outer Rim, the place between worlds, he had been putting a lot of thought into who and what he was doing. And where he was going. But the Sith were an ever present danger. And what he had been tracking were the people who had trained him, the ones who had caused him to fall into mind-wipe before the foundation of the Alliance.

What he had found was a disenchanted group of dark siders. And how he could merge their teachings with protecting the light of the galaxy. But it wasn’t easy. What he knew now though, was that they -were in the Known galaxy, and they were chasing him. Hunting his life. The ship, now equipped with the automated virtual intelligenes known as Lexi, stolen from the Shortfin came alive.

“Captain, we have entered the Galactic Alliance space again. Tracking several datastreams that are stating there are people hunting… well, you. During hyperspace, the route was adjusted to find ourselves out to this moon. We are out near Terminus.” The automated voice spoke.

Coren nodded to himself. Never a dull day. “Keep us flying, Lexi, bring us in low to where the sources seem to intersect.” He stepped back to the rear of the vessel, where the boarding ramps were, and could feel the ship enter atmosphere. He had put on his armor, because he had that feeling he would need it. The man grabbed the gunbelt, lightsaber and pistol on opposing hips, and checked the charge on his pistol.

Time to go to work.

He pressed the boarding ramp when the ship steadied, and Lexi had displayed a solid green light. He could feel the dark side, like the plague it was, in the town. What did they want? He’d give them something to deal with. A quick flinch and the booster on his back came online. Another step and the man was falling the few stories to the ground. Landing, he steadied himself and oriented himself to the town. At this point, he was screaming in the Force, sending the waves of who he was. And trying to get the attention of the dark siders. This was all done during a causal walk towards the town center.

Calling the Force to him, Coren was remembering how the galaxy worked. The Jedi connected to each other, not in the weird insect way, but in a way that definitely connected everyone around them. In the Unknown Regions and along the Rim, it was a bit different, more quiet, and people moved there to escape, they were looking to hide and did their damnedest to remain hidden. But now? No. No more hiding. He was here to show the galaxy a thing or two, again.

The man could feel the Sith, the trackers that were after him and his, in the Force. Were they after others? Had they found Kaia, or Jared? Or [member="Kinsey Starchaser"]? He was hoping not. Hell, he wasn’t even sure if his name could put @Tahiri Solo at risk? Or Chevu…

Still, it didn’t matter, these Sith were not going to be around long enough to deal with that. Calling upon the Force, Coren grinned, a dark grin. There was energy emanating from his body. It wasn’t visual, but it was spooling. He could feel it and the trackers would be feeling it too. He could feel it in the distance, soldiers, and they were working on taking down public records. The man grinned as he caught site of the guards on the door. Pistol out, he lined up two shots and took down one soldier, missing the second.

But he could feel the fear. And purpose. They were calling for backup. Good.

Just what he wanted.

Two more riflemen were exiting the building and Coren took a deep breath, and in a blink he closed the distance between himself and the Sith soldiers. A quick shot from his pistol and one was down. Coren's arms on the rifle before taking the butt of it and slamming it to the head of one of the troops. The last one? No, he wasn't going to be getting a safe treatment. Coren grabbed him in the Force, dropping the rifle and holding the last conscious soldier up in the air. Moving his had, he moved the man away from the building and turned his back to the door.

"Now, you're going to tell me where your leader is."

That was when he heard the sound of the rifle. Sighing, Coren turned as he reached out with the Force, crushing the rifle and throwing stunning electricity at the trooper who was trying to shoot him. The arcing lightning came up his body and out to his other hand, hitting the man he was holding hostage but not doing anything lethal. "Right. you were cooperating?" He questioned, causing muscle contractions in his hostage.

