Anika had been home on Mandalore for a while now. She was happy to be back after her capture and she was still obviously recovering, but she was doing better now. Her master, Darth Metus had made quite the generous offer not too long ago and Anika was overjoyed. He asked if she would be willing to be adopted by him. With a thankful and joyful heart, she accepted this. She had finally found where she was meant to be. Anika had finally found home. She didn't have to run around the galaxy anymore trying to find where she belonged.

Today, Anika had been running around preparing for this. She didn't know how these things worked. The last few months had been quite hard. One she had been in pain, but she had been feeling quite lonely.. more so than usual. She didn't know what she would have to do to be adopted by her master. He had already sort of taken her in just by being her master, but she could tell thing were much different than they had been around the first time they met.

Anika's nerves were running high as she got herself ready for the day. She was pulling her hair back into a ponytail with shaky and excited hands as she then proceeded to get dressed fairly quickly. After she was ready, she came out and looked for Darth Metus until she found him.

"Do you know how this thing goes?"

She asked. To be honest, she was nervous and excited all at the same time. No one ever wanted to adopt her before. Much less be her friend or master. It had taken this long to find another master to teach her.

"Back your things. Quickly."

The edict of the Sith Lord was a stark contrast to the momentous occasion that was the present. Although, initially, Darth Metus had intended to celebrate the new addition to his family, the current situation demanded urgency on their part. In brief, he was...Done. For the whole of his life, Darth Metus had dedicated himself to the Mandalorian people. He tried to make up for the mistakes of his young adulthood through service...and tried to unite his people through leadership. Yet, time after time, the people of Mandalore disappointed him. Ambition blinded the bold into colliding their thick skulls against the ancient ways.

The same faces. The same names. There could be no progress as long as they yet clung to the name Mandalorian.

And no amount of trying and putting his House through Hell would change that.

And so, Darth Metus was done. His mind was made up. He and his House would depart from Mandalore thenceforth. Some would argue with this decision, few would disobey, and their flight would be swift and sudden. Seemingly overnight, the once notable House Verd would turn its back on Mandalore once and for all. Thus did Darth Metus turn to face his freshly adopted child. A gentle sigh escaped him as he stepped forward and briefly draped an arm over her shoulders.

"We will celebrate your joining this family soon. But for now, it is imperative that you pack your things, immediately. Pack light and meet me at the Starport. We are leaving Mandalore...for good."

Anika looked at the man as he told her to pack her things. This was different for her. She had known that he was having conflict with other Mandalorians, but she never thought it would go this far. Anika knew that he had been under high stress lately. It was a bit tough for her seeing him like that. Sure, she was a bit upset that they weren't celebrating at the moment, but she understood. She was still a teenager, but she understood situations like this from an adult perspective.

At the moment she knew that he was over the other Mandalorians. Anika started grabbing a bag to put her stuff in. Just a simple back pack that would pretty much fit everything she had. Anika in truth compared to other girls, didn't have much. It was big for this family to be leaving Mandalore. Hopefully the others understood that much. Her new father then came towards her and put an arm around her. For such a tough man, he had quite the gentle side as well. She looks up at him as he explained that they would celebrate once they were settled in somewhere else.

"Ok. I understand. I shouldn't take too long."

She responded in a calm voice. Leaving Mandalore for good? She was sure she would see it again in the future, but not like how she was now. It would be missed as a childhood home, but she could move on. She looked up at him again and gave a small smile before she then went to start packing her things quickly.
