''Activate the Droids!'' (Paecian Empire/Geonosis)

Geonosis

Once a major part of the original Confederacy of Independant Systems in the great Clone Wars of old, Geonosis was known for it's vast underground foundries and shipyards, which churned out a vast part of the massive droid army that once nearly conquered the entire galaxy if not for the plans of Darth Sidious, the secret leader of both sides in the war. Ever since that time, most of the old CIS droid refineries had been forgotten, left undisturbed for a great many years, with their locations long since forgotten.....or so initially thought by the majority of the galaxy at large.

Count Veril Morcus, Viceroy of Void Station and also Minister of Finance to the Paecian Empire, had other ideas. He had sent many scouts and agents to the planet to locate the renowned droid foundries of old initially as part of his own secretive plans. But with his newly found loyalty to the Paecian Empire, the Count had sensed a different usage for said foundries. He knew the ACA was on it's last legs now, and on the verge of falling into the great darkness of history, and that the systems that made up their space would inevitably fall into neutrality once more. Steps had to be taken to ensure his own power, and that of the rising Paecian Empire he was slowly building up financially.

If the Paecian Empire were to claim this part of the Outer Rim for themselves, they would need a vast army and fleet to secure it before other parties tried to take advantage of the situation. That.....would be where the foundries of Geonosis would be required. If they could be repaired and reactivated, the Count would be able to easily start work on constructing a new Droid Army and Navy to begin the first phase of his plans. Recently, his efforts to locate one of the old foundries had finally payed off. Word had reached him of the entrance of such a facility being tucked away within one of the planet's forgotten valleys.

Mustering a strike force of Paecian agents under the assistance of his personal Morcusian Steel Legion, a lone Lucrehulk carrying the group would soon arrive in planetary orbit above Geonosis to begin the operation....

Their objectives were simple:
1. Secure a landing zone outside the old Foundry.
2. Defeat any still functioning Battle Droid sentries, if there are any.
3. Secure the foundry and ensure it remains adequately protected until Hoersch-Kessel engineer teams can arrive to reactivate it.

Within the bridge of the Lucrehulk, the Count sat quietly on his command throne, quietly awaiting the events he had long planned for to soon unfold.

Tyuk sat and waited for the ship to land. He hated the insect like in habitats of the planet almost as much as the planet itself, he felt it was like being in one huge ant nest. He wanted to make sure he spent only the time it took to accomplish their goal, and then go far away from this horrible planet.

They began to arrive at the Old Foundry where they were required to clear a landing zone so they can commence the takeover. He started to get himself ready, adjusting his robe ever so slightly and pulling the hood back to reveal the large yellowish horns jutting out from his skull. He then adjusted the double-bladed lightsaber clipped to his belt, making sure it was secure and easily accessible when the action undoubtedly broke out. After making sure all his items were in check, he sat on the floor of the ship and began to do some pre-battle meditation, hoping to gather the force and further unleash the power of the dark side on his enemies.

Geonosis.

It was simply preparing for a glorious rise to power that brought agents of the Paecian Empire to the red planet. In recent history, this world had been a major production facility for the second incarnation of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. However, the stagnation of this nation had led it to become a prime target for those that would revive it for greater purposes. As such, Hyperspace was opened and delivered a single Hades-class Cruiser alongside the Lucrehulk already present in orbit. This vessel, owned by Stargo Defense Enterprises, ferried the owner of the corporation...who was also fiercely loyal to the budding Empire.

Today, he would utilize the assets of his corporation to assist the Paecian objective. A landing zone was the first priority, followed by securing ancient foundries that were once utilized by the original Confederacy. Standing at the helm, Darth Metus took a moment to open a channel on the comm; addressing those who were on the Lucrehulk nearby. "This is Darth Metus. I will be launching support fighters alongside the Dropship and will be personally heading to the surface in order to help secure the landing zone. I will require some help doing this, as I'm sure we'll have renegade Confederates or dusty droids to deal with." With that said, the Sith Lord departed from the bridge, turning over control of the vessel to his chosen helmsman.

