Al-Khali (pm for invite)

Location: Odacer-Faustin - [SIZE=10pt]Gehimsaivoll Abwehrmacht Mountain Range[/SIZE]

She had been smuggled in near her older lab... well the border but the padawans she had taken were serving their purpose. The Kree and Roanoke ships had made their way to Odacer-Faustin to wait for her in the frozen wasteland and attracted some attention as she started to sabotage one of the quarantine beacons. She wanted her location known or at least part of it leaving the academy in the mountains as the closest thing they hooked a tram onto.

"The little padawan took an axe."

Her words were coming out as she stood there with some of the medical corps she had. Amoral and twisted doctors who knew how best to keep her test subjects alive that were in the hold of the ship. She wanted to experiment with the sickness on this world and after they had arrived and set everything up making sure the ship was sealed with the snow coming over it.... She had gone to work. Grabbing and reigniting the fires of the academy.

"He gave his classmates 40 wacks."

She laughed, the small girl they had for experimentation were broken, retreating into their minds to try and escape the horrors committed upon them. It wasn't something most would do but the doctor had gotten very very good at her work. Even more so with some of the dangerous parts, she wanted them to see the gift she had left for them and what better way to see the sickness then on truly living being. If the jedi could handle them

"When he saw what he had done."

Seras grinned down from under her mask as it came out mechanical, the doctor with her looked as one of her experiments. A transparent layer of synth skin over his face after she had taught him on her table. She looked at her assistant and kept walking. Her reports coming while the padawan in question was on her table... screaming with the twins chanting his actions back to him. She wasn't one to pour salt in the wounds of their failure but she was one to smile.

"He gave his remaining friends 41."

She stood there and let the energy dance over her hand as slowly a scalpel came out. Gleaming in the light from above before she spoke. "Don't worry little one, we have been having such fun with your friends and when the others arrive you'll be ready... perhaps. Or maybe you'll be just another one for the table. I haven't decided yet but you do get to have some fun and watch some home movies with me. Don't you want to see how strong one of your fellow jedi was?"

She was laughing as the scalpel came down and the screen activated showing the recordings of what happened to Tallia Farn a jedi captured on coruscant when it fell. The sith doctor had gotten to play with the Hapen and show her the power of the darkside and what human (as far as most know) nature really is. She wanted to see the young hapen be just as twisted and she had broken in the end.

"They all break in the end."

Taeli was uncomfortable as she arrived in the Odacer-Faustin system, her Sicarius-class Infiltrator in stealth mode. The system below was host to probably one of the creepiest and nastiest things ever created by a Sith, a zombie-like plague that had originated from the murakami orchid and a Sith Lord's desire to gain immortality. The entire system had remained under quarantine for thousands of years, mainly because anyone foolish enough to reach the system had never returned.

Taeli suspected that the virus had survived somewhere on the surface, within the academy most likely, but she wasn't sure. She was supposed to be on vacation, enjoying her time on the Outer Rim, but something had caught her interest here. A disturbance in the Force and one of the quarantine beacons had gone down, either through some system failure or sabotage. Keeping her Force presence to a pinprick, she brought up a scan of the planet below and dismay hit her. Kree and Roanoke ships were currently on the surface, which meant the problem became clear. The Sith Medical Corps was here as they were the only part of the Sith that used those ships.

"They must be trying to find the virus, but why?" she mumbled to herself. The implications were too terrible to imagine, especially if the Sith were successful in gaining any samples of the virus. Such a weapon would be devastating for the enemies of the Sith, and even the Sith themselves. Every story about the Sickness spoke of how nothing could fully control it, unless one succumbed to the disease and went through with an ancient ritual or so the stories said.

"Sorry for the small detour from heading to our vacation," she said to the ship's other occupant. "I have to investigate this."

She wondered what exactly [member="Connor Harrison"]'s reaction would be to this. She had promised him a relaxing time, and here they were staring at something that needed to be stopped.

Sitting and staring out of the cockpit, the events that had recently passed still swirling in his head, Connor toyed with his fingers as he knew this detour would be one of the most important he’d ever taken.

”I understand – I will…I am sure, I mean I promise to help, I’ve got to. In more ways than one.”

His cryptic reply signified everything in the last few days that had come to bear on the Silver Jedi – his allegiance to the Order and the Light, his battle with the demons in his head swaying his vision, and his time with Taeli to cut strings of the past.

If he couldn’t prove himself to others now and be the person he knew he could be, then he truly would be a lost cause.

Her eyes remained on the screen while delicately holding a hand over the boy.... His heart was racing and she looked down starring at it for a moment while the bubble they were in kept infection and foreign bodies out. The plastic covering for her eyes more then enough as news of.... Something at the academy came. She had heard the howls out in the distance but always so far away from their mountain range. She hadn't wasted the resources to brave the ruined academy which would and could prove the most effective... however she also wouldn't be able to control the situation there. That was the real kicker.

