A first for everything

Gherron was doing something he hadn't done in a long time, in fact he hadn't done it since back when he was still in padawan training. He was drawing. His notepad had reviewed so little attention recently, it was pathetic. And now that he had finally touched up on it, he was reminded how much drawing soothed him. Even more so than the force itself, drawing in peace and quiet really comforted the Jedi and brought him peace. In the middle of one particular drawings, he checked his chrono. It was time to go pick out a new padawan. Closing his pad, he got up and headed to the area where dozens of new trainees gathered, ready to be called upon. This would be Gherron's first padawan. He hoped he chose wisely.

Rylie Horne. One time orphan, one time ... something. And now, little Jedi padda-wan? Life was full of the unexpected, but never had the thought occurred that she'd be here. At this very moment. Waiting to be called on with other folks that had similar abilities. Abilities, ha. That was a good way to put it. Her cerulean eyes began to dart back and forth between the would-be teachers that were lining up, and the other hopefuls that fell in beside her. The sky above was clear as crystal, and the warm sun was beating down on their heads and causing just about all of them to perspire a little more than they already were. Her black lashes swept up from the grassy ground, until her gaze pointed forward and she searched through the various solemn looking faces. Silently, Rylie couldn't help wondering where she'd be going. Her hands wrung tirelessly together, every once in a while stopping to wipe off the sweat from her palms on the pressed charcoal-pants she was wearing. Pride was one of her greatest perfections, but with ivory teeth grazing against her rosy-plump bottom lip, anyone with a pair of working eyes could see that even she was feeling nervous, maybe even a bit doubtful. After all, it wasn't every day one started down a path to become a Jedi.

As the would-be padawans lined up to be chosen, Gherron was handed a tablet with each one's name and attributes. Each seemed to be what was usually found in the general lot, but one in particular caught his attention. [member="Rylie Horne"] was her name, and she seemed to he very similar in personality to when he had first started, even some attributes that he still had today. Working with her would be fun for the both of them, he mused. It would be much easier too. Lowering his pad, he called out her name. "Rylie Horne, please come with me."