From there, he descended to the Hangar and stepped within one of the dropships strewn about. Darth Metus was certain that the Lucrehulk held similar accommodations for the Paecian personnel and as such felt comfortable launching as is. With but a wave of his hand, the pilot took the signal to ignite the engines. Likewise, the droid starfighters surrounding the Dropship stirred to life. A few seconds of warming up occurred before a momentous launch into the black of space. Descent was quick, and by the time the Dropship and its starfighter escort broke atmosphere, there was weapons fire upon them.

It was going to be a bumpy ride.

Edison Bulkhead

Edison Bulkhead was waiting for Metus when he entered the hanger bay. "Master," she said with a bow. "Heard you over the comm, couldn't think of a better place to be." It was true; if Metus was going to capture Geonosis as a first step to establishing this new empire, by his side was the best, not to mention safest, place to be.

But the witch didn't follow Metus into his dropship. Hers was berthed next to his, and contained four savage rancor. One Edison would ride, and the others she'd control. She would have liked to bring more, but her control over the Force was not yet great enough, and she didn't want to endanger the creatures. On the surface she'd wreak as much havoc as she could in an effort to assist in the planet's takeover.

Edison's ship followed Metus' out of the hanger. The witch rode in the cargo bay in order to keep an eye on her bestial charges, strapping herself into a flexible webbed harness on a bench. With no windows, she had no idea there was a problem until the first salvo hit her ship, causing the rancor to snort and law the deck nervously.

"Nothing to worry about," she told them, trying to calm both the beasts and herself. "Probably just some atmospheric entry turbulence."

The ship rocked again, throwing Edison hard against her retraints. One of the rancor's roared.

"You're right," she muttered, looking up at the ceiling. "That was no turbulence."

Tyuk sat patiently in his ship as the pilot droid plotted their course to Geonosis. Tyuk knew that the Paecian Empire needed this mission to be a victory, and he was surely prepared to deliver. Especially since it was the first mission assigned to him from his new master, Darth Metus, whom Tyuk was very eager to please. "Approximately how long will it take for us to reach Geonosis?" Tyuk asked the pilot droid.

The droid whizzed and beeped, calculating the route in its processor. "It will take approximately 1 day and 13 hours to reach our destination of Geonosis"

"Hmph, looks like we got a long ride on our hands" Tyuk said to himself, "Might as well prepare for the events to come." Tyuk sat down and crossed his legs, letting himself fill with the power of the Dark Side, letting the Dark Side flow through him and become a part of him. He slowly began to rise off the cool durasteel floor of the hull, and fully entered his Dark Side meditative trance. Allowing himself to build his Dark Side powers, and allowing for time to pass quite a bit quicker. So the ride wouldn't be quite as boring.

Tyuk's meditative trance was broken as the ship violently lunged to the left. He rose to his feet and walked over to his pilot droid, "Whats with the erratic maneuvers? Turbulence?"

"So sorry about that Master Asha" the droid said in it's monotonic gender neutral voice "We seem to be getting fired upon"

Tyuk gazed out the cockpit window, his eyes took a minute to adjust to the harsh light of the planet, but when they did he saw what was firing at them. In front of them was a giant cavernous structure, Tyuk was able to spot a couple of anti-air turrets spread out around the perimeter of the structure. Manning the turrets were no doubt the remaining CIS droids, all probably still believing that this was the clone wars. "Is there any chance we could destroy the turrets with the weapons we have onboard" Tyuk asked the pilot droid

"This ship is only equipped with two small blaster cannons, hardly enough firepower to take those turrets down"

"Damn" Tyuk uttered "Okay, just keep us out out of harms way until the other get here, at least one of them is bound to have more firepower" the droid clicked and whizzed, and then returned it's full attention to piloting the ship. Tyuk sat back and took out his com link "Tyuk here, I've arrived at the foundry. In terms of initial firepower, there seems to be a few anti-air turrets around the perimiter of the structure, but not much else. My ship doesn't have enough firepower to take them down, so I'll lay low and wait for one of you guys to get here. Tyuk out"

It was one thing to take former Confederate factories, and then quite another to be moving in on the turf of Atlas Fabrication. As the Paecian Empire ships made their descent upon Geonosis, they were literally flying right into the bees' nest. Geonosian warriors scouted the intruders, sensor systems marked their fleets, and tens of thousands of battle droids loomed beneath the dusty crags and plains of this arid world.

