A Total Eclipse of the Vahl [ OS dominion of Eclipse ]

Eclipse.

The Vahla Migrant fleet would warp out into real space, the One Sith Fleet at its heels. There before them lay a large asteroid field. Scouting parties in the search for the Vahla lost homeworld had picked up on this one location.

The Ember of Vahl had decreed that it would lay claim to the world that lay beyond. Scouting partings from the Cult have brought up plans of a Jedi Stronghold deep in the core. It was a station carved out of the planet’s crust and sealed against vacuum with a white plastiform.

They were here to found a new dawn for the Ember of Vahl.

Led by Darth Nephthys, the vessel of the Eye of the Dark Lord, the starships of the One Sith and the Ember of Vahl would descend upon the asteroid field.

Objectives:

Secure and scout the asteroid field around Eclipse.
Neutralize Republic Forces and secure Eclipse station for the Ember of Vahl and One Sith.
Start terraforming procedures to create a stable environment.

Objective: Secure Station

Having been born on Dagobah and forced to etch out a life most would view as barbaric, she never knew what she was. The Darkside had always been with her and when she posed the question to the one that rescued her what she was, he would only reply that she was near-human and drop the subject. But near-human never answered her question, only encouraged her more to discover anything she could about her heritage. It wasn't until she reached the Sith temple all those years ago on Coruscant that she heard the term Vahla. But what was a Vahla? She researched to the brink of exhaustion on the subject and only found bits and pieces of information.

Frustrated even more, she decided to drop the whole concept of seeking out her roots until one day she met another Vahla. The female had explained what their species was and more importantly, pointed her to a sub-group among the Sith known as the Ember of Vahl. It was there she discovered what she was. For the first time in her life she felt pride and a sense of belonging.

Standing in complete silence aboard one of the ships in the Vahla Migrant Fleet, she fought the anticipation of returning to a section of the galaxy where it was said her ancestors had come from. What would she discover about them? What would she discover about herself? Unfortunately those answers would need to wait, because if what she heard was true about this region; then she would have to expel the Republic squatters from the potential homeworld of her people. This was not business but personal; and when she made it personal...no one would be safe.

Darth Ferus said:
"W.. What the kark gives you the ability to choose who lives and who dies!? We're not pawns! We're peop-" He was cut short as the heat of the saber singed his chin. Blue eyes narrowed, but eventually the Darth would crouch down, peering directly at the man. "You're angry, aren't you? Well, that's only natural. This is war, this is what happens. If you can't handle war, well. Let me show you how." A blink came from the average man as the blue saber came down from his neck. War? How to handle it? "W.. What do you me-" His sentence was cut short as the world went black. What ever was going to be in store for him, well. He would learn when he awoke.

It has been two weeks since I have found myself within the grasp of the one known as Darth Ferus. Two weeks. It feels so much longer then that. Years, even months. That I could believe. But only two long weeks. He showed me things. Things I didn't think possible. Things I didn't expect to be able to do. Amazing things. Terrible, but amazing. He says I've come a long way for such a short time, but.. It feels normal. I feel stronger every day, and I shudder to think of what will come next.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Present Day.
"Do you understand your mission?" And there he was again. The Zabrak. Always demanding something of the human. Yet, the human would only lift his gaze back up. He knew full well why the red man demanded so much. Alcaran understood the burden to be placed on him. He was only a lowly night guard just three or four weeks ago. Now, a trained assassin. Iridonian even. And not the horned individuals as most would know, but the warrior clan. The bloodthirsty. Ferus had trained Alcaran in his way, the Iridonian way, and despite the small amount of training he had, it was a part of him as much as the blood that flowed through his veins.

"Get in, find the control room and hack the auto defenses, and kill all in the way." It amazed even himself how level his tone was. The thought of killing was so easy for him now. His brow eyes would lock onto his masters own, offering a single nod. "I got this, don't worry yourself."

"You will make my job much harder if you do. I need those turrets at least shut off. If you can turn them on the republic, do so. But getting them down is your main objective."

The two, as it was, were already within the space station. Their ship, flying false codes and a warning about a Sith attack just before the fleet came in gave a rather good cover. Especially when the ship itself had it's own fresh war wounds. 'Necessary' was all the Lord would say about it. A couple of mind tricks, and the two were on their way to the heart of the building.

