The Lion King
Himmelskald, Tabaqui
Heavenshield residence
A warm, soothing breeze washed over the naked skin of his upper body riddled with beads of sweat from the rigorous training exercise he'd just finished, now sat meditating upon the porch. His laboured breath had begun to settle, with a more calm pace taking its place. Some say either mind or body, but to Thurion both are equal; one cannot attempt to be at your best by ignoring a vital part of you. His thoughts were of his family; of his beloved Coci and his little Nina, both so very important to him. Now a fourth member was on his way, and everyone couldn't help but feel more than a bit giddy over it. Nina had already begun to hone her sister skills even though the child was many months away, still.
He had so much to be grateful for, yet the sense of loss had never left his essence; his failures are as much part of him as those he loves, and both are what makes him who he is and keeps him going. Knowing loss first-hand means he'll strive even harder to prevent it further.
Thinking herself invisible, Nina tip-toed behind her father and got ready to jump him. Convincing herself that he hadn't seen her, her tiny hands reached around his head to place them over his eyes that were already closed. "Is it nighttime already? How very curious..." he spoke aloud, feigning ignorance. "I guess I better go tell Nina to go to bed!" He turned around and grabbed the little girl, who grinned wide at her father plucking her off the ground and into his arms.
