SPECIAL FEATURES
 • Sensor Equipment: The Avatar-class Cruiser mounts a comprehensive active and passive sensor suite, appropriate to an elite Star Destroyer. A Crystal Gravfield Trap allows the Avatar to detect any stealth vessel which does not have a gravitic modulator, at a distance equivalent to the effective range of a long-range turbolaser. The Avatar’s sensors have a variety of scientific modes and customization options. Given enough time, the Avatar can deploy a towed array for improved resolution and range.
 • Hyperspace Navigation Equipment: The Avatar has advanced interstellar navigation capabilities, including a Silkworm Hypertransit Package and an Olie AGS navicomputer.
 • Low-Volatility Chaff/Flares: Several advanced chaff/flare dispensers offer moderate protection against warheads without risk of sympathetic detonation.
 • Reconnaissance Probes: The Avatar can deploy a wide variety of small survey craft and probe droids, including the SIARC, SUREC, INCIS, TRUL, and EXPARC probes. With enough preparation time, the Avatar can monitor a large region comprehensively, and delay enemy movements in certain circumstances..
 • Resilience Systems: The Avatar contains and compartmentalizes damage efficiently, and can repair its own systems within the context of an extended engagement.
 • Science Labs: Whether diagnosing plagues, refining RADOS fields, or performing comparative exogeology, the Avatar’s science labs offer a wide variety of mission-specific options. The modular labs derive from the much smaller Shambhala-class Science Vessel.
 • Supply Technologies: The Avatar carries five years of emergency consumables. Cold storage and analysis units allow the ship to take on supplies from random worlds. Solid fuel/ration converters turn waste biomatter into nutrient paste, cloth, or basic fuel cells in extreme circumstances. Bottom line, the Avatar can keep going...and going...and going.
Strengths:
 • Straight On 'Til Morning: The Avatar’s advanced navigational and supply systems allow prolonged and time-efficient exploration of uncharted space.
 • Like A Rock: The Avatar’s shields and armour are nothing amazing, but its internal damage control and self-repair systems are second to none. Its countermeasures are safe and stable, and it resists system strain effectively. It’s a reliable and durable ship.
 • Good Eyes: Variegated sensors, including a Crystal Gravfield Trap, give the Avatar a good idea of what surrounds it. In a combat context, the Avatar’s CGT can detect any stealth vessel that lacks a gravitic modulator.
Weaknesses:
 • Of All Trades: The Avatar is specced for exploration, diplomacy, humanitarian relief, and any number of other roles apart from combat. The Avatar’s design takes a balanced, multimission approach, and trades capital guns for defensive weapons to allow unescorted operation. In a face-to-face slugging match, it can’t balance most elite Star Destroyers for firepower or shield strength.
 • Alone in the Void: The Avatar carries no starfighter complement, only a handful of multirole shuttles.
 • Barrel Consolidation: Take out one of the eight composite beam banks, and that’s quite a bit of the ship’s firepower incapacitated.
DESCRIPTION

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, -- and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of -- Wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air...
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark or even eagle flew --
And, while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

[member="Jorus Merrill"] - Before I stamp this with my handy-dandy green approval tag, there are a few things I’d like to have cleared up. Firstly, you’ve listed Impervium as the Outer Hull Plating. As I’m sure you’re aware, that’s a restricted material, and I will require a Restricted Mission thread from you for this material to be kept in the submission.

With the Impervium in the air at the time of this post, the Defence rating will have to be dropped to Moderate - if you want to continue without the Restricted Mission and Material.

While you have the CGT system already listed in your strengths section, could you do me a favour and add a hyperlink to the Crystal Gravfield Trap article, where you’ve first mentioned the system in your special features?

That’s all I have for you at the moment; please feel free to make any comments, questions or concerns and @mention me when you’ve completed the myriad edits.

I was looking at an old RM list, apparently, or else one of the many copies of the list is out of date. Impervium removed. CGT linked.

As for the stats, they're a minor shuffle of the standard Elite Destroyer template, and actually toned down somewhat to accommodate the CGT and fast hyperdrive and so forth.