But they were close to where they would split off. Brown eyes scanned about the area. Simple hallways, the occasional guard running past them. They were ignored simply because of the larger threat just outside. Perfect. Yet, as they made it to the split off point, both knew full well that this casual walk was about to change. Instructed to go right to the medical bay and deciding against it to go to the control room would raise suspicion. Suspicion that would turn out to an all out fight. Alcaran turned to his master, rubbing the back of his head for a moment before he spoke up, concern in his voice.

"You uh.. Sure this is gonna work?" Hard blue eyes glaring at him would be his answer. The Darths voice would call out as he himself turned down his hallway.

"Just don't kark it up."

She couldn't deny it anymore, not at this point. The old excuse about 'following orders' no longer held water, and she knew herself a little too well not to realize what was going on.

You're addicted, she thought with no small amount of rage, flexing her armored fingers into a tight fist. She was half-tempted to punch the metal walls of the dropship, but that wouldn't exactly be conductive to her health. Whatever cracks the impact incurred in her knuckles would probably heal by the time they made touchdown on Eclipse station, but she wasn't dumb enough to risk it. Despite her natural regeneration factor, Vrag could tell she was more tired than usual these past weeks; even the innate abilities of her species couldn't counter days of battle with little to no recuperation in between.

She bit her lip, the gesture thankfully obscured by her perennially darkened visor, and leaned back to look at the impersonal ceiling above her, avoiding the curious gazes of her troops. The woman wouldn't look at them, not now. Force knew how many would be torn down that day by the fire of the Republic opposition, or even worse, left crippled for life. No amount of field experience could really prepare you for each new skirmish, for it was different each time. Weather, disposition, energy, morale… feth.

The Knight unclenched her fingers and cracked her neck, doing her very best to push away any lingering doubts. She would need her whole attention for the upcoming fight, and getting shot down by some lowly soldier was a death more pathetic than she could handle. She thumbed the hilt of her trusty lightsaber on her belt, passing over the grenades and slugthrower sidearm with her palm as she reassured herself they were all there. The flamethrower she'd grown to love hung from a strap across her shoulder, ready and willing to set her enemies on fire.

---------------

A hulking mass of muscle, body and mask wandered into the confines of the gunship with a small escort trailing his steps, Royal Guard, two of them and that could only mean one thing. Darth Carach, Voice of the Dark Lord, had deemed it fit to enter the tight space himself.

His gaze wandered across the various faces, some curious, other neutral, most excited for the coming fight. It was the sign of the young, to be truly anticipating a new fight, to shed blood in the glory of the Empire and all those others slogans the Ministry of Truth, under his acquaintance Vornskr, pumped out daily.

Carach wondered how long it would take them to lose this newfound innocence, how long it would take them to realize that war was not a glorious event, there was no beauty and no honor to be found. It was dirt, mixed with blood and mud all coming together into a blend of neutral obscurity.

Finally then, his cursory look ended with Vrag. The Sith leaned against the durasteel frame and… started humming.

She was starting to see the same faces over and over. The planets changed and the objectives differed but the familiar people were showing up time and time again.

But since the first time she’d assisted in the dominions of planets, she felt like an imposter. She wasn't a Vahl, nor was she a member of the cult. But she was someone who wanted nothing better than to destroy this particular planet. What was is they were taught as Younglings, it was a ‘World of our own. A Jedi world, safe for the children.’

She laughed out loud and then looked at the ground. It didn't necessarily help to draw attention to herself. Due to the Force being wonky, her training had been virtually non-existent, and even if she could use the Force better, now was not a good time to use it. She remembered the moment she’d accidentally set her leg on fire the last time she tried to do anything.

So she kept her head down and waited to dock as she realised she was now on at least nodding terms with a number of her fellow Sith.

Objective: Auto Defenses
Location: On route

Now by himself, Alcaran wandered down his chosen path with slight determination in his step. His master would be drawing all the attention by now, and it should give him the opening needed to sneak into the command room. If, of course, he wasn't noticed. This was the bright side of it, if you could call it that, and as ever. It never went as planned. He would find himself bumping into a rather large man. A rather large man with a rather large gun.

Green eyes from the giant would glance down to the average mans form, almost annoyed like. "Oi, keep your eyes up. Sith are wandering about. Heard one was sited the way you were coming from." What this man had in strength he didn't have in mind. In fact, as he slowly realized not only were there no others coming from Alcaran's direction but that he did not even know the brown eyed man himself, a sharp pain hit him in his side. Looking down, the giant would see what seemed to be a dagger sticking from his side. And the smaller human missing. Reaching down to the dagger, he would go to pull it out, only to find his arms not working. In fact, nothing seemed to be working in his body.