As for Kronos, he hibernated humbly within his main subterranean factory complex. The Prometheus was in the next system with most of his personal army, though BX-series Droid Commandos and MagnaGuards comprised his personal elite for this encounter. Whether the Paecians were here for friendship or not, they were in for a surprise if the latter was their choice.

In Orbit around Geonosis
"There it is, Geonosis." Krest leaned back in his rather comfortable seat, looking to his rather new apprentice K'sara. She had wanted to come to the old CIS homeworld, and he had nothing better to do. As per normal, he was dressed in his normal armor, and he had both of his sabers strapped to his waist. He was however, missing his crossbow. The pair had just came out of hyperspace, unknowing of what was going on below him.
"Doesn't seem like there's a lo- wait." The blue gaze of the man would trail down to one of his scanners. "There's something down there, I'm not sure what. .. That's not where we're going is it?" Once more he would look to the girl, a rather curious look on his face.

The Count transmitted his orders down to the planet below via the ship comms array, speaking in his usual calm and professional tone of voice. ''Alright everyone. I want this operation to go as smoothly as possible. I have a vague idea what you'll be dealing with down there, but whatever you do, DON'T go in guns blazing immediately. I'd like to try and claim the foundries as peacefully and with little damage as possible. If there are beings or intelligent droids within, attempt to establish dialogue. Keep me posted on your progress. That is all.''

Soon, a lone protocol droid waddled over, bringing the Count a cup of tea while he sat in the ship command throne. Taking his cup in hand, he took a long sip, sighing contently. This would be a long day, but a very rewarding one, if everything went to plan.

"We are." K'sara went to a meditative sitting position and scanned the planet. "That's exactly what I dreamed of, Master." She said to Krest and yawned. "Shall we find out exactly what in the Force is happening?" She asked and rose from the meditation. She touched the staffsaber on her hip and lifted it to view. The Vindicator hilt balanced fairly well in her hand. It seems like her spar with Krest would have to wait. She heard some sort of beeping coming from a nearby console. It appeared to be a transmission remnant that caught their communications relay.

"Wait.... What is this--?" She asked as she was able to intercept the transmission, and she looked to her master as it played. When the transmission ended, she smiled. "Let's go with a ground game, but stay mindful. I haven't been here in ages and it looks untouched... This could be our lucky day. Time to get ourselves a combat droid and a protocol droid." She then broke into a mumble. "And I will finally get my chance to replicate the electrostaves of Grievous's Magnaguards."

"I'm not really looking to get any droids.." The man would cast a sidelong glance to his pilot droid with disdain. It seemed he wasn't exactly a fan of droids. But he would end up having the robot to get to the landing. Nodding once to [member="K'sara"], he would roll his shoulders a bit before popping out his wrist saber, making sure it worked. The other secret blade seemed to be fine. So far, he was in working order.

"If we get into a scrap, be careful to defend the center of your staff. I'm sure you know it, but I don't want you loosing your blade." His ship did not have stealth capabilities. Not only that, he was pretty apparent to any down below if they looked at their radar. None the less, he would descend, trying to be as non threatening as possible. Looking to his droid again, he would issue another command.

"We get contacted, patch me in immediately." A swift nod from the robot man, and they were on their way. Hopefully they wouldn't get shot down.

Geonosis: Spire Landing

She laughed softly at Krest's hatred toward droids. "If it makes you feel any better, I know how to "speak" droid." The droid would chime in with what seemed to be a laughter of its own. She glanced to the droid, then to [member="Krest"], then to the droid once more. "I'll give you a good maintenance when we return, alright pal?"

"Exasperated Interjection: It has been eons since my last check up. I would much appreciate any adjustments you may give to my motor functions, in hopes that all will become less strenuous when I am needed for more than just... Piloting." The droid replied, seeming displeased with it's current condition.