"Lets send out some of the prisoners, bring me a comlink and make sure they are hooker up to monitors." There was a nod from her doctors as they were going to work with the soldiers they had helping them. The prisoners who were strong and would be able to work getting fixed with a tracker and monitor to rely the information to her computers. She needed to see the virus with initial exposure and infection... A hard thing to do with a sickness that enjoyed tearing bodies apart before you could recover it but... She was hoping the weather and ice would slow that down enough.

"This is your doctor speaking, all of you were judged to be to weak for helping your society or have been abandoned by your people to be used by me. There is no shame in this, your deaths are advancing your species to walk in the footfalls of the gods and celestials. What sacrifices you make for science will be remembered where in your previous lives you would have just been a note in someone elses tale or forgotten entirely. Today I am sending a team of you into the academy to search, look for any viable research or information you can find. Do this and I'll let you return home or perhaps give you comforts in the camp."

There was a look from the doctor near her as she raised an eyebrow under the plastic covering her eyes and forehead. "A carrot sometimes helps and besides doctor.... we need information they can only give us when they are dead and dying." There was a smirk on her face under the mask and she doubted smiles from the prisoners who stood in the airlock. Then they were heading outside with a pistol loaded with stun shots and containers to secure anything they could find. The central part of the academy where the ruined tower had been would be the best place to start but she would let them search.

They might come back with something she could use while stepping away from the padawan and he started to wake up. The shock his body had gone into to keep him alive fading while he started screaming again looking at his chest at her work. Seras left him there in the bubble with the machines to keep and preserve him while she was walking towards the observation deck to look over the prisoners. Some of them were working on on their tasks of keep her men busy. She crossed her arms and gave a mechanical hiss while her senses in the force nagged at her something or someone was coming but she wasn't skilled in that.

"Do you know the stories of this system?" Taeli asked, slowly moving the ship into the atmosphere and slipping into lecture mode. "During the days of Vitiate's Sith Empire, this planet played host to a Sith academy run by a Sith known as Darth Scabrous. Hundreds of students were learning here, but Scabrous was on a secret mission to discover immortality. He discovered an ancient holocron, deep within the catacombs that run under the academy, that detailed the creation of a virus and a specific set of rituals that could lead to eternal life. The virus that was created needed a rare Murakami orchid to actually work, otherwise nothing happened."

The ship broke through the atmosphere, revealing a snowy and tundra-like area, the academy spire off in the distance. Taeli could sense the depravity that this particular section of the Sith were known for. They would be sending people into the academy most likely.

"The virus creates a highly dangerous and highly aggressive zombie-like creature that is driven by this gray goo that contains the virus, almost like a hive mind," she continued. "One bite can lead to death and resurrection within just a few minutes, and that virus was released on that student body. Only two people were able to escape and survive that outbreak, and the secret to that virus was lost for thousands of years. Now, it would appear the One Sith are trying to rediscover and gain this virus for their own use."

Looking over at Connor, she sighed a little.

"I'm sorry, by the way, I know we are meant to go somewhere relaxing first, but this needs to be dealt with quickly," she said. "The Sith present here are known as the Sith Medical Corps, a sadistic band of doctors and scientists that know no moral boundaries when it comes to their experiments. They're led by an even more sadistic Sith Knight known as Seras Goto. I've only met her once, but there are stories that she leads secret camps devoted solely to brutal experimentation and torture."

Landing the ship a short distance from the old academy, she suspected they had brought prisoners to use as the carrion to observe the plague here.

"Word of advice, don't get bitten or get any of their bodily fluids anywhere near a wound, open orifice, or mucus membrane," she said, picking up her lightsabers. "Lightsabers can kill these creatures, but you need to aim for the heads. Lightning and flames will work just as well, so Electric Judgment or Force Lightning will work. I will understand, given that new information, if you don't want to come along."

She opened up a small locker that had a combination lock and started to pull out armor plates that she would be affixing to her outfit, pulling out a mask as well.

The ambiguous statement was far from a freighter that you called in for a stealth mission, there were more things falling off this ship than there was ship, but she had a lot going for her, well no she didn’t have anything but to Kei Amadis she was his home away from home, and perfect. Battering against atmosphere she bumped a few times, and then started to enter, at least there was a pilot at the controls this time, to take her in more gently than his ham fisted attempts. Just a small wildcard squad of twelve with him, he was hoping to get in and get out without much of a fuss.

“You sure about this Rixx?” Amadis looked to the lieutenant, all the wildcards were veterans by this point in their career, they’d started out crack troops ex republic, ex AoL, and that high level of demanding training had never stopped with the silvers.

“Field reports say it’s accurate.” Rixx replied. It was odd for Kei to be in the commanders seat again, he’d got used to being out of it, and now here he was there again, necessity calling.