As the poison kicked in, a multitude of shiny colors would be seen by him, and he would drop dead after only a few moments. The poison dagger remained in his side, and Alcaran would be running down the hallway as fast as he could. No more hiding.

Eclipse. Never heard of and never cared, really.

After managing to get herself stuck with good company at the worst of times within Fringe space it became rather clear to Sena that the only way to fix this was to help her own ‘side’ for a bit. Which in itself was odd since she had called her stint with the One Sith an ‘alliance of convenience’ when asked about it. Perhaps it was something inside of her, but staying just felt right. [member="Darth Nephthys"] had been good to her, or at least so the back of her mind kept nagging at her.

Was it her own thoughts? She didn’t rightly know but she did not question it either. Perhaps it was for the best not to. To just listen and obey. She looked out for any hounds of Vahl, last time she had seen them wasn’t exactly the best of times.

She quietly followed Nephthys around. Quietly and out of sight, making sure not to bother or get in her way. It wasn’t the same thing as being a slave to a master, not really. This was just a person whom she had come to house a lot respect for. It was funny how respect and total fear usually went hand in hand for these things, wasn’t it?

So what was it that they were doing here? Going by the recently reported track record… Probably laying waste to another old Republican holding or a Jedi temple or two. A worthy cause by it’s own right.

Her master would hold orders if need be. If not, well, she could always find something on her own. It had been expected of her before but for now being available should her master need her felt a lot more 'comfortable.'

Nyrrea turned her ship quickly to the left, avoiding a wandering asteroid as she did. There were odd reports about the asteroid field around the planet and she was out here slowly scouting it out. She had been searching the field for almost a standard hour now ans had come across nothing but more rocks. Her scanners flashed for a second, she wasn't sure what she had seen, but there was something out there for sure. She maneuvered her ship deeper into the asteroid field and focused on not hotting a stray rock along the way. Whatever it was, she was going to find it.

" Strange signal located deeper in the asteroid field. Moving to investigate now."

Building...and experiments...

"Have you worked on the shaping of the...chom-hawn?"
"Chom-huun." The shaper emphasized the deep sound of the second syllable. Alset studied her mouth, disgusting as it may have been, as she enunciated the word.
"Chom....huun?" He spoke slowly, given the pronunciation it's token effort. The shaper clapped her oddly shaped hands, one being a grafted biot for her escalation to adept shaper, and smiled a toothy smile. They looked sharpened, the doctor made a mental note, as his old eyes glanced upon the cylindrical beast as he continued to take notes and observe.

"Explain to me, in detail, the advancements you have made on the Chom haw...um, Chom-huun."
The shaper smiled and approached the beast. "As you can see, the beast no longer has optical nerves...eye balls. Upon your suggestion, the chitin hardened membranes were thinned and moved inside the body, just between the intestines and rectum."

"The fact that you can do that is completely fascinating to me...now, when you thinned the eyes out, did it focus the beam?" She didn't answer, which initially irritated him, until she showed the fact that a presentation would ensue. Placing a lambent fruit within grip, the monster lunged at the fruit and instantaneously, the beam shot out the rectum in a short length, nearly half a meter. It was focused and pulsating. The doctors mouth opened as he scribbled notes.

"Absolutely fascinating. Tell me, why is the beam bouncing like that?"
"The thinning of the optical nerves caused it to lose a certain...endurance to energy. The pulsation is caused by a destruction of the eye-ball, to which we rectified with an intense capacity for self-healing."
There was only so many times he would say fascinating, so he merely scribbled more notes, and shook his head in awe. "Now, why is the blade that specific length."
"It's precisely double the length of the body. As it stands, the body of the Chom-huun can retain four lambent fruit within it's digestive tract. One to be constantly broken down for energy, the other three to focus the energy and dictate the projection of the energy."
Beautiful. He thought it but failed to speak the words, as he approached a diamond etched table saw and pulled the little beast under the trajectory of the circular blade.

"What are you doing?"
"Science my dear girl, science!" He laughed as he turned away from her, powered the saw on, and pushed it down upon the yorik coral skin of the Chom-huun. Sparks flew, embers flared, and all rejoiced as life continually found a way.

Khan watched out the viewport of his landing shuttle as the station in the distance got closer. Other Sith ships were moving towards it as well- too many. Too much competition, too many other people to steal his glory. He would have to work quickly if he wer eto get any recognition out of this battle. Khan smiled slightly as he formulate his plan while the shuttle got closer to the landing bays of the station. Perhaps he would have a chance if he thought of something others did not...