"Master, do you ever stop to get him checked on?" K'sara asked Krest, displeased at what she heard. "Oh, we can get on that subject later, but I'll give routine maintenance biweekly. Anyway, on the subject on my lightsaber. If you're that worried about me becoming defenseless against laser fire or another duelist, allow me to carry a single hilt with me and a blaster for a plan B, should I need it."

The ship continued it's descent, and there was no resistance surprisingly. Apparently, the bucket of bolts picked a good spot to land. one of the abandoned Geonosian Spires. If they left the ship there, she would need to place some sort of "security" device nearby. Her idea was trip mines.

[member="Darth Metus"] [member="Count Morcus"] [member="Tyuk Asha"]

Tyuk issued a command to the pilot droid for them to land on one of the many expansive Geonosian Spires in the area. As they descended towards the spire Tyuk felt a slight pulse in the force 'might need to watch out' he thought to himself. The droid landed their ship and Tyuk lowered the boarding ramp, a sudden burst of heat and wind completely filled the ship, "Damn Geonosis" he said, cursing the planet and its horribly hot weather, something he always despised about it.

Tyuk walked down the ramp and into the full exposure of Geonosis' environment, he began to walk towards the roof entrance to the spire, and he felt the same twinge in the force. He withdrew his lightsaber, not igniting it yet, but keeping his finger on the button, ready to ignite it in a split second. He got into the spire and began exploring it, he went further and further down the spire, until he came upon a ship. He looked around the cavern, checking for any sign of life, there seemed to be none, so he began his advance towards the ship, and that's when he heard a familiar click, familiar and deadly. He sprang back and took cover behind a large rock as the explosion of the trip mine echoed throughout the otherwise dead silent spire. And that's when he felt the presence of a force user, no, two force users coming towards him.

The interior of the Espada class transport was stuffy and cramped. Running in full stealth mode, with the hope trinity of thrust trace dampners, stygium cloak and gravitic modulators all running together, all heat was kept inside the ship. Sure, they tried to keep it away from the main quarters, but the blessed air conditioning didn't seem to extend to the bays were Obsidian Knights and squads of various battle droids, including hail fires, were assembled. The peregrine field disruptors was powered up and ready to go.

Raziel slid the helmet of his nightshrike armour down. The advanced stealth armour had its own internal systems for wicking away body heat and turning it into power for the systems, but it required a full seal. His augmented reality display came online, a small readout appeared in the air next to each of the Obsidian Knights in their advanced armour. It gave names and current load outs.

He checked out his own gear. Across one wrist his data terminal was loaded with spynet slicing algorithms. His other wrist had a bracers of splinter knives and a pair of poison dispensers filler with Smart tranq. On his back he had a smart grenade launcher on his bag holster and a micro turret dispenser. He had a range of grenades across his chest many non lethal, but on his belt he had a spynet personal cloaking device.

The ship moved into position silently and waited for the signal.

In the corner of the dropship sat a nondescript man, at least as nondescript as could be with his tall stature and huge bulk, his position was slightly away from the rest of the men and women organized for this specific mission, mostly because Carach, Voice of the Dark Lord, did not actually have a specific rank in the hierarchy that [member="Raziel"] had established.

As far as Raziel knew this masked man cladded in the usual Sith attire was one of the many people employed by his own shadowy patron. Usually Carach would indeed have simply sent one of his many minions, but every so often you needed to get out of the dusty books and scrolls, to aid allies directly.

Mhmmmm. Hmmm. Huuuum.’

The Sith was humming.

Geonosis had not been left undisturbed, far from it. The geonosian foundries churned out a significant fraction of the droid legions of the ACA. Hundreds of thousands had been lost in the failed attempt to wrestle Naboo out of Protectorate hands. The foundries had been running at near capacity since, preparing for another foray into Omega space. Such droids included their main battle droid, the CSBX4.

Unlike the stealth shuttles, that had dropped into real space, the task force that followed dropped in close. Their arrival would be heralded by a burst of cronau radiation.

A Gunray class was flanked by a main group of two Contention classes and a Pillar. Four Sev'rance class and three Dirks completed the group.