“You’ve both been watching too many holovids again LT”, one of the sergeants behind him laughed, and a few of them agreed.

Rigging up their particle weaponry, organic tensor rifles and grenades, the team was kitted out like you wouldn’t believe, with a wide arsenal of grenades and traps. Importantly the squad had not spared the flamers. Kei was sporting a particularly nasty looking particle rifle himself alongside his saber. He didn’t know if the tensor rifles were going to work or not against whatever intel said this virus was, and he hoped to not have to find out! The flamers and explosively charged particle weapons would come in handy for sure however, the sonic weapons he wasn't so sure about, so they'd slung them.

“Connor, Master our team is in position to land now, any instructions?” Kei said over the communicator to the other ship, sparing the formal introduction, straight to business.

Allies:
12 x Wildcard Special Forces, Close Combat Specialists.

Assuming he was contacted by connor can edit if its too much of a bunny. Otherwise I have no idea how he’d know to be here, Quantum tunneling aside :) looking forward to the thread!

Seras continued to monitor as they were being sent out. The bridge of the ship displaying the video from their headsets as the prisoners were sent into the academy from a tunnel linked to the pens where bantha had been kept. The frozen remains of one with its stomach hollowed out and claw marks as their vital signs. The level of their heartbeats as they were fearing what they saw. She couldn't blame them something like this... was special and not for everyone. She could pick up the pitch of a howl and scream on the wind as it was going to signal them. "Keep going, there is a lot of ground to cover and I want you all to prove yourselves."

The smirk on her face under the mask was there but so was the small tightening pain from her mask. She let the nagging at the back of her mind come but she didn't put much into it. She suspected if the jedi showed up they would be going for the ships and either working to stay away from the academy. That was why she was there near one of the outer entrances while using what maps they had. Some sonic mapping tech would come in handy since there had been a fire and destruction. "Now keep going." They kept moving, the hallways silent except for the clatter of their feet on the stone.

Seras noticed there was a storm coming towards them that would play with their long range sensors. Soldiers were at the airlocks and securing the lab ships for them to see while she tapped a computer. "Keep looking for any signs of jedi vessels, I don't know if they have stealth ships but scan for interference in the snow. Even a cloaked ship wouldn't be able to bypass snow clinging to the outside of the ship as they came down. She was listening for more pressing things as her hands came to a report the rest of her men were giving. She could read it for a moment while heading down the hallway.

He span in the co-pilot chair to watch Taeli; the first time he'd seen her acting on the Light side of the Force, eager to serve and help others. Watching her take her armour, he made a note of what she advised and rested his jaw in the cup of his hand. A small smile formed on his lips, he was dying to talk to her about what happened not long before, but hopefully that chance would come. She certainly held herself well as a warrior, much like her sister. The smile faded at the thought of Corvus. What did this mean for her?

Reaching into his belt, he pulled the comlink as [member="Kei Amadis"] came through finally. A welcome distraction from Taeli.

"Kei, good to hear from you. Land where you can and keep your signal active so we can find you. I've got Taeli Raaf with me, and she has knowledge of the suspected hostiles - don't get bitten, don't get their fluid near any open wounds and aim for the head. That's about it. We'll be there soon. Be careful."

He signed off and stood up and walked to the cockpit arch, leaning on it as Taeli suited up, something he would do in a moment, his battle armour still in pieces in the refresher.

"Ok, my man is en route and he won't be alone, I can guarantee it. Are you ok?"

A personal question and one of the looming danger.

"I'll be fine," she said, standing up with a pile of armor in her arms. Smiling softly, she added, "I've faced zombies before on Korriban, those were zombie terentateks, and when an idiot acolyte tried to use them on Sposia. I'm more concerned for you because that place is going to be crawling with dark side energy and you've probably never faced a Sith zombie before."

Coming up to him though, she gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"It's flattering that you care whether or not I'll be okay," she whispered, her eyes twinkling. "After this, when we make it through this, we're going to some place nice and quiet and we're going to talk about what happened on Erilnar."

Turning with a twirl in her step, she went over to a side room to change into her armor. She had just designed this suit, hadn't tested it yet, but she quite liked it for what it was right now. Pulling on the bodyglove, she affixed all the plates to it using the Force since she didn't have anyone helping her put it on. Pulling on the bracer that contained her hidden blade, she placed her shoto in the holster on the back of her belt and her normal one on its normal spot. Picking up the mask that went along with it, she walked out into the room and smiled at him.

"So what do you think?" she asked, turning around to give him a full view, even though they were about to go on a dangerous mission to stop and insane and psychotic Sith doctor. "I know it's a bit form fitting, but it's what I designed for now."

Seras was watching more now, letting her eyes trail across the screen more. She had subjects to work on and while the prisoners were going into one of the rooms there was the silent hiss in her mind. The doors that were opening into the academy hadn't been opened in centuries she was guessing or since the last team someone had sent went in. Her attention went back to the one on her table and she spoke. A tray coming into view as she ran a gloved hand down the face of him speaking. "How interesting, your people left you here... abandoning you when you needed them most and my men say you were still spouting they would save you."

