Art Of Battle (Training)

Jerihco was traveling in the deep forests of Naboo, alongside his padawan [member="Emily Kao"], his voyage was soothing. The weather was more than delightful. The sky was a clear, crystal blue, and the clouds were few. The clouds danced along the sky gracefully. Unfortunately, Jericho had no sense of direction in where they were going, this time around they were just moving with the wind rather than chase some sort of objective. He wandered around aimlessly, till he came across padded ground, from what it looks like caravans used this trail, that was parallel to a river. He shrugged nonchalantly, as his gaze fell upon the river and a near by tree. Jericho rolled his shoulders and cracked his neck. Suddenly, he lifted his backpack onto his left shoulder, and wrapped his arm lazily around his belt holding his sabers. He walked down the road a ways. Then he abruptly stopped and made his way toward tree.

Jericho laid his things, against the tree and sat down next to the weapon with his back against the tree. He brought his hands behind his head, pushing his hood out of the way, and rested his head on his hands. Lonely, and bitter thoughts darted back and forth through his thoughts. As, he stared into the river. The river was calm, its surface transparent. His thoughts faded, as he focused the on the river. He noticed something moving through the river. Jericho staggered to his feet and walked toward the bank of the river. "Fish?" He stated calmly, and watched the fish swim idly by.

It was then his stomach grumbled and then growled, rather loudly in fact. An unpleasant look appeared on Jericho's face, though hidden from his mask, as it dawned on him, he hasn't ate anything for quite some time. His eye glimmered with a new found hope! He quickly removed his upper attire and tossed it at the tree. Revealing is rather large frame, toned body and multiple battle scars, he slowly crept into the river; trying not to scare off too many fish, or misplace his footing.

He felt something brush against his left foot, as he took a random step. He instinctively thrust his hands downward. The fish swayed from his hands and shuttled off. Jericho pushed off the ground with his feet and leapt forward. Hoping he would pounce on the fish. But, his ploy left him soaked and empty-handed. He continued the same 'skillful' tact for an hour. Plunging in the river again and again, hoping he would catch a fish. But, to no avail. The bitter taste of defeat lingered on his lips. Jericho swiped forcefully at the river with his right hand, to vent out his frustration. As, his hand swept the water he felt something get brushed by his swipe. A thud echoed from the bank, near the tree.

He tilted his head to the side to see a large fish flopping about. Jericho's frustration vanished, and was replaced with joy. He shamelessly strutted out of the water, and mockingly pranced toward the fish. He let out a loud blusterous laugh, as he stood over the fish. Once he calmed down, he picked it up. The fish wiggled and squirmed free, tail whipping Jericho in the process. Dazed, Jericho couldn't believe it, how could something so large have so much energy. The two hopped about for a minute or two, until Jericho finally caught the fish. He gripped it firmly with two hands, punching the large fish in the face so that it would stop.

"Thank you for a hard earned victory....You will fit well for a meal."

Jericho let go of the fish with his left hand and quickly slapped the fish against the tree. Once the fish stopped moving he laid it down and made a fire. He swiftly gather a bunch of branches and twigs. Then received a message from the sanctum, "A new member has been sent to your location for training, he will be there shortly. His name is [member="Nagate Hei"] a young force user. End message." Another force user? Jericho quickly checked the database and the information on the young man. "Interesting....Emily, looks like you will have a sparring partner shortly."

For some reason, Emily found her master unnaturally pleasant today. Jericho was open and almost carefree as they made their way through the Naboo wilderness. She didn't say a word to him, as she knew he didn't really like talking. When they stopped by the river he spotted fish and began madly wrestling for them in the water. She had to cover her mouth and hold her breath to keep from laughing at him. His splashing managed to get her wet also, but he was the one who was soaked clean through. She applauded when he finally won a nice and big one. Emily took the fish and began to cook it over the fire that Jericho had prepared while he took a message from the temple. Her eyebrows raised from the news. "Another student? Do you know him?" She asked.

Jericho took off his mask to wipe off the remaining drops of water on his face, then shook his head. "Personally, no. Even the data base has little of his past other than he was found in republic territory after the One sith attack. His name is [member="Nagate Hei"]." Jericho stated calmly. It seemed the young force user was the one who found the sanctum after the attack on Coursant and he was the nearest available Knight around to take the young man in. "Seems he's verse in hand to hand and close to your age." Jericho didn't know whether or not this young man was going to stay along side long term like Emily, regardless he was going to have to go through intense training like his senior disciple. "It seems you'll get to test skills, [member="Emily Kao"]." He said to her, confident in her growth these last few months.

Emily nodded. "I just hope that he's as good as you say. I don't want to hurt him too badly the first time we spar." She knew that Jericho wouldn't want her to go easy on him, and she didn't plan to. But if this boy wasn't as skilled as she was, there was a good chance she'd do serious damage. Just thinking about that made her feel uneasy.

The planet Naboo, a green planet full of forests, plains and vastly deep oceans. Nagate had jumped aboard a transport to join up with his master. He wanted to learn more about whatever it was he could do. This was his best option, and he wasn't going to squander the opportunity.

He 'rented' a landspeeder and headed for the location he was given on a holodisk. Out towards the forests in the East. Nagate speed across the plains, various livestock and wildlife zoomed past his view as he sped towards his destination...

@Jericho @Emily Kao

He placed a hand on top of Emily's head showing her a type of a affection that his master showed him. "You've have become very strong but you're heart remains the same." He said almost warmly to then gave her a flick on the head. "Don't get too cocky Emily, remember what I taught you. Never, for any reason, underestimate a foe, no matter how big or small." He lectured as he turned away to cooked the giant fish. Feeling a force signature nearing their location, he knew who it was and looked to back to Emily with a nod of his head, non-verbally telling her to get ready. He sent out his force signature for the newcomer to feel where he is.