The Umbaran Acolyte strode through the ship, awaiting for it to dock. Her demanour was colder, as always when awaiting a mission, yet her inside was starting to rage with fury and savageness, the very same bestial side of her she had learnt to keep perfectly at bay and release when the time was right. No one could have known how prepared she was to follow her lethal instincts.

Her white, piercing gaze scouted through her surroundings until it was crossed by a golden haired Acolyte. Syss was immediately intrested by the individual, she could almost taste her conflicted mind in the air and so decided to...investigate. She made her way towards the young woman but didn't address her yet.

She observed first, keeping herself some meters away as to not let any detail escape her but the decision was made as soon as the human female laughed, apparently because of something she though and considered funny. The Umbaran then decided to proceed and approached the other Acolyte, "Greetings" She said, her tone as distant and cold as her appearance as though there was a wall of ice in between them, and as analytic as the look she casting upon the girl, not disrespectful but rather...full of intrigue.

So began the respective roles that Sena and Nephthys would take.

One would be the voice for the other. Sena would be Nephthys voice. Perhaps a most interesting relationship indeed, but this would mean that Sena would have a rather interesting method of learning from her master.

Stoic and with a beaufic visage of a doll, Darth Nephthys would stand beside the acolyte. Her crimson eyes bearing down upon the viewport of the bridge where they stood at.

There, Nephthys would relay her desires for the next step to Sena.

// Send out the drones. Scout the asteroid belt. If there are any Republic vessels in the area... destroy them.//

The Vahla from Dagobah sat in the centre of the floor, her legs crossed over one another, with her eyes closed and in deep meditation. She knew there was a rat race in progress from the others to get to the station, some seeking glory and fame whiles other sought conflict in fighting the Republic. For her, there was a deeper meaning for arriving at the station. Information. At first she wanted to kill every Republic associate on the station, but now she would leave that to the more bloodthirsty of the Order. Information about her ancestors and their home held more sway with her than killing another Republic soldier. Even a Jedi at this pointe would be a waste of her time.

As the shuttle slowed it's pace to enter the docking bay, she could already feel the deaths through the Force, even if it was still shaky. Her brethren had descended on the station like a pack of hungry tuk'ata feasting on their prey. So when she finally stepped off the shuttle and onto the station, only the corpses of both enemy and ally where there to greet her.

If there was something here for her to obtain and bring back to the Chosen One, she had no idea where to begin. So for now she would follow the sounds of battle until either the Force granted her a vision or she stumbled upon something herself. Either way, if there was knowledge of the Vahla here, she would find it.

After spending as much time engulfed by war, either directly or indirectly, Vrag had learned to simply phase out the usual noises and find whatever peace she could before hell broke loose. Nervous joking, the rattling of metal, the buzzing of a hundred voices… those all belonged in a dropship about to land in hostile territory.

Humming, however, did not.

She glanced up from the floor, blue eyes searching the crowd for the source of the tune. One of the perks of being as tall as she was being able to see much farther than the rest. Another, much less pronounced benefit of her height, though, was also being able to spot towering individuals with great ease. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to compare it to the very highest of peaks that pierce the blanket of clouds in their yearning to be kissed by the sun.

Well, the Sith weren't all that much about sunlight — just look at the most popular skin tone — but the point of the analogy wasn't really about the blazing star in the sky, so what do you care? Anyway, Vrag pinpointed the oddity soon enough, and darkened visor met face-covering mask. What a piss-poor staring match that would make.

"You know any good songs?" she called out to the massive man across the sea of bodies between them, thankful for the momentary distraction his antics provided as they neared the station below.

Weather, disposition, energy… morale.

“It will be done, Master.” A sentence forced to part her lips. ‘Master’, a horrible word.

She had no idea how to command these things or even how to lead men. She didn’t let it show; incompetence was always frowned upon. Some people didn’t show their disapproval of such a thing but if there was one thing Sena had picked up over the time spent around the Sith it was that the cost of such an error could be life-threatening depending on exactly how bad you mess up.

Her hand reached for the console in front of her as uncertainly ruled supreme.

“This is-...” Hesitation. Was her name truly important? “Lassiter under authority from Darth Nephthys.”

Ugh, did she really say that? “Send the drones out to scout the asteroid fields. Find any and all remnants of the Republic and destroy it. Show no mercy.”