The twi'lek was looking up at her, his lips trembling while the lekkus were... pinned with wire to the table. She hadn't started cutting on them just yet preferring the more subtle talking with him first. She was watching on the screen while they were picking through frozen chucks of bodies and splintered wood. The remains of anything within the academy were making their heartbeats go faster and faster as fear and adrenaline took hold. Seras sighed a little at that cause it was always hard to find ones with backbone still intact as she listened to the boy. "What was that?" He looked at her and spit getting a crimson line of liquid.

Oh that did it and she was looking upon him. A yellow fire in her eyes but not from the darkside it was natural almost at this point and gave contrast to the pale, burned skin. "Now that wasn't nice and here I was offering you all these things... all these chances to gain food and water for yourself. All you had to do was talk with me but now." Seras released the wires for his lekku while she was speaking. "So much disappointment but I suppose we'll have the next one able to talk. You one are all the same in the end after all." The boy was released from the table as Seras pushed him to one side and grabbed a metal rod from the table.

She swung the metal rod and the sickening snap of bone came as he fell over. She held the rod in her hand as she kept beating him with the window opening. Two more prisoners were standing on the other side of a window and pounding on it in fear. The gas they were being exposed to exacerbating their fear of seeing their friend beaten. Seras struck him again and again while moving around him and stopped lifting her arm. "Come now boy you really need to learn to respect your betters. I offered you incentives and you spit in my face." There was a look on his face as he mouthed something and Seras looked down at him.

"What is that lamb chop... you'll need to speak up. I think you might have a collapsed lung." He was coughing up blood as Seras looked at the ones in the room on the other side of the window. "This will be what happens to you... well less since I can sell your organs or do far worse." She had to smirk as the one girl was clawing her eyes out, fingernails tearing at her flesh before her screams could be heard when the doctor turned on the intercom. Seras looked on and laughed now while the other was trying to curl up in the fetal position with her hands over her ears. Seras let her eyes go to the screen to watch her mens progress while her scalpel went to work on the twi'lek.

They were moving through the rooms now and finding more fresh things. Seemed someone had sent people here and they were painted on the walls with arterial spray but there were no bodies. The fear and panic could be seen in their heartbeats while the scratching sounds of things were being picked up. She got the alert of something moving past them on the sensors while her eyes glowed with yellow gold fire. "Perfect, make sure an advanced team is ready to go and retrieve them once they are infected and secure as much fresh tissue as you can in quarantine procedures." There was a confirmation from her men as they prepared.

Certainly not a stealth ship! Accelerating toward the target, this old freighter was bumping around everywhere, she really needed some work! One or two of the special forces on board gave each other a glance, wondering if they’d touch down at all. “Okay when we are down there keep it simple. I don’t need to tell you, straight in and out.” Kei said to everyone, used to the old ship's turbulence, she was just saying hello. “No heroes.”

The words weren’t needed for the veterans he had with him, they’d seen enough action to take on a platoon each, most just nodded but he got a wise crack or two and a call to settle down from the sgt with them. “Yes Master, we’ll update you with our location,” he said to [member="Connor Harrison"] over comms, glancing to the wildcards comm specialist to keep them informed.

“T minus 30 and counting, final prep for disembark,” the pilot signaled out to those behind him, a roar of the freighters engines and further juddering followed and she hit the ground, literally hit the ground, breaking a landing strut, again, oh well.

“Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go.” The sergeant with him gave the signal, and the landing ramp came down, the Kage sergeant was a hard man if there ever was one, but he got the troops whipped up and moving well enough. Whipping his hand around in the air to indicate he wanted a perimeter setup around the ship.

“I want a straight path to the source, no surprises keep tight together, you know the drill,” Rixx the LT called, the men were strapped up in their sealed battle armor, helmets on given the danger, not Kei though he never wore it. “Give me a feed of the facility's layout, best guess pilot.” Kei added, flicking to life the view screens of each wildcard, which got an update on the structure, it wasn’t going to be correct but it would at least give them a best guess as to what the design of the place might be like inside.

After few minutes of checking the surrounding landscape, covering each other’s approach, Kei out in front, with his saber in one hand, the standard wildcard’s particle rifle over the other shoulder, they reached the facility and decided to fan out, setting up a defensive perimeter, weapons loaded and locked ahead on the target.

After a moment, giving Taeli her privacy, Connor moved to the refresher where his armour lay on the floor and began piecing it back together. The armourweave wasn't present, but he still had the duraplast silver and black plates that covered his upper body. Cortosis plates were fixed, with a little difficulty, but bore the signs of minimal scuffs. Looking in the mirror, he would need Taeli to make sure the rear of his armour was in place tight enough. It sat well on his neck and it wasn't heavy to hinder movement.

