Manufacturer: ArmaTech Combat Systems
Model: Mk1
Affiliation: ArmaTech Combat Systems
Modularity: Can be fitted to Vehicles and can be fashioned into Body Armor
Production: Mass
Material: Syndite, Tungsten Carbide, Carbon Carbide, and Neutronium Composite Tiles

Classification: Vehicle Armor (All-Purpose)/ Body Armor (Anti-Slug)
Weight: Variable (Dependent on Vehicle)

Special Features:
  • Extremely effective against Kinetic Rounds and features a high degree of protection against Energy Weapons
  • Minor Lightsaber Resistance: Can slow Lightsaber strikes (Think the difficulty of chopping firewood with an axe)
Weaknesses:
  • Difficult to Replace: Tiles can be replaced in a variety of ways, from repairing the entire plate in a factory, to effectively gluing a replacement on, but all in all, they are difficult and time consuming to replace
  • Strike Tolerance: Most tiles can only suffer one or two hits from a kinetic penetrator round, less from significantly larger and hypersonic weapons, and energy weapons are known to damage numerous tiles
Description:
The Ceramic-Composite armor designed by ArmaTech is the pinnacle of non-metallic armoring for vehicles, and has uses in forming protective body armor. Using a very brittle, rigid, and strong combination of metals, carbides, and synthetic materials do absorb and disperse energy across the surface of the tile and withstand kinetic penetration. Because the tiles are brittle, rather than be punctured they fracture, resulting in the force of Kinetic round being altered from straight into the vehicle to random directions, often resulting in the rod snapping and breaking rather than going through the tile. Energy is dispersed by the Neutronium lace in the composite, which has been used alongside the synthetic diamond material, syndite to disperse electricity, heat, plasma, and other forms of energy across the entirety of the tile, reducing the likelihood of it being destroyed, while damaging and reducing the strike tolerance of the entire tile struck. Tungsten carbide provides additional strength and resilience to the tile, though syndite is already known to be about as resilient and strong. Carbon Carbide is used to absorb heat and prevent it from effecting the vehicle or person behind the tile, capable of surviving atmospheric re-entry, the substance prevents any armor inserts of the vehicle from being severely damaged until the tile is destroyed or penetrated properly.
