SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Firepower - With hardpoints capable of mounting additional weapons, the gauntlets put more firepower in Sisserith's hands, affording her enhanced lethality, especially in close-quarters.
  • No Lock - The miniaturized DERP makes Sisserith virtually invisible to enemy sensors, targeting computers, and missiles. Not only is it a powerful stealth tool, but it also is a reliable defense against missiles or ordnance that might attempt to lock onto her.
  • Get Back! - Being a rather diminutive combatant, Sisserith incorporated a repulsor weapon to repel enemies who might attempt to close in order to engage her in melee. It is a semi-reliable defense against charging lightsaber-wielders or larger opponents seeking to leverage their superior strength against her.
  • Weight - The mass-nulling chips significantly reduce the weight of the gauntlets, making it easier for Sisserith to bring any weapons on them to bear. In addition, the chips can be set to deactivate when firing weapons that have physical recoil, a setting which is most often used for slugthrowers and other kinetic-based weapons.
WEAKNESSES
  • Mechu-deru - Often an unspoken weakness of any advanced technology, the gauntlets and their supporting systems are vulnerable to the dark sorceries of Mechu-deru and other technology-corrupting powers. As such, a skilled practitioner of such arts can quickly disable the gauntlets' systems to render the weapons unable to be fired entirely or worse, catastrophically explosive.
  • Surge - The defense of the gauntlets against Ion/EMP-based assaults is ultimately based on the overall defenses of the armor. If it has meager or low-quality defenses, Ion/EMP-based assaults may easily overload the gauntlets, disabling them for some time, depending on the proximity and power quotient of the discharge.
  • Reload - Unfortunately, having more weapons also means having more reloads and after the fight, more maintenance. While mounted weapons can be reloaded individually, running out of ammunition in all of them at once could put Sisserith in dangerous straits, especially during a heated, close-quarters engagement.
  • Critical Component - The neural interface is a critical component, as it allows Sisserith to operate the gauntlets’ functions via a neural interface. In the event that it is disabled, the gauntlets will essentially be dead weight since she will be unable to fire or activate any of the equipped weapons. In order to save on weight, she did not include any triggers or manual interfaces.
DESCRIPTION
Crafted by Sisserith, these gauntlets represent a labor of devotion, love, and perhaps necessity. After facing a massive, cannibalistic Ologuren warrior who attempted to eat her during a battle, Sisserith realized that she needed something to aid her in fighting the massive, supercharged monsters that she finds herself in constant, inter-tribal competition against. To that end, she constructed a new pair of gauntlets. Taking the base from stock scavenged from her warband's former master, Sisserith ripped out the internals and resized them to fit her frame. From there, she began integrating various gadgets and utility technologies into the gauntlets. These technologies include a miniaturized DERP, a liquid-cable launcher, a communications device, and yet more. However, the most prominent feature in the gauntlets are the modular hardpoints, of which there is one on each, for a total of two. Each is capable of mounting one pistol, wrist, or SMG-sized weapon, putting more potential firepower in Sisserith's hands. In addition, she can also use these hardpoints to mount utility devices, in the place of a weapon. Finally, Sisserith also included two gauntlet vibroblades for melee combat.


All in all, Sisserith hopes that the gauntlets will serve her well.