Coren wasn’t the type of person who felt much about those he declared were unfit for anything. He knew that not everyone could be doing what he was doing, and he knew that he shouldn’t be interacting with those beings. He was a Force user, he was someone who was pushing the agenda against the dark side. He had no place in the world he was creating. He was a smuggler, a fringer, and an explorer. Being around where the fight was, and where civilization wasn’t. He was returning, slowly, to the Galactic Alliance, because he could feel the darkness coming. It was around the galaxy, and he knew it needed to be removed, a light had to be given to blind it out.

The galaxy had come so far, but what he learned out on the fringes, was that it was a disease, he had more skills he could use to fight it, but it wasn’t enough. He had to be here, had to be around to make sure the galaxy was safe. The Sith here though, the ones dogging him? He wasn’t having any of their games. The man needed to get these people off of him, and before that could happen, he needed to enforce his agenda on them. Standing, with the Sith held in his grasp, the Starchaser grinned.

“Where is your boss?” Coren ordered, tightening his grip, and the lightning coursing through the being with more intensity. The pilot was sick of being dogged by the Sith. That was why he was going to take the fight back to them. Shaking his head, he heard the Sith deny assisting him. Shaking his head, Coren looked at the man.

“Now, I was hoing you were going to help, a cell is a lot nicer than death.” He said, pushing his will into the Force to throw the lightning into the being, quickly overloading his cells and nervous system. Dropping the body, Coren turned to the building and stepped inside. Looking around, he found a terminal and sat in front of it, the Force still flowing around him, allowing him to sense what was going on around him. Accessing the data, he could see that some of it was being oved. They were after him and those he found in the Unknown Regions. Stepping outside, Coren looked around before activating his commlink.

“Hello Commander. Status report?” asked the ship’s captain, a Vaemath male named Fallixa.

“Sith were here. They took some data, can tell its been ripped. Can you deploy the Nightstalkers? I will meet you at Sullust.” The man spoke as he continued back to his ship.

“Roger that, commander. Monitoring subspace frequencies, we have a lead on a vessel that may have received the transmission. Nightstalker Exalt team will be deployed. See you at Sullust.”

Coren nodded to himself. The man had registered his ship to the Galactic Alliance database weeks ago, and was going to be bringing the corvette in close to the main station. From there, hopefully he could get himself a cruiser to use to deal with this threat. He did have a ship he could call home in the Outer Rim Coalition, but he wasn’t about to use a vessel designed for humanitarian efforts in his war.

Stepping into the Tachyon Rising, the pilot started linking with the system of the ship and started taking off. Destination: Sullust.

The man had been around the galaxy a few times. He had been doing several jobs, from an explorer, to a salvager, to leading expeditions into the unknown. That was all following his past as an Imperial fighter pilot and marksman. None of that really compared to what he had been doing before he got back to his roots. Before taking the chance to get himself some distance from the galaxy and find what mysteries and secrets of the Rim. He had learned a lot, but it was all a result of where he had been.

And as he looked out against the lava world of Sullust, he remembered. He was always hunting the Sith, fighting the dark side, and at times, using their own methods against them. Hell, even recently, he was holding Sith troopers and doing what he could to extract the information out of them, within reason of course. Coren shook his head as his YT-2000 had entered the airspace around the main station of Sullust.

“Tachyon Rising, we have you on our screen. Transmit docking codes.” Came station control.

“Roger that, Station Control.” Coren nodded to himself as he tapped a few keys and transmitted back the codes. The Station Control was reading the codes and soon the light for one of the docking pads turned green.

“Welcome back, Commander Starchaser, Captain Valindis has already arrived.”

Right, Commander Starchaser. That is what he was at one point. Shaking his head, he allowed Lexi to pull the ship into the docking location. Coren stepped back, stripped down from his armor, and wearing a military cut jacket over a tee-shirt and denim jeans. Greeted by a quartet of soldiers, Coren nodded. His Vaemath captain nodded. The explorer nodded in return.

“Time to get to work.” Valindis spoke as the soldiers escorted the pair in towards the Supreme Commander.