Emily rubbed her head a little where Jericho had flicked it. "Yes, Master." With a nod of his head, Emily stood up straighter. She stayed tense and alert, ready to pull out her new saber at any given moment. Now all she needed to do was wait.

Nagate felt a strange sensation in his gut, like he knew he was supposed to go somewhere inside the forest. He turned left towards the treeline, stopped the speeder and hopped out.

With his mask on, jacket cloaking his blade, he set off into the trees. He followed his gut to a small clearing. He could see a trail heading further into the forest.

For some reason, he tensed up, like he wasn't alone. His eyes scanned the area for signs of movement.

Feeling that the newcomer was here. The renown hunter raised his hand elegantly then force pulled the newcomer to him with great speed, the mans jacket gripped tightly by Jericho. "[member="Nagate Hei"]..." He stated calmly in his normal low stern voice. Reaching down and grabbing the young man's saber. "I presume." He threw the young man a few feet showing a part of his strength. He looked to Emily and signaled her to be ready for a hand to hand fight. "Let's see what you can do. [member="Emily Kao"], Go."

Nagate felt himself get pulled into the trees, until he saw a man and girl. The man grabbed Nagate's knife and tossed him towards the girl. He announced a fight. Nagate looked to the girl from behind his mask, unmoving, no stance was taken.

He was in a fight, in a forest, without his knife and against a girl about the same age as Nagate. What else was new.

[member="Jericho"] [member="Emily Kao"]

To make things a bit more even, Emily threw down her saber along with the boy's knife. She raised her fists and arms in a blocking stance and slowly began moving around him. First, she feigned a punch to his left while actually punching to his right. Then, she made several strong sweeps at his legs with her own.

Nagate watched the girl fake left, then go right, so Nagate went left. The punch whizzed by, hitting the air. As the girl swept low with her feet, Nagate backflipped a few times to avoid the attacks. He took an offensive stance, and pulled out a reel of liquid cable and extended a strand like a garrote.

He was going to defend by trapping and redirecting his opponents attacks. He eyes moved briefly to the man who'd grabbed him with some mystical ability then back to the girl, from behind the mask, he made no expression, and breathed calmly, steadily.

Jericho merely stood tall and watched as the two went at it. Emily's form was much better than it use to be and she is showing more prowess as a hand to hand combatant, but she needed more work, more.....Refinement in her stances and how she used her environment. But the fight was still young, he had to see what she has processed so far from what he had taught her. He watched the new padawan closely, his every step, his every move. The young man kept to his defensive and made no move against her, maybe he was trying to observe? If not, he wasted an opportunity as Emily was not someone to underestimate.

[member="Emily Kao"] [member="Nagate Hei"] (continue on and I'll stop it after a while)

Emily watched Nagate warily as he made no move to attack her. She looked at the liquid cable he now held. She'd have to think of a way to get around it. She'd seen what cable like that could do. It could cut throats and major arteries with ease. She instinctively brought her fists to her chin, bringing her arms close to her neck and making them touch to act as a barrier for her neck. She didn't advance immediately, though. It would be foolish to attack when a weapon like that came into play.
[member="Nagate Hei"]

Nagate took a step to the left, then sprinted to the right. He leapt off a rock, flung the liquid rope and hook onto a branch and swung around the clearing, planting off trees to propel himself faster, looking for an opening.

His gut told him that he could strike...Now, he waited until he got her to turn with him. Nagate would change course and jump out towards the girl. Bringing his feet first, he aimed center mass.

[member="Emily Kao"]

Emily followed Nagate's movement. When he came in for a landing in her gut, she readied herself by hardening her muscles before he made contact. It still hurt, but she could manage it. As she slammed down into the ground, she brought her feet up as high as she could and slammed the toes of her combat boots into the base of his back. It wasn't much, but it may just buy her enough time to plan a better move.
[member="Nagate Hei"]

Nagate felt the girls chest impact his feet, then roll under him. She pushed his away from behind, where Nagate now was given space to move around. He planted a foot on a tree, detached the liquid cable, and sprinted towards the girl. As he neared, he jumped, spun counter clockwise, and brought his right foot around to meet the girls chest.

[member="Emily Kao"]

Emily let out a loud grunt as she was once again knocked off her feet. This time she was sent backward into the base of a tree. Before anything else could be done, she sent a Force push in Nagate's direction.
[member="Nagate Hei"]

The kick landed, he had intended to flow up his attack when the girl projected a force of energy from her hand, sending Nagate rolling in the dirt. Finally rolling to a stop, Nagate rolled to his feet and brushed the dust off his jacket. He wasn't sure he could continue to fight an opponent with this ability.

He pressed his palms together, bowed and stood in a relaxed position. He said nothing, but his stance gave off the 'I'm not fighting' look.

[member="Emily Kao"][member="Jericho"]

It seemed that the young man was more than a much for Emily in hand to hand combat. Still, it seemed that she was learning more about hand to hand combat. This was good, he had a better understanding what the masked one could do and what Emily was limited on and needed to focus on next. He walked over to her and helped his padawan up. "You were sloppy young one, he left many openings in his defense you could of used against him. I understand you were holding back but never do so again, [member="Emily Kao"]." He stated calmly but with his usual stern tone. Looking to the other padawan, he had extra equipment and utilized in fairly well and his skill in hand in hand was fairly moderate. "It seems you bested her today, [member="Nagate Hei"], not to bad." He said taking a seat next to the fire and giant fish, taking the some parts that were cooked and then taking his mask off to take a bite. "I am Jericho and you will be training with me now. Which style would you prefer, Echani or Teras Kasi?" He asked to the both of them despite his eyes staring at teh fire as he ate.