He started into the eyes of the man before him, on the brink of change and about to try and prove himself to not just his own mind but also to the one who was constantly investing faith in him. Moving back into the main hold, looking ever more the Jedi Master he should be, lightsaber at his side, he was greeted with the sight of Taeli looking far more suited for battle than reading or crafting spells.

With a smile, he looked her up and down, taking in the design of the armour and all the areas he could make out that would help her move and fight in battle.

"I like it. I've never seen anything like that before - is it harkening back to the Sith, or something totally unique? Oh, and can you just check my back to make sure this is sitting alright?"

He turned around, keeping his head facing towards Taeli as best he could.

"And question, is there anything you require of me in this little expedition? I don't want to get in the way."

"OH, this is something I designed from an idea that popped into my head," she said, coming over and checking Connor's armor. "No intentional connotations to the Sith, I assure, I just thought it looked nice. Mainly durasteel, but the body glove is made of molytex, which was something the old Jedi and Sith vac suits used as protection."

"Everything looks good," she said, tightening one part of the armor slightly. "As for what I require of you, just something really little. Just watch my back and front and I'll do the same for you. This is not going to be something you've probably faced before, the level of . . . unnaturalness. I know you've fought against the Sith and their creations before, but this is going to be different. So, in short . . ."

Leaning up, she kissed him lightly and whispered, "Be careful and we should make it through this fine."

Stepping back, she lowered the ramp of the ship and descended out into the snowy weather outside, the academy very nearby and she could hear roars and screams from within. Things had already begun, but she was fairly confident they could stop the Medical Corps from getting what they needed. She hoped anyways.

[member="Connor Harrison"] [member="Kei Amadis"] [member="Taeli Rae"]

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH The screaming coming from the room as she was clawing her face, the crimson lines leaving little as Seras stood over her and pried the girls hands away putting her against the wall. Shackles to hold her in place while ribbons of flesh were hanging from her face. Seras was working while the other one still remained curled up on the floor while she stood over him. Changing up the cartridges of gas the sith laughed spraying it into the face. He wasn't going to be bothering her while she was working her way back to looking at the woman. She was strapped with the pooling blood under her.

That was just the start though while Seras went to work, her laser scalpel coming around while she was moving almost humming jovially to herself with the screams of the other man. She finished slowly with the girl applying synth skin to her face and head allowing i to be transparent and show red muscle, bones, blood while still functioning. Her own self inflicted injuries taken care of while Seras slowly started to clean under and clip her nails down to the quick while the girl was passed out. She seemed groggy while standing there as Seras back up to look at her work. Getting a black patient gown so she wasn't just standing there nude.

The sounds that were coming from the screen were a dangerous thing. Her soldiers hadn't moved out yet but were making a second barrier in the animal pens that had its entrance to the academy secured. Sentry turrets in the quarters creating a strong kill zone that was sealed with only the one way to the ship. With the remained cleared away and in the pens all that was left was the slowly moving crawl to reach the rooms the team were in. Stringing up better lights and sensors while releasing remotes into the vents to scout and map them, she didn't want surprises sneaking up on them while the storm was coming in on the outside and the droids finished.

Outside the ship it was a cradle for the prison transport, not as detailed and strong as the one on Coruscant but it tunnels into the snow until it met stone and ice to make a wall and was made to not be scaled with odd angles and small spikes. She wasn't sure how strong the things could jump while snow started to bat down and they were sealing it with a canopy with towers to watch. Sometimes prefabricated walls and bases could come in handy for quicker construction while she had the droids that were building remain outside. Not being able to be infected and their torches could come in handy.

The sith doctor was monitoring the vitals of the team who were scared now, they had lost one of their own and ran into the other rooms. One coming out of the academy into the central area as the ruins of the ancient tower stood there like a dangerous exposed wound that even the snows could not cover it. Another had found a large room with ruined and destroyed beds that were splintered from destruction, the final one who hadn't tied was in the library with it burned books and large rotting branches that were growing flowers. Seras looked at it and was making notes to send what force users they had to try and retrieve some of the flowers by bonding with them.

Their fear had made them stupid and with them running off into the academy. It made containment harder and their process of inching forward to carefully secure the area section by section was proving a dangerous gambit now. She was plotting it and planning with their soldiers while moving from the room with the red faced woman who was going to make for great conversation when she finally woke up. Until then as Seras was looking at what they had done while the map was going. She was getting some reports of blips moving against the snow and on the audio as her grin under her mask was there wider then ever.

She was also playing with a few ideas while the one who had been attacked was still clinging to life. His bodies temperature was spiking and heart rate slowing. The doctor was observing when the team arrived looking into the camera they had for the man and firing into the infected that were still there. A flame unit being used on them while she saw the monitor flatlined and now Seras was looking closely. Her eyes glued to the screen and taking in each section of the read out for that moment when it happened. She spoke. "Record everything, and start running all analysis of infected." She was watching and there was something.