It was a harsh order but it was the only thing Sena could truly think of. Besides, it got the drones going as would be evident by their obedient approach to the asteroid field. Sena could be content about that as she backed away and placed herself next to [member="Darth Nephthys"] again in silence.

Corvus nodded to the fellow Acolyte when she saw her, striding towards her. She carried herself with grace and confidence – two characteristics Melori aspired to portray. She was arrogant alright but that wasn’t the same as confident.

The Umbaran seemed as cold as her skin was pale and she found it difficult to decipher her mood. Melori had been told by her sister that she wore her emotions on her sleeve, whereas this Sith appeared to be in total control – like Taeli really. She wondered if this was necessary or just a preference – as she never saw herself becoming an ice-queen.

Looking at the advancing Acolyte, she felt the name apt and decided to name her as such. Not to her face perhaps, not yet, but one day. But then the ice broke and the Umbaran spoke first.

Perhaps a very, very mild thaw was more appropriate as her clipped tones gave no warmth. And Melori was aware she was being appraised – and was unsure if she measured up. Pushing this thought aside as the wonderings of the weak, Melori stood and replied. “I am Melori Rae.” She’d been practicing that. “And I presume you are here for the same purpose – to eradicate any notion that this world was ever a safe haven for Jedi and to send a message that however distant, however well-hidden, the arm of the Sith will reach it – and obliterate it. For we are efficient and effective.” It wasn’t intended as a speech, the words just flowed and felt natural to her ears.

Objective: Secure Station/Look For Evidence of Vahla Homeworld?
She investigated the first three rooms she came across for anything that could pointe her in the right direction. Two of the rooms housed several computer terminals but unfortunately had been wiped clean by the Pubs. Nothing there. The third room produced a working protocol droid who had recently undergone a memory wipe. The only useful information the droid could provide was a location of a research lab down in the lower level of the space station. However, to gain access one needed the passcode and the droid couldn't provide her with one. As she turned to leave, she heard a series of beeps coming from a hidden compartment in the wall. When she managed to get it open, a green and orange astromech droid rolled out, beeping its thanks. After checking the droid, she discovered the droid survived the rounds of memory wipes. An idea occurred.

Following the little bucket of bolts as it moved through the halls, she realized it was taking a path away from all the fighting. Smart droid. After several twists and turns, they ended up in front of a turbolift. The droid beeped once and swiveled its dome to the right and then to left. Not understanding what the droid was trying to 'say' to her, she stared at it. The droid whistled and gave a low beep before extending a mechanical arm from its body plugging it into a small port on the left side of the turbolift.

The panel went from red to green before the doors slid opened. The droid entered the turbolift and she followed after it. The droid beeped three times, place it's arm into another port, and closed the doors. The turbolift shuddered slightly then began to descend.

A rocky landing, a howl of air, and then the Sith troops were spilling onto the platform of the Eclipse station. The swarm of regulars and the Royal guard of the masked man swept over the pad like waves of black, the form of the armored Knight long lost amid the rest. A couple of accurate shots took out the cameras looking upon the hangar, and the invading forces proceeded, as of yet unimpeded, deeper into the vast structure.

"This is team Delta," she muttered into her comlink, hoping to raise the rest of those who were going after the Republic soldiers hiding somewhere in the maze of corridors before them. Their efforts would be much more efficient if they coordinated themselves, and Vrag was all about efficacy.

"Report back to me when you make touchdown," she hissed into her mouthpiece before signing off, her blue eyes meeting the gaze of the masked Sith. "Well then, Zorro," the woman chuckled softly as she readied her sidearm and flamethrower, one in each hand. "Feel free to start helping when the fancy strikes you," she said with a wink he couldn't see, turning on her heel to march forward with the rest of her troops.

Their intel on the place was sparse at best, so team Delta proceeded with caution, thoroughly checking each hallway before they entered. What rooms they found were mostly empty of everything, naught but a few leftover pieces of discarded paraphernalia that had outlived its usefulness. It was obvious that they were treading upon a ghost of a station, for Eclipse had fallen victim to the retreating Republic just like the rest of the coreworlds.

One mans' trash is another man's treasure, the firrerreo smiled behind her visor and rounded another corner once the corridor was proclaimed clear. Wherever the defenders were hiding, the Sith would eventually smoke them out and gun them down like the cowardly rats they were. Until then, however Vrag would be forced to put up with the ceaseless humming somewhere to her right, gritting her teeth from time to time as she vainly tried to pinpoint the melody.
