Special Features
Strengths & Weaknesses

(+) Stealth Measures: Typically speaking, a coat of Nightshadow affords a vessel invisibility in the face of conventional sensors. However, engine emissions produced by swift movement are easily traced, thereby rendering the anti-sensor coating useless. In order to compensate for this shortcoming, Arakyd Industries incorporated TibannaX Fuel Cells. As emissions produced via TibannaX cool within milliseconds, the anti-sensory abilities of Nightshadow are preserved; even in the face of swift movement. It is to be noted that, even though the anti-sensory abilities of the Nightshadow is preserved due to the TIbannaX fuel cells, "unconventional" sensors will still function against the Aquila. (i.e. Crystal Gravfield Trap, Force Sense, etc.)

(+) Elite Status: Of the "holy trinity" of starship traits, the Aquila was built with an emphasis on firepower. As such, it enjoys an armament that is considered "elite" level. Between its variable speed laser cannons, heavy laser cannons, and flex tube launchers, it can reliably address a wide variety of targets with ease.

(+/-) Liberation: The Aquila is compatible with iBorg's exceptional Liberation Neural Piloting Interface. However, it is to be noted that the vessel is not sold with these devices by default. Furthermore, pilots equipped with said neural interface must be aware of the difficulties/risks associated with the device (outlined in detail here) and should be well-trained in its use before utilization attempts.

(-) Below Average Speed/Maneuverability: In comparison to starfighters created by Arakyd Industries thus far, the Aquila is by far the slowest. This is due to the omission of Pulsed Ion Engines which are typically incorporated into the modern lineup. Furthermore, arming the Aquila to "elite" level has resulted in an even lower speed and maneuverability overall. It can move apace with what is considered the far end of possible for a non-bomber starfighter, and is below average by the standards of Arakyd Industries.

(-) Expensive: Being composed of equipment from a grand total of four corporations, the Aquila is not a cheap vessel to produce. Between tariffs, assembly, and general expenses, this particular model has the largest price tag of any Arakyd Industries starfighter to date. As such, the company can only reasonably produce it at "minor" levels and must keep the final selling number high in order to make a solid profit. In essence, the average joe won't be seen flying this starfighter...nor will the above average joe for that matter.

Description

It is said that it takes a village to raise a child.

In the same vein, it takes more than a single corporation to create a masterpiece. Recent history has seen fortune smile down upon Arakyd Industries, granting her new allies in the ever-troubled Galaxy. From Republic-affiliated shipwrights to Galaxy-spanning hegemonies, the corporation now stands alongside many others in the quest for innovation. In light of this, the time had come to push the metaphorical envelope once more. Drafted at the hands of the CEO himself, Arakyd Industries is proud to present the A/Y-92 "Aquila" Starfighter!

Considered an "elite" starfighter by classification, the Aquila is primarily equipped with an above-average assortment of weapons. This collection is centered around a pair of variable speed laser cannons, which allow the vessel to address a wide variety of targets by means of adjusting firing rate. What's more, this versatility is augmented by Arakyd's own Flex Tube launchers, which allow for the vessel to utilize various forms of ordnance without separate, specialized tubes. On another note, the other defining feature of the Aquila is its stealth measures.

Consisting of a coat of nightshadow, the vessel is effectively veiled from standard sensory systems. What's more, the incorporation of TibannaX removes tracking via engine emissions from the equation, allowing the coating to operate at peak efficiency. However, it is to be noted that "unconventional" forms of sensory tactics will be able to detect the ship with no issue (i.e crystal gravfield traps, comm scanners, Force Sense, etc.) Despite this, the A/Y-92 "Aquila" Starfighter is an exceptional step forward made by Arakyd Industries with the assistance of her new, corporate assets and allies.