She wasn't certain but it seemed like a blip and spike in the brain for a moment while she saw the camera moving. The body being restrained and a container put over the head while the soldiers let their armor protect from the fingers. There was the sound of snapping over the comlink as it was biting from under the containment shell. Seras was looking at all of it as she pulled up some screens and was looking over her vials. There was maybe a chance she could do what others had tried... and weaponize it. She knew the dangers of working with it and starring at the screen was laughing with the idea of spraying it in a jedi's face and letting them go home.

Or at least she knew the value of fear... fear of the virus, fear of the possibility it could be weaponized and fear that they might have a chance to deploy it. She wasn't certain if she could make it into a weapon but she could try and if she failed then it would only cost some prisoners and there were always more people able to be used as subjects. she had something being brought in now to one of the quarantine pods from the kree ship for them to observe and get samples from. Based on the screaming coming over the comlink she was suspecting it was calling for more infected to come to the academy.

Seras was looking it over and had her attachment in display, the look of them had a great deal but she wasn't sure about all the vials. The size might be a dangerous thing and she would need droids to fill them but oh designing this she could think of a few things. Her fingers going over a few of the other cartridges of interrogation gas, fear gasses and psychotic sprays that could induce violence into the ones she was facing. On the infected she doubted it would do anything but on the prisoners and anyone who came snooping while she tightened its positioning and obscured it a little more on her armor.

His head racing, stomach churning and skin tingling with emotion and fear, Connor braced himself for the snowy terrain with his loose cowl covering his head. It needed modification as it wasn’t cut out for this sort of terrain, but for now it would do. He had ideas for the armour, but that was for later.

Noises ahead made Connor falter a little in his step; distant and nightmarish, like the inside of his head when the voices called to him in his Sith visions. Focusing on the snowy ground before him, chunks of brown rock sticking up in random areas, he tried to blank out the noise. Never more would he face a challenge of not giving into becoming a wild monster himself, but one in control and who is ready to serve a purpose, and also protect Taeli from danger.

It seemed the Raaf sisters had a habit of dragging Connor into trouble, and he could laugh about it were his thoughts not pre-occupied with everything swirling around his head. Holding his arm out a little for balance on the unstable terrain, the noises were getting closer and it wasn’t just the cold air giving Connor a chill; the Dark Side was present, and it was strong, raw and powerful. Taeli didn’t deserve to be let down, not now.

Glancing up into the sky, he wondered what was happening above their heads with Kei and the back-up he had hopefully brought.

North of the Academy.
Heading into the academy, not yet toward the ship or its defences.

“Knight Amadis, we are picking up a lot of activity inside, possible construction work, recommending we bypass and roof access.” The advantage of a careful approach was you didn’t run right into a head on fight you didn’t want.

“You found a vent?”

Sergeant Ionan pointed toward the air processing unit, and Kei nodded.

Cracking over the comm unit to [member="Connor Harrison"], there was some static interference, “the academy is possibly being fortified Master, Heading ******Static****** possibly multiple barricades, we are about to enter through the roof to avoid a head on fight, suggest caution, *****Static****” unaware of the mounting dangers that lay inside. Rather than blow a hole right through, Wildcards were experts at breaching and infiltration, scaling quietly, that’s what they did. In a few short moments one slicer was on the roof running ventilation codes through his scrambler, it popped open. With no loud bang, it would probably look like roof access, or if they were lucky a malfunction.

In the team went to one of the larger buildings, clustered up in the vents, but covering each other with flamers, so anything moving toward them was in a funnel of death, thankfully nothing came yet, just a dark cramped space, with a noticable dripping of moisture coming off the ceiling.

Breaching down, a lower air duct was removed and they began to move into the northern academy corridors, these were even darker, with flickering lights and that ever present moisture in the air. Cameras were being taken out by ion weapons north of the academy as they moved, so anyone getting glimpses of them, would only do so momentarily. The wildcards numbers in the dark corridors would be hard to predict, and it might, to anyone monitoring a careful experiment make things even harder! Little did they breaching soldiers know what they’d just walked into…

"Odd numbers, switch to thermal vision." LT Rixx gave the order, so that half of the wildcards were now running on heat sensitive tracking in their battlearmor.

Long tunnels, dark and flickering lights.

“Looks like some surface damage to the wall here.” A solider said, pressing it with his gun.

“Listen up, pull those hands away, this ain't no sightseeing trip people. Put two flamers on point, explosive particle weapons backing them up, one heavy to each squad.” Sergeant Ionan was no fool, Kei had been out of the game awhile, but this man trained every day with these men. One squad stayed forward, the other back, so they moved a turtle might, also called a mobile hedgehog defense in some circles, guns pointing in all directions.