Irys looked across here holo display. She recognised the vessel, it belonged to Count Morcus, CEO and majority shareholder of a company she designed ships for. Well, she was here in a military, not business position.

"This is Admiral Arist'lar, we've received reports of unknown forces landing near factories that manufacture military assets, would you care to fill me in on the situation?"

K'sara sat in the seat of the cockpit for a moment longer before she shuddered and her lips parted in disbelief. A vision perhaps? She couldn't make it out, but there was definitely a disturbance in the Force. "Master, I feel a disturbance in the Force." Her gawking stopped rather quick as she went for her saber, then threw a small nut or piece of scrap at him to get his attention. Why wasn't [member="Darth Ferus"] responding to her? "Let's go, there is someone in the direct vicinity. We shouldn't be completely rude now."

She basically said screw it, and let him sleep. She rose from her "throne", and moved to the weapon vault once more and borrowed a modified assassin pistol, with miniscope and silencer, holster it on her left hip, and a pair of short sabers that she would latch on her boots. The vibroknife that she earned from her first encounter with the dark lord on Yavin would remain hidden, as per last resort. She left Ferus a holomessage and set out to meet the stranger, keeping on her guard, also feeling a pull of the Force from him. The boarding hatch opened as she approached it, her using her powers to activate the switch. When the door was dropped, she placed her mask on and activated it. A small amount of light emitted from the central T-shape of the visor, and her hood was pulled up once again. She kept the staff hilt at the ready in case the male, [member="Tyuk Asha"], decided not to be civil.

The Count tilted his head upon hearing the radio communication, before smiling. ''This is Count Veril Morcus, ACA Viceroy of Void Station and Minister of Finance to the Paecian Empire. A pleasure to see you once more, Irys. I am here on company business to take control of an rather ancient droid refinery on the planet below for our interests. I've arranged a lucrative contract which will prove quite profitable if we can wrestle control of this foundry from the battle droids and crazed natives that still guard it. Any assistance you could provide would be quite appreciated, my dear. And don't worry, I've no intention to claim any Techno Union assets while we're here. My operations are quite legal, and beneficial to both the ACA and the Paecian Empire..'', the Count said in a warm, welcoming tone. He'd placed Irys in ''command'' of his company a while back to handle the business while he handled his own affairs, and had a feeling he'd likely be able to count on her support during this operation. After all, he did write her paychecks.

"Very well, we'll hold position and monitor. I hope you understand that with Omega patrols investigating the fringes of our previous territory during the chaos, that we've been quite reactive to perceived threats. Carry on." she replied.

A burst of static broadcast in all directions might be noticed. The message it contained would be far too high encrypted to understand. It was for the stealth ships.

The young Siths attitude wouldn't go unnoticed. In fact, as soon as she would throw something she would find it bounce harmlessly away off of something. The Force, most likely, yet as the man got up, there was a deep frown on his face. He wasn't asleep. Or ignoring her. She simply wasn't giving him the time to respond. There was something darker here that had his attention, something in unseen that made him worry.

Yet he couldn't let her leave the room alone. He would follow after her, and upon reaching her he would cuff the back of her hooded head. "Next time let me respond before you decide to run off all on your own. There's something wrong here, and I don't feel like getting caught in a crossfire."

Tyuk ducked behind a rock as he heard the familiar sounds of the depressurization of a starship cabin, and the lowering of boarding ramp. He felt the presence of one increase in power, although this one wasn't as strong in the force as the other, Tyuk still wanted to keep this interaction as peaceful as possible. He slowly moved out from behind the rock and came into the view of the one walking out of the ship, there stood one of the to force-users, Tyuk didn't sense any hostility in the force, only a feeling of uncertainty, which was enough for him to finally give away his position and speak. "You, in the armor" Tyuk said as he walked closer towards the ship "I mean you no harm, I've only just stumbled upon your ship by accident" he didn't continue his approach but started moving more angular, towards one of the exits of the cavern "Now if you don't mind, I'm going to be on my way, I've got many people to meet and this is a very important meeting"