The snowy tundra crunching under their boots, the storm whipping up even more fiercely, Taeli scowled as she pulled out her life sign scanner. It would be useless against any zombies that were here, but it would pick up any of the Medical Corps that was near here. They had probably established one of their dungeon ships nearby, but that wasn't the only cause for concern.

The dark side was everywhere here, permeating the very air. A chill ran down her spine, but she knew how to resist the call and the whispers that accompanied such a darkness. She would never go back into that darkness.

"I know the dark side is strong here, but you can stay strong," she said, using the Force to project her voice to Connor. "The Medical Corps has deployed containment troops at the main entrance of the academy from what the life sign scanner is reading. Unless we want to fight our way in, ill-advised I think, I would recommend going over the wall here."

Pulling out a fibercord launcher from her belt, she smiled at her companion and fired the cord up to the top of the wall. She had a feeling that they would be discovered sooner rather than later, but the storm might forestall that. As she climbed, with hopefully Connor right behind her, she could hear a scream echoing from within the ancient academy. A scream that was unnatural, inhuman even.

Something horrible was happening here, something that needed stopped.

Her lightsaber hilt found its way into her hand as she crested the wall, but she refrained from activating the blade or blades. It would be best to keep unnecessary lights to a minimum, even though as a Sithspawn, the zombies could see in the dark. This mission was not going to be pleasant.

"You ready?" she asked Connor.

Taeli would feel Connor behind her, but he stayed silent – focusing on anything other than overthinking the Dark Side web they were apparently walking into. With a hand over his brow to block on the flakes of snow whipping up around him, the duo moved forward on her lead.

Watching her operate, he took in their surroundings and kept his senses open as best he could before Kei came in a distorted message. As Taeli began to climb, with the aid of a very interesting gadget, Connor called up as he followed. The sounds of the un-natural beings echoed and barked through the wind like wild monsters, and it chilled the Jedi to his core.

”My Knight is enroute to the roof of the Academy, and advises caution and droids. Whatever that means.”

Fingers gripping the cord, boots pushing off the wall, Connor climbed and crested the lip of the wall after Taeli did, and he looked at her with a film nod. He withdrew himself from everything he could – his emotion and his wants – to become something that would be used to protect her and safeguard Kei if he needed it.

”Kei, we’re coming in over a perimeter wall and will keep in contact – be careful, and don’t take any unnecessary risks. Leave that to me,” he said into the comlink with a wry smile.

Placing his palms on the wall below and closing his eyes to centre himself and find that light to retain, Connor spoke.

”Ready.”

The blips were appearing, on the scanner as things were coming. Seras watched it all as she moved into the outer area of the paddock for the animals. She Had some of the soldiers moving out while looking down the long hall. The old masters had created this to escape and it was a tunnel with a bio scanner as she was setting it up. The sith doctors face contorted while she traveled down the tunnel and was looking at the harsher lights leading into the newly sealed reinforced doors. They were making progress but clearing the chamber ahead or the frozen over wood and blood was important as purge units got to work.

She observed from a screen the room while droids were working and sealing the other sides. Filters and casings being added to the windows that led outside to connect and reach the central area. Further down towards the library as she checked her equipment and opened the doors. heading into the room while letting some of the soldiers through before they sealed it and the sensors scanned her. Heat sensors for body heat and bio for infection if they were. She was observing what they had as the room got cleared out and another series of walls with scanners were put up. Reinforced bolts digging into the stones to secure them.

"Heer Doctor the doorways will be secured first before moving on, section by section we will be able to reclaim the academy for purposes." Seras was looking at him and held a grin on her face while she was looking over the academy from another screen. Someone was knocking out their advanced sensors and it sounded like other things were coming towards them then just the infected. Her damage to the beacon hadn't gone unnoticed while she reached out with the force to feel for the people. She could feel something more but it wasn't big, more she was getting that nagging at the back of her head again.

"I don't know who has come to this academy but hoping you'll find what you can amongst the dead." She was paying attention to her scans and spoke a little more while she walked and touched the wall. "You'll see there is something else here, where life gathers they will come to consume. There is something almost beautiful in them, a uniformity to them. Free of individual thoughts, or grudges, they don't plot against each other and can be for thousands of years." She didn't say live, she didn't believe they were alive but the galaxy was a strange place and there were mysteries within it as she listened to the howls.

"You will fight back, no one wants to willingly give up the sickness of freedom or what they believe is their rights." She was looking at it now, these jedi would try and preserve each person thinking they were special. She knew they would fight to their last breath if she let them but it was easier to convert a world of corpses with this for the cause then it was to try and convince them. A smirk under her mask while the ruined tower outside was displayed with more figures showing up, inky shadows moving against the grainy screen as the one she had sent and had ran out there was running again from something else.

She could hear him pounding against the metal and screaming as the walls held from him and thick heavy turadium plates to keep it secured in case of sabers being used by the infected. It would give them a chance to defend against it and resist while she started plotting out and looking over some of the map of the academy as she was mapping where they would be moving next to secure the rooms and hallways. She turned and looked at her men while she directed them to the one hallways coming off the room they were in near a staircase. "Take some men and lock down this hallways, seal the top of the stairs and end as well as the vents."

There was a nod of agreement from him and confirmation as they were moving off with droids and going through the doors to secure it. Get the plates secured and in place quickly to clean it out and add another section to the map as secured, she wasn't taking chances and the the more they progressed only holding the grounds they could the better it would be as she spoke. "Prepare additional plans, we will work on how to seal the academy off from the rest of the mountain. Explosives and large walls that can't be scaled. We will also require more droids discreetly with the materials."

There were nods of agreement and orders were being issued, Seras had plans formulating and more ideas now. Better ones that might work for future endeavors if they could do it properly. She wasn't going to penalize those would couldn't but looking over a hologram showing the area the academy was in and the mountain range... She started on some ideas. A ring of powerful explosives that could make a divide long and deep enough they could separate the academy and section of mountain it is in to cut the infected from getting inside. Then prefabricated walls high up with towers and heavy defenses.

"Do you believe it could work doctor?" The assistant was right but she kept looking at it as she thought about it working. They could find a way and the sith had special ways, working with a secret base to stave off the infection or at least research it. She was looking at the more dangerous parts of the academy they would need to secure such as the tower's ruins where the infection had started. There was the library and the older ruins with the ritual chamber they would need to secure. Reports were coming in that things were moving and getting more active as she saw some turrets being brought to defend the hallways they were securing.

She could hear that in the outside, as the one subject was screaming and howling as he was getting ripped apart. She could see it on the screen and spoke. "Continue working and make sure none of our people are in unsecured areas. Well the ones who have value, infected levels have tripled outside from the looks of it and we have guests. I want this room and the hallway secured with additional turrets and droids. Have the raw materials brought to me." Seras turned around while she had the containers of pieces, what had been ripped off the subjects and preserved it a special glass case with gloves she could use.

While Seras was working on the infected flesh she was making small notes and observations. The ones who were trapped outside moving as one had found his way outside to see his fellow prisoner being torn to shreds. A scream from the creatures alerting the others to his presence as he was running off towards the large staircase leading up to the entrance arch of the academy. He started running up the stairs taking huge gulps of air as the screen changed to show his vitals and turning only when there was the sight of figures at the top of the stairs. The other one in the library was calm for now and moving quickly until he fell into a hole.

Seemed their trick at breaching the roof of the academy's building hadn’t got them anywhere, just facing a large metal wall cut into the mountain, one of the soldiers just banged his hand against the solid wall they were facing. “Better back up the other way, no way through here, not without letting them know were coming.” Someone called, still not sure they’d been spotted, or if they had that the facilities owners knew where they were.

“No way through?” Kei said with a broad grin, extending the saber to begin to cut a hole, and they were soon through breaching into the a library it looked like, a locked and sealed library sadly by the looks of it. Everything was burned and falling to pieces, but locked, that meant more cutting or explosives, and more delays.

“I’ve missed working with you.” Rixx remarked about his lightsaber, giving Kei a friendly bang to his chest as he worked.

[member="Connor Harrison"]’s communication came in, and Kei answered, still the weather or the mountain itself was making the communication garbled, “Yes Master, we’ll stay silent as we can. We can hear… ****Static**** from a few doors ahead but so far outside ****Static****, we’ll be staying to cover”

Through into the library they came cautiously, taking slow and steady steps, it was as dark in here as outside, thermal vision scanning for any signs of trouble.

“Spread out people, and I want teams of four, watch your spacing.” Sergeant Ionan ordered in his usual authoritative tone. The men squaring off to check the library inch by inch. The darkness making the task slow and taking a lot longer than Kei would have liked.

“Try that new Macro motion monitor Sergeant, I want to see if it’s working in the field.” Rixx called. They never had the best tech but they always had something, in this case a fifty meter motion tracker on one of the men’s helmets.

“This is a hell of a time to test tech.” One of the soldiers grumbled.

“Lock that mouth up soldier, you heard him, get that motion sensor online.”

As soon as they did…. “Sir you better see this….” Oooohhh frell, he rotated the viewer.

Three guns and a flamer turned towards the hole containing the library occupant, but nobody fired because they didn't know who it was, and because that wasn’t what had them worried, it was the outside that had them worried, where they’d just come from, and the large amount of moving bodies. Nobody knew if those moving bodies were infected, only how many were there, and it looked like a lot.

“Seal the hole?” Two of the wildcards got out a welding device, another two heaving the metal back up to put it in place, and yet another two covering them. That left four guns aiming at the hole, edging closer to it, and another two plus Kei looking around for anything suspicious.

“Yes.” Kei said, getting a very bad feeling, “quickly.”
